Celtic face threat of multimillion pound compensation claim(The Times)

Thank you for reaching out to us. The work of the Boston Globe's Spotlight Team depends heavily on tips and material from the public.

Please excuse the form letter you're getting here, but please know that we review each communication and every tip goes into a master file. We respond to some relatively quickly, and others may be referred to beat reporters who we think are better able to address the issue.

In the master database, we also look for patterns and often re-review tips if new information emerges.

Thank you again for your information. We could not do our work if we didn't have the eyes and ears of the public to help us.

Sincerely,

Patricia Wen

So repeated contact on this story would be picked up on their system and likely to be investigated by the paper.

We all know what to do.

Thank you for contacting adidas and taking the time to bring to our attention details surrounding convictions made to individuals in association with Celtic Boys Club.

Our sympathies extend to the families who have been impacted from these convictions.

We hope you can appreciate that it would not be appropriate for us to provide any comment on such matters as The Celtic Football club is not currently a partner of the adidas Brand. As policy we also do not discuss any potential future partnerships until such time as those partnerships would be active.

We would like to stress however that adidas takes very seriously the actions and reputations of our partners, ensuring all partners have sufficient policies and procedures in place for the safe guarding of young people.

We have shared your concerns with the wider team and once again would like to thank you for sharing your concerns with us.

Kind regards,
adidas Team

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,

I am writing to you in regards to a major sporting scandal ,which has been circulating within Scotland for at least 50 years now, where a football club called GLASGOW CELTIC FC ,has had 6 boys club coaches/employees handed jail sentences for child sex abuse offences, committed within the football club grounds and on tours abroad also, one of which was a tour to new jersey in the 1990’s.
One of these coaches has been jailed TWICE now, after attempting to regain employment within the club, after his first conviction and a club photographer for the clubs official magazine, was caught with over 250 photographs of children in his locker within the stadium.
This is just the tip of the iceberg and this den of depravity needs broken down and exposed.

I have attached for your information a copy of a timeline of these historic offences for you to investigate hopefully. The similarity of these historic sexual crimes against children under their care, run parallel to your own sex crimes investigation ,which resulted in the film “spotlight”,it also runs systematically parallel with the sex crimes committed at your own PENN STATE football club, this is on the same scale ,with over 100 plus victims in discussions with lawyers on how to get justice and compensation for themselves.

At present, there are calls for a major, independent and transparent public inquiry to be held by a neutral body, but as yet,our own government in Scotland, the SNP party, led by our first minister Miss.Nicola Sturgeon have ignored calls for this inquiry and along with the justice secretary for Scotland ,Mr.Humza Yousaf ,have ignored all calls for an acknowledgement to the victims,or even to make comment on the historic sex crimes of this football club, nothing short of a national scandal and a world sporting scandal.

Some of the victims are alleged to have signed NDA’s ( non disclosures) to buy their silence but apparently there could be evidence of these lodged somewhere safe for the time being. There is also talk of a major documentary ,possibly on the level of the spotlight film to be aired, where this sordid den of depravity, will be in the main spotlight.
We really need, you and your paper to pick this story up and run with it,especially on the alleged crimes committed on AMERICAN SOIL.
These crimes have been committed and then covered up for 50 years,by a succession of club directors, allegedly involved in other corrupt financial deals,as well as being photographed in the company of some serious paedophiles, such as JIMMY SAVILLE,britains most notorious paedophile and britains shame,GLASGOW CELTIC are scotlands shame.

We have also made attempts to highlight this in local media outlets,be it national newspapers, social media, forums and radio etc,as yet,a few papers have run a few stories on it,but mostly, the papers are reluctant to put their heads above the parapet ,with the exception of a journalist called Mr.Marc Horne of the times newspaper, who has been delving into it and revealing the crimes to the wider public ,slowly but surely. We are fighting for justice for the victims of this football clubs sexual abuse crimes and need your help to expose these monsters for who and what they are,as you did with spotlight....CAN YOU HELP?....WILL YOU HELP?

Now,one of the crimes committed, allegedly took place on AMERICAN soil in new jersey in the 1990’s,when the boys club carried out a tour there and the youths stayed with parents of the opposition players as we understand,I have posted below for your information,a copy of the article, which appeared in the Scottish newspaper the daily record in 1996,once an allegation into this abuse was made.

i** i inserted the airport cover up story here

Now,this is just one article of many on the internet available to see, with the main paedophiles in jail at present being, JIM TORBETT...FRANK CAIRNEY ....JIM MC CAFFERTY....WITH MANY MORE TO BE REVEALED,ONCE THE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON THEM.

I hope you will seriously look into this story and in particular, the alleged crimes, which took place on AMERICAN SOIL and askquestions,as to why the police took no action and why the parent in question, decided to only report to the club and not the police,as any respecting parent would do.

I,along with others, sincerely hope that you will continue the fight against child sexual abuse crimes and take up the gauntlet and bring this sordid club down.

I would be grateful if you could also supply me with any other contact email addresses of journalist, whom you might think would investigate....first to the story in America....winner takes all.

Kind regards on behalf of the victims

But please know that every query about a possible error is taken seriously and thoroughly considered.

Strange that isn't it , every day you come on here for last few months probably something else appears that you don't remember reading about before. We are led to believe on here that certain journalists pull info from FF to put in their paper cause they are too f#cking lazy to do their own investigating so why don't one of you take some time and read all through this thread all 10,000+ posts, join the dots and write a report about it you could even ask for help if you get stuck with the spelling of Celtic Football Club this info or report is that big it won't fill the back page of your rag it will fill every f#cking page of it .....

Well done my friend.

Have you ( OR ANYBODY ELSE ) managed to get The Times guy Marc Horne’s email address BN ?

I want to push him on the possible LSE issue when I get back from holiday mate.

He’s highlighted in that last article about the Inquiry so it leads nicely into that question to him I think.

Best, GY

I got the same one today as well Tommy. It seems like we'll all get similar replies.

They say they're not currently a partner, but that doesn't matter. Whether it's Adidas, or any other possible associate in the future, it has to make them think twice about dealing with the scum and that's a result. It tarnishes their name, as it obviously should and everyone should know what's taken place in that vile club.

That airport meeting could be pure kryptonite to them jf1960,if it gets the American lawyers interested, the only stumbling block is Boston which is heaving with sympathisers.

That is a huge exaggeration. For most people in Boston, Celtic is a basketball team. Most have probably never heard of CFC or have zero interest in CFC. Estimates put Boston's Irish descendants at around 20%. That means 80% are not. Even those who do see themselves as 'Irish' are unlikely to have any sympathy with child abuse.

This is the USA we are dealing with and not Scotland where football and government are deeply intertwined. Bostonians don't owe Celtic anything.

This is correct. Catholics in America will not be sympathetic to Celtic.

When I see this sort of information that HollicomPR are removing archived info I wonder is this not the sort of thing a group like Anonymous would be interested in they seem like the sort of people who could perhaps find ways of getting to information that is ‘hidden’ from your normal internet detectives especially considering the massive cover up that this PR company are involved in, perhaps people like Anonymous could cause Hollicom some real problems.
The users on here & other forums are doing a fantastic job but I’m just trying to think outside the box & get interest from the wider world.

I can't find his email address unfortunately - his portfolio of work is at the link below, but no email address (although it looks like if you join this site you may be able to contact him through it):
https://muckrack.com/marc-horne
Tried The Times website and it says for editorial inquiries to email feedback@thetimes.co.uk - could well be worth emailing there asking for Marc Horne's details, or how to pass information to him if they are unable to give out his details.

Reply from Scottish ministers.

our ref.
23 July 2019.
Dear Sir.
Thank you for your emails on 27th 28th June to Scottish ministers. I have been asked to respond.
I understand that you have been in correspondence with Nadhim Zahawi. The Scottish government unreservedly condemns the abhorrent crime of sexual abuse.
Experiences of sexual abuse in Scottish football will have a profound and long lasting impact on those who were abused. Ensuring children can enjoy taking part in sport in a safe and secure environment-as well as giving parents confidence about the safety and well-being of their children-is a priority for the Scottish government.
You may be aware that the Scottish FA announced the terms of reference for an independent review of non-recent sexual abuse allegations in Scottish football on 2 February 2017. The interim report was published on 26 July 2018,allowing the Scottish FA to address some of the recommendations before the final report is published when current ongoing legal cases are concluded. The Scottish government will consider next steps when the final report is published.
Yours sincerely, Reagan Woodrow/policy officer/Scottish government/Active Scotland
