The main story was the away trip from 80s but anything told about our visit there in 70s ?

I've never heard of any Rangers fan that attended that one but I believe it passed off without much incident

Rangers team bus was attacked

I was there. Some trouble at and after the game but nothing compared to the later match.
Rangers advised supporters not to travel and as a result there were few from Scotland.
Wasn't a great match to be honest.

Newspapers claim Rangers were cheered off the pitch by the home fans, is that true?

Nearly 50 years ago but seems highly unlikely so something you may remember.

We played Dundalk early 70s no trouble at all at Ibrox

That was in October and November 1968 before The Troubles started for real, though it was building up for sure. Are you maybe thinking of when we played Bohemians again at Ibrox in 1984 and we only got through by scoring twice in the last 6 minutes or something? Now THAT was close! The Bohemians fans, all 6 of them, got the Broomloan Stand to their own (or at least the front or back section, though I seem to recall they got the whole stand).

the away leg Colin Stein scored twice,it was the midweek after he scored his second hat trick in two weeks against Hibs at Ibrox.

Not as far asI recall. But memories do fade with time
Belfast Telegraph and Daily Record (Don Morrison) report the team being cheered off so, strange as it sounds, it probably happened.

Record reports no other incidents (other than the “unfortunate” bottle attack on the team bus) “despite partisan singing by some Rangers fans”.

Typically, Jock Wallace played down being hit by the bottle.
