Rangers tipped to sign forward

Rangers have been tipped to sign QPR’s Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The winger could leave the Londoners in January with his contract expiring at the end of the season and reportedly no agreement on a new deal forthcoming.
Ex-England striker Kevin Phillips reckons Rangers could be a great location for him.
He told Football Insider: "QPR have not started the season very well and you would presume that one of their best players would be starting the game, let alone being left out of the squad. It suggests that he has made his intentions clear – that he wants to leave the football club.
“To be left out of the squad when your team is struggling in the Championship suggests to me that it is a no brainer, he will be moving on in January. If that is up to Rangers I am sure he will shine up there because he is a superb player.”

I rate him and if he hasn't signed an extension by January I think warburton will let him go on the cheap for about £200-400k would be an upgrade on Jones/Barker Club Brugge had a £4.7 million bid accepted in the summer but he refused the move

Top Google result is the Evening Standard. They have him as a mentally challenged target and QPR want him to sign a new contract.

Seems our recruitment department are switched on to these potential bargains.

No idea how good he is right enough as I’ve never seen him play. YouTube videos can also make even me good at football.

Normally if the story involves the following;

Linked to the old firm
Contract due to end and current contract talks not going well

Then it means = Agent putting this out to put pressure on club to cough up the money.

There will be dozens of football players as good as him Europe nearing the end of their contract. Remember the hysteria about Scott Allen ?

Football insider have been right with a few of our transfers recently. Would not be surprised is we are looking at him, could be similar to the Aribo cross country loophole

I am sure we showed interest in him back in the summer. I would imagine he will be one of many that we are keeping tabs on as he ticks a lot of the boxes.

If he's available on a pre-contract or discounted price, our recruitment team will be very aware of it.

I'm now confident that if we have a target, we'll get him.

As with all of these types of stories. Linked with us and them and his contract is expiring. Could very easily just be his agent planting stories to get QPR to up negotiations/ other clubs to take notice.

TM @David Edgar

Has he been capped by Nigeria? Aribo being his mate might play a big role in getting him here if it's true considering how his international career has taken off by playing here.

I love players like him, that can show some artistry.
Unfortunately, so too do the hammer throwers of the SPFL.

I was told months ago in the Summer time we made contact with his agent about a move. Wasn’t told when (obviously going to be this upcoming window) but he was definitely a target. Not heard anything since

Should definitely be interested he would be a snip and a big upgrade on some of our wide options

I blocked that Football Insider channel on my Apple News the other day, it was doing my head in.

The last 4-5 Rangers relevant articles were all patent nonsense, wild speculation and in all honesty - sounding like one of the Obsessed talking about their chosen specialist subject.

So, as the OP says - unreliable - and I’m out.

I don't watch a lot of Championship football at all but he seems highly rated, one thing I'm absolutely sure of is I love us trying to exploit the cross border loophole like we did with Aribo.

Very clever.

Warburton says he still has to develop decision making in the final 3rd, can kinda see what he's on about.

He mentioned a likening to when Ronaldo was first at Man U, likes alot of time on the ball but with the right coaching could go right to the top.

From what I've saw of him he's a dangerous player plenty of power and pace to get by defenders really good body strength aswell and often bullys opposition full backs would do the business up here imo

Yeah, just like Aribo reminded people of Ejaria.
Lazy assumption
Well of course it's lazy, I've watched 2 minutes of him on YouTube, it's hardly a full scouting report. It's like when people said Gould reminded them of Messi, it's a very quick comparison based on little other than style of play. It's certainly nothing to do with ability, of which I actually think Ojo has plenty.
Also, that's lazy use of the word assumption, when I didn't assume anything. I merely gave my very quick, very vague view on two players who I think have similar styles.
