Both of them are such an encouragement, they have put this goverment to shame. The dam will soon breakFor the people that have been on here over recent months saying we are wasting our time? Just hear that lady’s voice please.
That’s why we won’t give up. That disgusting excuse of a football club have destroyed lives. The bastards have to be brought to their knees for their attempted coverup of the biggest football scandal in world football.
A very good summary. They really are corrupt to the core and hopefully this is the start of the downfall of both cults. The man being proposed as the next first minister is allowed to resign for grooming a child, most probably not his first and only attempt to lure a child, the current FM is aware of his creepy lurid behaviour, so much so she banned him from drinking at any official functions and when she was told he was grooming a child her first action was to try to block the story and protect him!
Ask yourself why wasn't he sacked immediately?
The former FM is on trial in a few weeks for attempted rape, again our current FM would have been aware of these allegations whilst he was still swanning about the political scene, yet she carried on and even disposed of emails and evidence of discussions with him.
Our current justice minister seems to be allowing his religion to influence him regarding the incredibly lenient sentences being handed out to child abuse offenders and the restrictions placed on the child abuse inquiry, including religious and sporting clubs, it is very apparent from the outside looking in that he does not see the abuse of children as a serious problem in Scotland.
Throw in the refusal to grant an inquiry into the worlds worst child abuse scandal in sporting history and we have to ask ourselves WTF is happening in Scotland and how it came to this?
Tried to block the story eh! sounds kind of familiar and a certain football club springs to mind , an ex manager who is dead now also springs to mind trying to block parents from taking action for the sake of the "good name " that's right ! the good name of the club and it's all so blatant and treating the Public like idiots that this should be the end of the road for this untrustworthy government and that toxic shameful football club . Let the truth come out and get this Country back to being a reasonable place to live in with a UK Government in charge and that club made to compensate the victims before it gets kicked out of Scottish Football forever .A very good summary. They really are corrupt to the core and hopefully this is the start of the downfall of both cults.
we do and nationalism has really hurt the country, but all you need to look at is the history of beasts in westminster and that tells you why they arent challenging the SNP on this. politicians are horrid peopleWe live in a horrid little country that allows child abuse to go in challengEd. The SNP have broken Scotland. Sadly I think some of the damage is irreversible.
Woodward began to deteriorate mentally, while Bennell’s power over him increased. When Woodward was just 14, Bennell began a relationship with his 16-year-old sister, later marrying her in 1991. It was like torture, Woodward says, sitting at the table for Sunday lunch and watching them laugh with his parents. “He had control of the whole family,” he says, “and [speaking out] has had a huge effect on my family. It’s had a huge effect on her, and on our relationship.”Because he [Bennell] produced the goods, because he was a good talent-spotter, a blind eye was turned by clubs. They were more interested in the talent. That’s the ruthless edge of football. That helped him get away with it
Ackley, who was abused until he was 14, later wrote about the blasé response to the documentary, citing one “particularly damning” review by a Telegraph journalist. “He wrote that he felt slightly sorry for the FA and that the programme was intimidating and unhelpfully scaremongering. I hope he’s revised his opinion now and followed events over the last year, when so many people found the courage to speak out about so many abusers at clubs all over Britain.”Everything was so impressive about him and he had this ability to make you feel special. He used to promise me he would make me a better player. He would tell me I was the best young midfield player he had ever seen, and that he would help me play for England, and I believed him
“When I think about my own life, that conversation is maybe the single best thing that’s ever happened to me. I felt worthwhile, validated, as if I’d been able to do something that really mattered. A life had been saved.”That would be the way of life back then – it was everyone’s dirty secret, wasn’t it? Everyone knew what was going on, but chose to look the other way
Most disturbingly, Woodward says he had to visit his abuser in Wymott prison, to ask Bennell to give him a statement. “That was horrendous. I went into child mode. Horrendous. I sat with him and his words to me were: I still love you. And I did that and I got in the car and I cried. But the reason behind it was I wanted to out that football club for what they did to me and so many others. They knew what was going on.”When I think about my own life, that conversation is maybe the single best thing that’s ever happened to me. I felt worthwhile, validated, as if I’d been able to do something that really mattered. A life had been saved
Webster explains that the coach’s position of power “forms the fundamental basis of the grooming process which can start long before physical abuse”.I sat with him and his words to me were: I still love you. And I did that and I got in the car and I cried. But the reason behind it was I wanted to out that football club for what they did to me and so many others. They knew what was going on
It’s a safer world now, he says, but it’s still a scary one. There is still a long way to go, especially at grassroots levels, but children, parents, clubs and coaches now have a far greater awareness of safeguarding issues as a result of the high-profile convictions
They will be like a band of brothers, for all the wrong reasons. Its really sad when you think about it but theyve all stuck together, better times are on the way for them all and they will make it will happen. The question should be who didn’t know unfortunately in the case of Andy Woodward, they all knew was word round the camp fire.
