Black squares on the board?

Is it just me that's getting these black squares popping up and flashing all over the board or is there a problem with the site?
 
I’ve had them a few times on the laptop over the last week or so.

A refresh of the browser seems to clear them.
 
i keep getting a big black band going across the screen on here when scrolling up and down nothing on other sites though
 
I've been getting them occasionally since last Wednesday.

I just put it down to my ad blocker kicking the ads out.

I couldn't get one to stay long enough to inspect the source code.
 
I was getting that on Chrome on my old laptop in the livingroom and thought it was a driver issue. Anyway to get rid of if you go into Settings > Advanced and scroll to the bottom
Switch off "Use hardware acceleration when available" and restart Chrome.
 
Well, that was disappointing. Thought it was some cryptic reference to us not playing to our full potential, a sort of intellectual version of 'with one hand tied behind our back' or more apt, 'not playing with a full deck'.
