Bury FC phoenix club

Well we had some good news as our Manager, Andy Welsh, has extended his contract with us. He is definitely doing a good job.

Our next game is on Saturday, away at Darwen, which is just over the hill about 9 miles north from Bury .
There is a small capacity for the game and sadly it is not being streamed.

Having a nightmare with the internet connection today, hope it is better for you.
Pot luck what will be here now

More action today when we played away at Darwen, they restricted the crowd but had their record today with 982 turning up.
First half ended Darwen 2 - 0 Bury
Then we hit the boosters, came out firing on all cylinders and with two goals from Ben Wharton, a goal for Holt, a goal for the Goat Tom Greaves (think that was his 300th goal) and a goal for Brazel, turned it around for a 2 - 5 victory for Bury AFC, putting us top of the league
A good day

Here are the highlights

Be in Rochdale next weekend. Are Bury playing Saturday?
Away to St Helens, only 640 tickets available and nearly sold out. We will of course ensure a like to the highlights is posted here so your generous fans can at least see what they helped create.

Yes, Thank you to all you fabulous Rangers fans for your terrific support.
Last night at The Football Contents Awards, our Bury AFC media volunteers won the Gold Award for being the Best Non League Football Club for media content
An amazing achievement, but i have to say, well deserved

Been another busy day today, away at the bottom team, St Helens, and needed to avoid a potential banana skin fixture.
The sad news from our last game, with the score at 7 - 3 and a couple of minutes remaining, the Golcar number 4 physically threw our keeper, Jack Atkinson, down to the ground causing him to smash his head on the concrete wall behind the goal, and Jack is suffering concussion and not able to play today. How their guy did not get sent off or booked, but conveniently not seen by the officials.
Anyway, back to today, a first half penalty lead became a much more convincing 0 - 5 victory
Big Ben Wharton got the first, a pen
The silky skillful Lewis Gilboy, only turned 21 last week, scored the second
The mercurial Abs ( Abiola Obasoto) scored a brace
And i mistakenly thought the GOAT Tom Greaves had got his 300th goal in the last game, but he got it today.
This team can play good football on the deck, and they are entertaining.

The match action highlights will appear as soon as they are available

Cheers

Next Saturday we are back to a cup game, i say cup but it is that well known FA Vase.
So far we beat higher division opponents, all away, Northwich Victoria and Maltby Main.
Next up are Sunderland RC, not to be confused with Sunderland RW, away.

Bring it on

I confused myself

So we are playing away at
Sunderland Ryhope Colliery Welfare

(Not Sunderland Ryhope Community Association)

I liked the look of the Obasoto lad in the 7-3 game,

Need to get back online - haven't had the time to follow a game for a few months.

This Saturday we are in the FA Vase cup game away at Sunderland Ryhope Colliery Welfare FC who are currently in fourth in their league which is a division higher than Bury.
So far we won away at higher division teams, Northwich Victoria and Maltby Main, so this will be another tough test.

In our league, Bury are now 4 points clear at the top, but keeping our feet on the ground, after 3 good victories winning away 5 - 0 against the bottom team, at home beating the then third team 7 -3, and away winning 5 - 2 at a middle team.

Hoping that both Rangers and Bury will be the top teams again at the end of the season

Just the goals are highlighted here

Managed to see the goals yesterday and read some of the report regarding a possible new ground.

Hi Jimmy
Yes a feasibilty report for Bury AFC and Bury Council for consideration of the town's needs for leisure and a football ground and possible location.
Gigg Lane and two other locations were looked at.
A town centre location which currently has the athletics running track is favourite for a new leisure centre and a new football stadium with a 4500 capacity and potential for 8000.
Gigg Lane is still considered but does not have the space for the new leisure centre.

This will run some more now.

The outcome of the bid by the secret EST group with an USA financial backer, for Gigg Lane has not been announced yet

As all things Bury, it is complicated

Well news broke yesterday about a bid for the Gigg Lane ground, with the EST / Forever Bury claiming they are saving the Bury FC out of administration.

Should be good news, but forgive my lack of enthusiasm as caution suggests they have not done what they are claiming.

Here is some detail should you need to fill your time

Steven Wiseglass, a director of Inquesta Corporate Recovery & Insolvency, who is the Administrator of Bury FC, today confirms that heads of terms have been agreed with a party for the purchase of the club’s Gigg Lane stadium along with right, title and interest in and to other assets, namely club memorabilia, goodwill and intellectual property, including the Bury FC name.
Mr Wiseglass announced in May 2021 that the 12,000-capacity stadium was being put up for sale.
Fleurets was appointed as the agent to actively market the stadium for sale and seek unconditional offers, with the aim of securing the best possible outcome for all stakeholders of The Bury Football Club Company Ltd.
Offers were received from a number of interested parties.
Mr Wiseglass said: “We have accepted an offer to purchase the Gigg Lane stadium
and other assets, and have agreed heads of terms with the interested party.
“We remain hopeful that the deal will be completed in a timely fashion and will be a major step towards securing the future of football at Gigg Lane.
“My hope has always been that Bury FC could be rescued and seek readmission to the football pyramid system, and this now seems a step closer to becoming a reality.
“Until the sale is completed, we are unable to make any further comment.”

Continuing : this is the EST statement

As i say, it should be great news but it seems they are actually trying to form another club but they wont admit it

Seen that on the local news last night. Are any of your guys involved?

Yes, Abs is an exciting player with skill, trickery and speed and grabbed another couple of goals on Saturday.
With Abs, Lewis Gilboy and Chippy Chippendale we have three skilful attacking players

Chippy Chippendale really has to have his own cartoon strip.

That's a name straight from "Ripping Yarns" or "Roy of the Rovers".

He's the guy who gets taken off injured one minute from time, allowing Roy Race to return from his injury and get the winner in the dying seconds:D.

No, the fan owned Bury AFC has been excluded by secret society of EST and Forever Bury who have denied the existence of Bury AFC.
There is now a two way dilemma

Back in 2019 at a Town Hall meeting, Forever Bury (the supporters association) announced they would a) continue to buy the existing club, b) support an alleged chancer called bitcoin Benwell with no links to the town and it turned out no money either, c) supported a fans group to set up a phoenix club by January 2020

Fast forward, 2021, BFC still owned by chairman SD2 who got BFC expelled from the EFL, lost our membership of the FA, put the club in insolvency events of first a CVA (agreed payments to creditors) which he failed to make any payment, then put BFC in administration and this is why the ground is currently up for sale.

During the last two years Forever Bury have been forever silent claiming that non disclosures prevent them saying anything

SD2 wants or wanted his payoff

So now there is a "them" and "us" as the Bury FC volunteers kept their part by forming the football team Bury AFC but having to play at Radcliffe's groundshare.

Then there is a group who claim they are the real fans by hoping the original BFC can be saved and this is the EST and Forever Bury stance

However, unless they pay off all the debt, they can not resurrect BFC, and the FA will prevent the use of the name.
So they are not doing this

Now Bury AFC are showing the success of a one member one vote fan owned club

So conflict continues

Ha ha, love it
But Chippy is the one who scores the awesome goals

As does Lewis Gilboy and so does Abs
And then we have Tom Greaves who just scored his 300th career goal
Exciting to watch them, have a look at some of the highlights

Is there any chance for detente between both parties? Essentially, everyone wants the same thing - a football club in Bury, fan-owned and retaining all orginal assets (if possible).

(By the way, the irony of fan-unity is not lost on this particular Rangers fan)

Hi
A very good question
At the moment there is only Bury AFC playing in tier ten of the football pyramid.

The set up is sensational, all volunteers from Bury FC, but when you look amongst your supporters there is all kinds of people with skills and professions from the living world, including real experts. And from over 300 volunteers covering all kinds of positions there is nothing that cant be answered.
And as you good Rangers fans know from your assistance in our one member one vote set up, 100% fan owned, we are in control of our destiny. It is open and honest.

The other amazing thing is, we loved our 12000 all seater Gigg Lane, but with only say 4000 crowds it made times difficult but could accommodate the occasional bigger crowd.
Visiting grounds that just have a perimiter rail has somehow been refreshing, friendly and all the clubs are volunteer based and they love their football, and you have a laugh with the players, the game officials, and you can have a drink as you watch.
Our ground share ground we get 1400 fans or so and the joy is incredible.

But during all this has been a group, maybe a very small group, but very vocal spreading hate and bile against Bury AFC which now has really caused a split
The are called the FTP as they all use the hashtag of f... the phoenix. They try to sabotage sponsors and have done many vile things. Somehow they have latched on to the EST / Forever Bury banner.
They call AFC fans rats and worse and dont want us to be anything to do with a saved Bury
The supporters association Forever Bury have been invisible and fanned the flames if they do pop up, they have a proven racist spokesperson they have never condemned too. Forever Bury initially supported the formation of Bury AFC perhaps thinking it was beyond supporters to set up, but now deny the existence of AFC
EST, a secret unelected unknown group who have not declared their agenda, but need the Forever Bury supporters trust to access potential funds, have made a bid which is now being proclaimed as saving Bury FC.
The detail is not declared, but they are not clearing the debt, they are not getting the club shares off SD2 allegedly. If this is so then Bury FC is not being saved. And a new FA membership is needed, so it has to be a new entity, a new club
Otherwise any club in debt just drops down two divisions and restarts debt free.
It can not be so. They are therefore trying to set up another new team.
Getting Gigg Lane would be an achievement but again they are presumably they are restructuring a massive debt

So only one team would be wise
But if that can happen now, will be difficult to see it happen

Games starting to come thick and fast now, testing the squad to the limit
Next game on Wednesday is another top of the table clash, this time away at Pilkington (who happen to groundshare with St Helens, where we played last week)
Hoping our 21 game unbeaten run continues and that we score some more good goals

A 2 - 2 draw, we are matching Rangers results now.
We scored first, Greaves the GOAT, Goal 302
Then he had a penalty saved
They pulled one back, then took the lead.
Then their goalie did a howler, didnt realise the GOAT was behind him, dropped the ball on the floor, of course Tom thanked him as he tucked away goal 303
2 all, tough opponents, so a good result and still unbeaten

Greaves still scoring, good career tally
Hi Billy
I have been looking back and i have to say a massive THANK YOU to you and all the magnificent Rangers fans for your support. Looking back makes me realise what a fabulous uplifting feeling you have given us when everything seemed dark.
The sad saga of Bury FC continues to rumble on from 2019, with Forever Bury proclaiming how they have saved the old club, when this is just not the case.
SD2 is still the owner of Bury FC.
We are still waiting news of this sorry story
Meanwhile, the football team created by the Bury FC fans to keep football alive in the town with Bury AFC are enjoying the refreshing football of tier ten and here are the next set of highlights from the Pilkington away game.
Thanks so much
Cheers
Graeme

Cheers, Can't believe how well you're doing, always knew you would do well, but think everything is gelling well, hopefully continues

Tuesday night football is back tonight

Bury v Chadderton

Guess what, it is raining, but the game is due to go ahead and it is being streamed

After a stifled first half, two kind of lucky scrappy goals and then a better third goal gave us a 3 nil victory tonight
I will take lucky scrappy goals anytime.
Keeping up with Rangers, we are top of the league. Hope we are both there at the end of the season.
