Dear Sir/Madam,
I want to make you aware that one of your associate members, namely Scottish Football Association, are proposing to hold a Child Protection Seminar on the premises of Celtic F.C. at their Parkhead stadium in March this year.

Given the child sexual abuse that has taken place by employees of the club for over 5 decades, on these premises, I think that this is a crass choice of venue.

Given the fact that there have been 4 criminal convictions of employees/representatives of that club, and given the fact that over 250 images of naked and semi naked young boys between 9 and 15 years of age were found in a storeroom on these premises, the decision to hold the seminar there needs investigated.

This choice of venue is upsetting, distressing and a kick in the teeth for the scores of boys abused there.

As U.E.F.A. advocate Fairness, Equality, and Respect , I would hope that your organisation show respect for the victims and contact the S.F.A. to ascertain Who chose this venue and Why?, As it is totally inappropriate.

Look forward to your reply

Yours sincerely
R.K.
Best of luck getting a reply from him, I have been waiting since August last year, after ceptic fans threw missiles at Cluj players. Just bog standard replies from him.

Unfortunately money doesn’t fix everything for everyone despite how high a compo is but that is the sort of figure each individual should be getting from cbc, that is a barometer imo

In his case, the sentencing is more in line with what most think should be considered as the minimum, yet the Celtc gang seem to have leniency despite multiple serial offenders being common.

A paedophile who preyed on vulnerable children in care homes has been jailed for four years a decade after he was released from prison.

Gordon Knott was originally sentenced to 16 years in prison in 1997 after he was convicted of 10 sex crimes against eight boys and a girl.

The children were in Edinburgh's Clerwood and Glenallan children's homes in the 1970s and 1980s.

His latest conviction came after two new victims contacted police.

The men testified at a new trial at the High Court in Edinburgh that they had also been targeted by Knott.

'Predatory sexual abuse'
The 64-year-old was one of the first male house parents to be employed in Edinburgh children's homes to look after disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

Both victims said that as children in the local authority care system they were made to carry out sex acts on the man employed to look after them.

A jury earlier found Knott guilty of three charges of indecency against the two victims committed at Clerwood, at Arthur's Seat in the city and at an address in the Liberton area between 1973 and 1981.

A judge told Knott: "You have been convicted by the jury of the repeated, calculated and predatory sexual abuse of two young boys while you were responsible for their care in children's home."

Lady Scott pointed out that the former house father had terrified victims and rather than protecting them he had abused them.

Knott, from Carstairs, South Lanarkshire, had denied the latest offences.

'Sickening attacks'
Defence solicitor advocate Brian Gilfedder said his client had acted as a carer following his release from his previous jail sentence in 2008.

Knott was placed on the sex offenders' register for life.

The NSPCC welcomed the sentence.

A spokesman for the charity said: "Knott held a position of responsibility over children but abused it appallingly to carry out a series of sickening attacks on children.

"After leaving a trail of victims spanning decades, it is right that he is now back behind bars.

"The victims who have most recently come forward have shown a great deal of courage, helping to ensure their abuser has again faced justice.

"Abuse ruins childhoods and its devastating effects can last into adulthood."

The spokesman added: "It is vitally important that victims have the confidence to come forward, no matter how much time has passed, so offenders can be brought to justice and survivors can finally receive help and support."

Bennell and Torbett were pioneers in their vision and dept, but behind the no doubt abilities to spot footballing talent and unearth early starlets was a more sinister motive,Torbett was the Scottish Bennell imo.

As said by the brave Andy Woodward.

AW: This is an interesting one. There was no doubt he was a fantastic football coach, years ahead of his time as far as tactical awareness was concerned. And he hated losing: in all my years in the game I’ve never met anyone who wanted to win as much as he did. But now that I think about it, that kind of mindset was indicative of who he was, what he did. He was a highly intelligent man who believed the normal rules of society didn’t apply to him, that he could do what he wanted, with whoever he wanted. Bennell had a classic narcissistic personality; a massive ego. He didn’t care about anyone else’s feelings or aspirations, it was all about him, so being the best coach he could be, was important to him, not only because it enabled him to act as he did, but also because it fed his massive levels of self-interest.

And he says other coaches were friends

AW: I honestly don’t know. All I can say is that all of the coaches knew each other and maintained regular contact about players and tactics. I don’t know of any young footballer who was passed around for sexual purposes, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was a possibility.

This is what the Aussies are up against. Corrupt judiciary and politicians doing the work of Rome. Sickening
I see red when I think about the Red Mass. The Red Mass is a Catholic mass said at the end of each January for the legal fraternity marking the beginning of the legal year. The Red Mass is a European tradition dating back to the year 1310 in England and earlier in Paris — 1245.
An invitation to attend the Melbourne Red Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral appeared on the Victorian Bar website. The Victorian Bar is a “professional association of barristers”. The invitation reads: “As this is Archbishop Comensoli’s first Red Mass since becoming Archbishop of Melbourne, it is important for the legal community of Melbourne to welcome His Grace with as many members of the profession in attendance as possible.”

This is the same archbishop who recently said he would defy new child protection laws rather than report admissions of child sexual assault made in the confessional. Victoria recently passed legislation removing clergy exemption from mandatory reporting of a reasonable belief that a child has been sexually abused. Archbishop Peter Comensoli said he would rather go to jail than obey the new law.

Why should our legal profession “welcome” such a man? A man who publicly announced his intention to commit a crime? And not just any crime, one that disobeys child safety laws? The archbishop is the highest-ranking cleric of the Catholic Church in Victoria. Many clergy obey and follow him. Priests have promised obedience to him. Comensoli’s words and actions are replicated in communities all over Victoria. Why should the legal fraternity welcome someone who dictates that priests should commit a criminal offence by failing to report to the police information about child sexual abuse?

The new law lifting the secrecy of confession was debated in the Victorian parliament last August 29. It was an extraordinary day in parliament. At least 15 members of parliament rose and stated how shocked they were that the Archbishop of Melbourne would choose to protect paedophiles rather than children. Their anger was palpable. And angry they should be, for the reality of Comensoli’s words is to knowingly allow adults to continue to rape and sexually assault children. The archbishop is apparently happy to hear admissions of crimes against children and just let child molesters and rapists go unpunished, unchecked and uncured. This failure to obey the law would allow sexual crimes against children to continue for decades.

In 2003 Catholic priest Michael McArdle swore an affidavit stating that during confession he had disclosed more than 1500 times that he was sexually assaulting children. He made this confession to 30 different priests over 25 years. Not one of those 30 priests stopped him. For decades they just forgave him. This is precisely the situation Comensoli says should remain. What finally stopped McArdle was not the church, but a child going to the police. The church could have reported him to police decades earlier and saved countless children.

The Red Mass invitation also states: “A procession of judges, magistrates, tribunal members, judicial registrars, court officials and barristers will precede Archbishop Comensoli into the Cathedral.” That is a powerful line-up to honour and respect the archbishop. It concludes: “After Mass the judiciary, members of the legal profession, staff and their families are invited to join Archbishop Comensoli for morning tea in the Cathedral Presbytery.”

What message does this send to our community? What faith should we have in the legal system when there are public displays of support by the legal fraternity for particular institutions?

Cardinal George Pell was the archbishop of Melbourne from 1996 until 2001. Pell would have conducted his first Red Mass in January 1997 at St Patrick’s Cathedral. As archbishop, he would have presided over any judges, magistrates, tribunal members, judicial registrars, court officials and barristers in attendance. While the legal fraternity was honouring Pell with its presence and socialising with him afterwards, the reality was that he would later appear before them in the courts. He was subsequently convicted of sexual offending against two boys about the time of that Red Mass.

In Australia the child abuse royal commission established that of all complaints of child sexual abuse in religious institutions the Catholic Church attracted most with 61.8 per cent of the complaints. The next worst was the Anglican Church with 14.7 per cent. The Catholic Church has had a much larger problem with child sex abuse than any other religious organisation in Australia.

After everything we have learnt through first the Victorian parliamentary inquiry and then the royal commission, I would rather our judiciary did not honour and support Catholic clergy with its presence. We all now know the shocking truth of the church’s history of widespread sexual abuse of children and the cover-ups. Why should the legal fraternity demonstrate public support for such an institution?

What is the purpose of the Red Mass get-together with the judiciary? Why is it necessary? Does the Catholic hierarchy hold a Red Mass for housewives? Or apprentices? Or unmarried mothers? Or students? Or doctors? Victims of clerical abuse need know the judiciary is impartial.

Perhaps judges, magistrates, tribunal members, judicial registrars, court officials and barristers should reconsider attending this event.

Instead, consider the thousands of Australian children caught in the clergy machine — a tag team of offenders with friends in high places, such as archbishops, to protect them. Instead, think of the ordinary members of our community who want our justice system to give them confidence in the idea that we are all equal before the law.
Archbishop Comensoli also said in a radio interview a few months ago that he believes Cardinal Pell is innocent...

Frank Cairney was manager of Celtic Boys Club from 1974 to 1991

A former senior figure at Celtic FC’s feeder club is facing charges of sexual abuse, The Times can disclose.

Frank Cairney, 84, served as manager of Celtic Boys Club from 1974 until 1991. A Crown Office spokeswoman confirmed Mr Cairney has been charged and is involved in a “live solemn case”.

The Times understands that the charges relate to the alleged sexual abuse of young people. It is expected that Mr Cairney, of Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, will appear in court within months. A source said: “A court date hasn’t been set up at the moment. It is going to be held either at the high court or in front of a sheriff and jury.”

Police Scotland declined to comment, saying it was now a matter for the Crown Office.

Mr Cairney took over as general manager of Celtic Boys Club in 1974. He replaced Jim Torbett, the founder of the boys’ club, who was jailed for two years in 1998 and for six years in November 2018 for a string of sex attacks against boys who had been in his care.

In 1986 Mr Cairney contributed an article to a souvenir brochure produced to mark the 20th anniversary of Celtic Boys Club. He wrote: “We have helped to make a lot of young boys happy. It makes me even happier to think we are fulfilling a role in their development.

“I will have special thoughts for every boy who has represented the boys’ club during the 20 years of our existence.”

Mr Cairney left the boys’ club in 1991 after leading 20 teenagers and five adults on a summer tour to New Jersey.

Jim McCafferty, 73, a former Celtic Boys Club coach and Celtic FC kitman was jailed for six years and nine months last May for abusing young players. Gerald King, 66, a boys’ club chairman, was convicted in December 2018 of abusing children at a school in Glasgow while he was a teacher, but avoided jail.

Why is it only The Times that seems to report on these things early?

Don’t think this government would be interest in the slightest with this, not the SFA for that matter
Your probably right but it's about time the Government of whichever Country is involved took some responsibility for children's welfare because it is more of a problem than we realised . The BBC in particular should be named and shamed publicly and made to apologise for allowing the paedophile rat Savile the freedom he got to abuse youngsters and them turning a blind eye while knowing full well what was going on just because of his fund raising and of course that mob from the east end are every bit as bad for turning a blind eye to what was going on at the boy's club and within their premises .

The Scottish Sun is now also running the story...

ABUSE CLAIMS Ex-Celtic Boys Club coach Frank Cairney ‘facing sex abuse charges’

A FORMER Celtic Boys Club coach is allegedly facing sex abuse charges.

Frank Cairney, 84, served as manager of Celtic Boys Club from 1974 until 1991.

The Times reports that he has been charged and is involved in a “live solemn case”.

And it's understood that charges relate to alleged sexual abuse of young people.
He is now expected to appear in court within months.

A source said: “A court date hasn’t been set up at the moment.

"It is going to be held either at the high court or in front of a sheriff and jury.”

Celtic FC has been approached for comment by the Scottish Sun.

Three men associated with Celtic Boys Club have been found guilty of abusing young kids, prompting claims of a paedophile ring.

The Parkhead side has expressed “regret and sorrow” for the victims but insist they are not legally responsible as the boys club was a separate organisation.

Former Celtic Boys Club coaches Jim McCafferty, 73, and Jim Torbett, 71, were caged for sexually abusing starlets.

Ex-club chairman Gerald King, 66, dodged prison last year despite being found guilty of targeting five kids.

I’m sure the excuse was on health grounds if I remember right?
Your probably right BN94 , do you notice with those animals that when the time comes to appear in court to answer for their crimes , the majority of them arrive in crutches or wheelchairs and I always think when I see them on the News etc., It's like that bluegrass banjo tune " Cripple Creek "and think to myself there was F*ck all wrong with you when you were interfering with kids you F*ckin' cowardly rat so just accept the punishment your due and I hope you get locked up beside Big Bubba  .

Dear Sir/Madam,
I note with vested interest that one of your spokespersons commented on the case of Gordon Knott, a convicted paedophile who abused two young boys in his care at Clerwood childrens home in Edinburgh.

Your spokesperson welcomed his sentence and quoted the following to the S.M.S.M., “Knott held a position of responsibility over children but abused it appallingly to carry out a series of sickening attacks on children.
Abuse ruins childhoods and it’s devastating effects can last into adulthood. It is vitally important that victims have the confidence to come forward , no matter how much time has passed, so offenders can be brought to justice and survivors can finally receive help and support.”

It is highly commendable that your organisation is taking this view and stance, as portrayed through your spokesperson, highlighting your disgust towards abusers and showing your empathy for the survivors.

However it is extremely disappointing and disturbing that the N.S.P.C.C. views on child sexual abuse are selective and inconsistent.

I have previously written to you asking for your condemnation regarding the hundreds of cases of child sexual abuse committed at Celtic F.C. and Celtic Boys Club over a 5 decade period, only to be met with stony silence.

Why is this the case?, the survivors of this abuse also need help and support, as they have also suffered the same traumas, as the poor victims of Knott.

Is it your view, that the actions and behaviours of Gordon Knott are different to those of Jim Torbett, Jim McCafferty, Frank Cairney and Gerald King, all criminally convicted of abusing young boys at Celtic F.C and Celtic Boys Club?

It would certainly help to bring more of the alleged offenders who operated at Celtic to justice and would also as you say, help the survivors receive the help and support they have been denied for more than 5 decades, if your organisation condemned the Celtic F.C. and Celtic Boys Club abusers with the same gusto and vigour as you did with Gordon Knott.

Look Forward to your reply.
Yours Sincerely
R.K.

I think that whole becoming a PLC in 1994 will come into play. The Irony will be rich.

Any other organisation would have been shutdown by now. How the catholic church and Celtic get away with these horrible crimes God only knows. Horrific.
I agree. They should be shutdown but I very much doubt that will happen. The reason they have got away with it for so long is because there has been a concerted effort to cover it up by the powers at be running the club throughout the years.

Names like Jock Stein and Billy McNeil to name a few have known exactly what has gone on. Let’s be honest here, what does “open secret” actually mean? It means they knew but failed the victims and put their beloved rancid club before the children that played for the boys club.

Another problem we have had when dealing with this issue is the Celtic apologists that exist within the Scottish government. Now no way am I going to turn this into a political statement, but is there another country on this earth where a justice secretary would do nothing for the victims and families of child abuse? The answer to that is no but we know exactly where his loyalties lie.

I can assure everyone that has followed this that what we are doing in the background is being noticed. Not only in this country but abroad. The effort from people in the background is amazing. We have traced individual’s that let’s say were thought to be untraceable.

You also mention the Catholic religion/cult. That corrupt cult has existed for centuries. We know we are up against this also. We have seen first hand the lengths they will go to to hide their crimes.

Going back to Celtic. The only way they will be punished in our opinion is for a full independent inquiry to be launched. That way the world will see exactly what crimes they have committed. The documentary that is coming will highlight this. Hopefully UEFA/FIFA on the football front reference punishment will have no choice but to sanction the club. Who knows what will happen.

Our aim is to show the world the crimes this club has committed and the individuals involved brought to justice. We’ve done ok so far. We’re not done yet though. When you here the stories from victims then that’s what gives us the fight. It’s heartbreaking.

And I would just like to echo previous comments. Well done to all the gentleman doing the hard work behind the scenes. I'm sure I am not alone in applauding you guys (and ladies?) for what you are doing. And perhaps more importantly you are doing what the authorities in Natzi Scotland should be doing, and that of course is doing the RIGHT thing

They see themselves as a Heavenly authority (dont laugh) and therefore cannot be subject to earthly kings, courts or governments. This has been going on since before the days of Magna Carta, they have a seat at the UN,EU and unfluence world policy and themselves are not subject to common law. However brave men and women have long fought and challenged them, and on many occasion defeated them. I absolutely loathe this entity and hope for their total demise.

No one should be in any doubt just what the guys on here are doing. Celtic are affiliated to the catholic church, one of the most powerful organisations on earth.

After the facism that took place last century leading to ww2, one organisation benefited from this when Mussolini gave the vatican statehood. The fact it wasn't taken back off them tells you the power it has.

Jailed Celtic Boys’ Club beast Jim Torbett could face another trial over new allegations that he sexually abused a schoolboy.

It is claimed Torbett preyed on the youngster in a toy shop in Glasgow and abused him at a flat in the city.

The Record can reveal that the alleged victim, Gordon Woods, has given a formal statement to police.

He is now a businessman in his 60s.

Torbett is serving his second sentence for the systematic sexual abuse of boys over decades.

The 72-year-old was jailed for six years in November 2018 following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

He denied all the allegations against him but was convicted of abusing three boys between August 1986 and August 1994.

The paedophile was also jailed for two years in 1998 for abusing three Celtic Boys’ Club players between 1967 and 1974.

Gordon, who first revealed his alleged ordeal in October, said yesterday: “I owe it to myself and others to report this to the police.”

He was interviewed at his home and added: “They were very understanding. The process lasted about five hours and I have now made a formal complaint.

“I’ll leave it in the hands of the authorities to see what happens next.”

Gordon waived his right to anonymity because he wants Torbett to know who he is.

He said: “I want him to remember me and I want him to think about what he did to me. I also want him to know that I will not be silenced any more.”

Gordon claims he was twice taken to the toy shop in Maryhill Road, Glasgow, by Torbett in the 60s, when he was 13.

He said another man who was involved with Torbett – and Celtic Boys’ Club – was present on one of the occasions.

Gordon told the Record in October: “One of the times in the toy shop, when it was closed for lunch, Torbett took me into the storeroom or back room of the shop. He attempted to rape me and then carried out a sex act.

“I remember thinking that the door was open and the other man was in the shop. I thought that was why the door was left open – so the other man could see in.”

He said he was also abused on two occasions by Torbett at a flat in Pinkston Drive, Glasgow.

Gordon added: “I never played a competitive game for Celtic Boys’ Club. I wasn’t good enough.

“I now know Torbett kept me going to training for the simple reason I’d be a sitting duck for his predatory behaviour.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Inquiries are at an early stage and it would be
inappropriate to comment.”

JAILED Celtic Boys Club perv Jim Torbett could go on trial over allegations he abused a lad in a toy shop.
A former player at the club made the claims that he was attacked in the store in Glasgow when he was just 13.
Gordon Woods, who is now in his 60s, previously claimed he was taken to the Maryhill Road shop twice in the 1960s.
Now the Daily Record reports that he has given a formal statement to police.
Torbett was jailed for a second time in 2018 for sexually abusing young players.
He was locked up for six years after a judge said he used the football team as a “recruiting ground” to prey on boys.
Torbett targeted two teenagers including one who worshipped him as a “hero”.
He also abused a five year-old boy at a trophy business Torbett once owned in Glasgow's southside.
Gordon has waived his right to anonymity to tell his story.
He now says that he spoke to cops for hours about the alleged ordeal.
He said: “I owe it to myself and others to report this to the police.”

How much longer before there's a group lawsuit by victims who sue Celtic for not protecting them.

It's clear as day there was a paedophile ring operating who were in their roles to help Celtic FC.

Don't suppose the Lawwell independent investigation has reached a conclusion yet...
Any potential civil action will need to wait for the conclusion of pending police investigations and resulting prosecutions.

Well done Gordon for reporting that animal , I hope any other victims can find the same courage as yourself and put these predators where they belong , the World will be a safer place without these perverts contaminating it .
