Bury FC phoenix club

I didn't know that.

Fair play!!!
Went bust in 1962 and were replaced by Oxford utd. Limped on for a few seasons watched by three men and a dog.

Reformed in 68 and restarted in the Lancashire combination in 70 and worked their way back into the league in 2006 replacing Oxford utd.

And that was when only the conference winners got promoted. Then again maybe not because Hereford also got promoted :))

That is so spooky

Replaced Oxford

A blog that is a ten part telling of Out of Our League
What happens when your club is thrown out of the football league in this case Bury FC

Very well made and is interesting, but incredibly sad too from a Bury fan point of view

Sanny who does the podcast says:

We are doing a few talk ups on other podcasts, if anyone who does a Rangers pod wants to have one of us to share our story. That would be a nice link possibly.

Yes, it is a bit tricky as Horwich Wanderers play there
I used to go swimming at Horwich Swimming Baths when the pool was new

I guess in Bury FC and Bury AFC position it is time for me to be more generous to our nextdoor neighbours and rivals Bolton Wanderers, both Bury and Bolton were nearly wiped off on the same day, but Bolton Wanderers were saved. There has been some generosity from some Trotters to our cause and we are a long way from any rivalry now.
Sad news about the likes of Macclesfield and Shelly, and others in positions of despair.
We can only hope they can survive and get the help and support required.
That is why i am so grateful to all you Rangers fans for your magnificent support to us

You guys seem to specialise in great flags
There are flags and then there are Rangers supersonic flags
Amazing

Our original that opened in 70's or this shithouse Bolton council built?

Feck Bolty btw way - A Bear all roads out...Tha' knows .

Playing my local team tomorrow west didsbury and chorlton. Bit of a scenester club full of grown up vegan, remainer, hemp growing students. Although I've had a couple of good drinking sessions at their ground. They have a strange link with St Pauli and I think some but not many idolise the Earl Haigs.Good luck

Well Mancbear, it is your local team that is going on the cup run after beating Bury AFC 2-1 today, congratulations
Apparently you took your chances, the second goal being in the 90+ minute when the Bury keeper went up for a free kick and could not get back fast enough.
Bury then got a penalty
So Bury start off in true Bury fashion of no cup run
Oh well, always the league

And a great friendship exists between Bury and Accy to this day, they even had a friendly to try and support us when the shit hit the fan before.
Like Rangers a club full of genuine football fans and I wish nothing but the best to both your clubs.

The new season is about to start for the new Bury AFC on Saturday

Bury AFC v Steeton

It has been an amazing effort by over 300 Bury fans to ensure that a team representing Bury exists as our club Bury FC is still in the clutches of the chairman steve dale, the man who got Bury FC expelled from the English Football League.
And as he clings on trying to manipulate a pay day from his ownership of the Bury FC Ltd Company name and Gigg Lane, he can not enter any team into any league, and yet another season of no football team for Bury FC with no future prospect lingers on.

So we must celebrate the good news, down at the very bottom of the football pyramid but with a team owned by the fans and again looking forward to seeing our team playing football.

Football begins again for Bury fans who have chosen this route.
Bring it on ! Up The Shakers

And we are still getting players

I would agree with that. I have the programme somewhere for that game back in 2001. I also remember quite a few Bury fans coming up to Accy when we were struggling for money.

I've been to Gigg Lane a few times with Accy. I even got in for a fiver with my Rangers Season ticket one international weekend as there was discount for season ticket holders of other clubs to generate a bigger crowd and it even applied in the away end.

I also remember flying back into Liverpool after the uefa cup semi in Florence and driving to Accy who were playing Bury that day in the last game of the season. That was the supposed dodgy betting game which Bury won 2-0 and had nothing to do with dodgy betting :))

Who would have predicted that outcome

One of my first jobs was with Hyndburn Borough Council and i designed an improvement scheme in Accy. We put a new fence up

Today’s the that we’ve been waiting for. A Bury team, some 17 months since one last played a league game, stepping out in the white and blue once again to begin what will hopefully be an incredible journey. Standing side by side (2m obviously!) with people we have seen for years and years, up and down the country, probably don’t even know most of their names, but we are as one. Shakers one and all. The only regret is that we can’t pack the place out today as we would have in normal circumstances.
A massive two fingers to Day, Dale, Thomas, Jevons, Harvey, Dyke, McCarthy, Alberici, Kendall and anyone else who has play any part in the demise of our beloved club. Today’s the day we start on the road back.

They tried to kill us, we wouldn’t die. UTS.

I find myself breaking down in at work sometimes thinking of what Bury and its fans have been through. Even having a few beers with friends — a couple of them dyed in the wool Shakers, might I add — this wonderful community club inevitably winds up the topic of fond reminiscing.

I love Bury. I love its fans. I love football. Here's hoping we can get a friendly organised with you clowns up at Ibrox soon.

Today is the Big Day for Bury AFC, storm alex permitting

Bury AFC v Steeton

After having a full season without a football team to support, football is back for Bury

Again, great THANKS, to all you Rangers fans for your magnificent support
Probably a day you never thought you'd see. Today is the first step on a long journey, so enjoyed every minute mate.
Here's hoping for a great start.

That’s the biggest thing. Proud day for you and I wish you the best of British.

Wow, it started with Bury scoring a screamer after 10 mins but then Steeton equalised,
h/ t
Steeton grabbed the lead and their goalie was heroic
The game went into extra time
We got a penalty
2-2
Then we got the late late match winner right at the end
3 - 2 Bury win

Phew!!

You beat me to it, was just posting the score, sounds like you could have won by half time, but the win is the main thing, and nothing better than a last gasp winner, well done pleased for you guys

Yet you label their support clowns? Strange way of showing affection for a club.

Missed all the excitement as I was driving my poor sore Mrs from a hospital appointment in Nottingham back to Dalry.
Been smiling ever since mind!!
