There is a lot of anger directed at our referees... well here you go, we @btsportfootball are offering the @spfl and @Sfa to trial VAR on our Live games... let’s do it?

Will never happen as it would basically mean only games involving Rangers and Celtic get fair decisions. Do BT show games between other teams?!

From the mob who wouldnt pay the going rate for the new deal, pathetic, if it gets brought in its for all games or none at all.

Yes BT show other games

Ayr v Inverness 7/12/18
Livingston v Hearts 14/12/18
Ayr v Dundee United 25/1/19
Kilmarnock v Hearts 1/2/19
Motherwell v Hearts 17/2/19
Dundee v Hibs 22/2/19

over the next couple of months

I don’t disagree, percent a couple of seasons ago Feyenoord were the only side to have goal line technology in the league. So similar has been done elsewhere!

Just 2 SPL games not involving us though in 8 weeks compared to 8 games involving us and Celtic over the same period. Just don't see other clubs agreeing to it outside of us and Celtic.

It not down to the clubs to agree the decision is by made the SPFL and SFA

If they are going to trial it then one of the game listed is perfect for it

I’d welcome VAR in a heartbeat .

We get stung far more than any other club under the current set up .

We should go for it. We've lost out on a few important decisions this season. The more attacking teams always will.

yes they do but its a trial so have to start somewhere.

I'm all for it and if it irons out the barrage of errors we have been subjected to of late, then bring it on.

BT should just go ahead and do it anyway and highlight every time the incompetent officials get stuff wrong in a VAR style. Might not affect the game but at least it will highlight the need for it.

Anything that contributes towards eradicating the horrific incompetence we are subjected to on an almost weekly basis, is to be welcomed IMHO. As long as the review panel are open, transparent, non-compromised and compiled of a range of professionals, who are capable of making such important calls.

So one game you get a penalty that you should have, and in another you don't?

Sounds a bit unfair surely? Potentially winning a league based on how many VAR games you have had.

Great in theory the idea.

Devils advocate here but how could they introduce VAR in some premier league games and not others? Surely there needs to be consistency or it would just add to the league being even more Mickey Mouse than it currently is!

It's a trial.

If the trial is successful, then it will be rolled out to all.

And during the trial period, they will select multiple games involving multiple teams.

We have refs that are better than other ones. One referee would have given a penalty when another wouldn't because he is inferior.

They should be rolling out any available improvement to the game, VAR is one of them. Even if it is just for some games.

Correct it is only a trial at moment

In England it is used in the FA Cup and League Cup but only if the game is at Premier League ground or Wembley

Well, f*ck me! Isn’t that a surprise. The one time we actually benefit from a marginal decision and all of a sudden VAR isn’t so unaffordable after all.

SPL won't allow for BT matches to potentially decide the outcome of certain games.

Our refs are turgid though, the ref seemed determined to stop the play at every opportunity last night, bringing back play when there was a clear advantage to be played.

As much as VAR is probably the only way to highlight the constant mistakes made by our officials, it will be the same idiots in a room making the final judgement on what to decide.

They have been doing it for the past year.

We were told Rogic never fouled Jack in the build up to the 19th Century Terrorists goal against us.....in fact Finbar O'Saunders said it was a foul on Rogic!!!

Fact remains, our game cannot afford the costs/upkeep of VAR

We can't afford goal line tech for same reason

We can't even afford to pay our referees full time so they could, like, maybe get better?

I would remind people that the ref in the BT studio said the Arfield sending off was a yellow, not a red

Darrell Currie added,

Yeah, we’d trust that BT production Team with the footage.

The corrupt authorities won't touch it with a barge pole, imagine their amateur paid and amateur level officials getting almost every big decision wrong throughout the league
