Celtic face threat of multimillion pound compensation claim(The Times)

I see some people on here in the past saying that they won't join social media or left it because it's toxic, but this whole thing is appalling, what spotlight are typing has and will be largely ignored in Scotland because the people who are in control want it to be, this is why what's happened in the last couple of hours and days has been allowed to happen.

It might not have been you or your child it happened to before, but allowing this cover up to continue and the changes of law and words recently will make it more likely to happen to other people's kids in the future.

Try and do something about it by joining social media and spreading what Spotlight has found, it might, maybe, just reach that one person who will make all the difference and help to put an end to this cover-up.

When challenged they said they were in the middle of an internal investigation which was a front to put other concerned investigations off. During their internal investigation , which apparently lasted 2 years , not one of the victims was approached and the investigation completed with no case to answer with Kelly stating the rumours surrounding the accusations as scurrilous. There has been no investigation since.

I don’t want to sound patronising but please remember this. Spotlight exists for one reason. For the voices to be heard that suffered at the hands of that club. Spotlight will fight to the end no matter how long it takes.
Any normal human being would do the same. Unfortunately in our wee country we are classed as enemies of the state (if that’s the correct term)
I know that if you had heard the personal accounts that Spotlight have heard, and how it’s affected these gentlemen and their families then you would do the same.
This takes time and effort from a group of people that are just like you. We’re nothing special. We just decided to take it on.
What makes us proud is that people are listening. Not only journalists, but others use our research.
Nobody took us seriously when we started. Times have changed. The reason Spotlight continues is we state facts.
We thank you for all your kind words and please remember the people who suffered. A lot of them are on this forum.

I have been following Spotlight for quite a while. The support you have given to the surviving victims has been great. I would like to wish all of them all the best in the coming year.
Hopefully Justice will be done.

The work done by you guys is incredible and must be horrific. There must be some way of us normal punters helping out? Either admin wise or financially?

Sums them up perfectly. Their PR machine has the world thinking they are a charity, helping the poor and oppressed, when they are up to their necks in covering up the most heinous of crimes.

Huge respect to you @BN94 and the Spotlight team. There are very few people who will understand and appreciate fully just how difficult Spotlight's task is. Powerful people in high places don't want the truth to be known. But you are unravelling and reporting the whole poisonous affair in a way nobody in Scotland has done before.
When the survivors finally get justice Spotlight will have played an invaluable part in helping them get there. You and the team can be so proud of that. When MP's, MSP's, journalists, priests, police, football clubs, and the SFA have covered themselves in shame handling this scandal all of you can hold your head high and know that in the face of substantial adversity you put human compassion before self preservation. What an example to us all.

Great work by you & the team today again mate, but also, a reminder with the sample Spotlight have picked, about just how much the SMSM have ignored.

Many major issues just ignored for decades.

And it’s funny, reading some of these questions on our posts, because we know answers to them which should ensure jail for some & massive payouts to the victims & survivors.

Contact the authorities if you have information Ronnie. Unlike your club and fans, Spotlight want justice for all the victims, regardless of who they played for.
 
Been following you guys at spotlight for a while now & what a professional job you all are doing keep it up wish we all could help in some way , the question I would like to ask please don't answer if this could hamper anything that spotlight is working on but has Celtic put restraints on the media reporting this like employing legal teams to keep their secrets out of the main street media .

We know that certain individuals from the media attend every court case and also the class action.
The only thing they aren’t allowed to do is identify any of the victims.

Ronnie can’t even get simple facts right. He has a convenient & error ridden memory.

He asked why one guy wasn’t included in the SFA Review, who WAS in it, but ignored a handful of others who were excluded from it.

I’m sure you know the common denominator.

That’s the important thing with this clown. Facts. Something that Spotlight continually produce.
And then we have the previous threats. For what? Showing what their own official club newspaper printed?
Denial and deflection is what they specialise in when it comes to facts.
 
I see Alex Renton has investigated a former teacher at Fettes college who went on to become a primary teacher in South Africa that abused again. This was on Radio Scotland's news this morning. He is now charged which is great.

These stories take on an even greater sadness than before however, if that's at all possible, because we know of the neglect suffered at Celtic both in the abuse of the boys there and the subsequent cover up and stonewalling by the media/authorities. When you hear of investigations into a teacher's actions, and the gravitas it's afforded by the reporting, then it makes you sick that such a massive story can be deemed unworthy of proper investigation by the powers that be, all for their own gain.

As I’ve said many times you Team are a credit to yourself and you’re families and the survivors who have been ignored by their own families in some cases and some have even taken hush money over doing what was right for their boys will have a newfound spring in their steps knowing someone believes them. Money isn’t important to many as you and I know it’s the fact no one would listen to them and the ones who were listened to were made to feel guilty about themselves.

Keep on the path mate as your making a difference to the poor guys life’s , it doesn’t matter what colour strip they support or what team the bastards who abused the boys worked for as a lowlife is a lowlife
