Bizarre celebrity bluenoses

So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving Rangers instead....

Why would a Dennistoun lass being a Rangers fan be bizarre?

Edit: I see my post was almost a repeat of one before.

She was a member of the Caledonian Accordian Band who played at the Rangers Supporters rallies back in the day .They also played on Lulu's first This is your Life show.'

I remember back when he was in the ITV comedy, "Get Some In." His character was always going on about Rangers, and how National Service, prevented him from going to Ibrox on a Saturday.
A young Brian Pettifer wearing denim jacket and jeans and a Rangers scarf covered in badges is in a 1970's Rangers programme where he won the cash prize for having his face circled by the match day photographer. Saw him years later going into the main stand a few times.

Just read the whole thread. This ^

I don’t think there’s a genuine “fan” in the entire thread.
The late Russell Hunter was definitely a Bluenose, Brian Pettifer still is. Andy Cameron is in the Directors box at every home game. In the series 'The Gaffer' Russell Hunter's character was a Rangers supporter who frequently mentioned the team and Big Jock Wallace.

I can personally vouch for this one.
I met a few of the internationalists in those days, through a friend.
I also think the Hastings brothers were bears as well, definitely, if you use a different interpretation of “bear”, Scott .
They were certainly amongst Rangers fans in the main stand at Tynecastle the night they beat us 4-2 in the cup.
Neither seemed very happy with the result.
Big Broon from Troon was definitely a Bluenose and Sandy Carmichael was the grandson of former Ranger Alex Bennett. Alex came to Ibrox from Celtic where even then he was known as a Rangers fan.

The only other random one I remember was the actor Nigel Havers being one of us. In the late 80s or early 90s he was happy to join in with us bears down in London with a sing song and tore into the pints and whatever else. Memory is blurry but chat was his old man was high up in English society and ruthlessly went after and jailed several IRA members

Yes, his Dad was targeted by the Provo's when he was Attorney General.

He was at Manchester in 08.

It led to one of the most legendary threads on here, started by @RSEA.

A well-known poster had a meltdown about not getting a ticket when people like Hugh Grant were getting one.

Cue a poll ‘Who Deserves it more?’ with options:

Hugh Grant - famous, successful, handsome
The poster - been to some games before

Delighted to say he did get one in the end!
Again I have read this but surely some bear would've got a picture with him. Saw plenty of Lampard and his dad at the game.

Phones weren’t as ubiquitous then as they are now, and non existent in 1990, but we had a couple of Polaroid pictures with havers which were passed around the train home. Don’t know who ended up with them.

Not a celebrity but a bizarre fan.

The guy that started The Proud Boys in America is a Rangers supporter probably because his parents were Scottish, I watched a documentary about him a few months ago and in one scene he is wearing a Rangers scarf.
Ffs! That's gonny trigger a few on here mate:)

Graeme Clark for sure.
He came along to games with us as his brother was a friend of ours.
Very ordinary guy!
Graeme Clark and their manager Dougie Souness used to sit in my row in the Govan Rear. Dougie always wore a half and half Rangers/England top (the first McEwans Lager one and both tops were the same template) which 16 year old me thought was as cool as f@ck.

Brian Blessed wore a Rangers training too on a chat show years ago. That’s a bizarre one.
Chris Evans is another one due to his friendship with Gazza at the time.

Just listening to Brian Blessed’s autobiography on audible.
He hasn’t yet broken into Follow Follow or all the bluebells are blue….

Evans probably couldn’t name a player of ours since Gazza.

His interest probably disappeared the second Gazza joined Middlesbrough.

I can remember Russel in a comedy series back in the late 70's/early 80's.
Can't remember the name of it, but his character wore a white T-shirt with the Rangers Crest on the front of it.

Starting with, "I can personally vouch for this one." and then going on to Ï think" makes it a little bit dodgy mate. :))

I was vouching for the previous poster’s, the one I replied to, assertion that Chalmers was a Rangers fan.
I was thinking, only because I have no proof, other than the Hastings brothers being amongst the Rangers support at Tynecastle of all places, that they were Rangers supporters.
That clear things for you?

I was just joking mate that was the reason for the smilie. Sorry, it wasn't meant to be taken serious.

Alistair Burnett. I'm pretty sure he said "Hibs 2, Celtic (they must be getting used to it by now) 0" :))

He often read 'News at 10' with a Rangers tie on too!

Sir Alastair Burnet, has died aged 84, was a distinguised broadcaster and journalist who became the face and voice of ITN's News At Ten .

Sir Alastair, who was born in Sheffield, was the son of a Scottish engineer and worked for The Glasgow Herald (as it was then) through much of the 1950s before becoming a national figure thanks to his work on television.

After studying at Oxford University, he joined the Glasgow Herald in 1951, working as a sub-editor and a leader writer. He met his wife Maureen Sinclair in the city and always described himself as both a Rangers and a Partick Thistle fan.

He spent the next seven years at the Glasgow Herald before joining The Economist, where he also worked as a leader writer until 1962.

Was this SVDA?

And Omar (black English guy) had Rangers shorts on in a scene lol and think Ben Dover is a fan too.

Another Scottish girl ,name escapes me just now shot for a British company and filmed (clothed) in Ibrox underground (the orange subways) although scarf looked more like a Morton one lol.
Big wanker are you mate?
