Brian Laudrup’s performance in the 5-1 demolition of Hearts in the 96 cup final

His crossing was something else. Always knew where his team mates were and always seemed to be able to put the ball right on their heads.

But it’s the combination of pace and close control that used to blow my mind week in week out.

Possibly the most complete performance by that team.

And glorious as it was, still get angry that Ritchie wasn’t sent off:D

It was like watching a dream fantasy. It’s the type of game we all wish for as supporters - complete control, brilliant to watch and can relax in total comfort that we are winning the Cup. Laudrup upstaged both teams. How many hat-trick players in a Final are not awarded motm? Goes to show how brilliant Laudrup was that day. And Gazza wasnae that bad n’all :))

Not many players score a hattrick in a cup final and don't win motm. That's how good Laudrup was that day.

Hearts put so much emphasis on Gazza that they forgot about Laudrup.

Poetry in motion.

We ran amok that day.
