Celtic fan convicted of punching 3 police horses

I do think it’s quite telling that the police officer described this as one of the worst riots they’ve ever encountered yet it hardly made a ripple within the Scottish press.
Compare and contrast that with the outrage from the mhedia at our game at Kilmarnock at the start of the season when some fans came onto the park , fair enough one made an ar#e of himself by jumping on the roof of the disabled supporters area but the fans on the park are a regular occurrence , notably last season at Rugby park when celtic scored late into injury time and when we played them and last year when played them for most of the game with ten men and we gifted them a late winner , hardly a word of condemnation from the mhedia on either occasion

poets had a banner in support of him on Wednesday.

Keep the faith KM.

Riddy.

Just to highlight the type of people they are in case anyone needs reminding.
It should have been removed and those involved ( who will be known ) told not to return to a Celtic game - That is assuming they were a Club with any sense of decency.

guy in his 30s should be going to the game with friends and/or family ffs.

At what point in life do you feel the need to punch a horse.

What exactly is going on in your head that makes you feel that is a proportionate action to take to any given situation.

You can really only conclude the man in question is not in possession of all he faculties and a full mental assessment is required before he is violent to other animals.

Mid 30s and running about punching horses, what a moron. At that age he should he be taking the kids to the football, like a normal person.

At what point do you think its ever acceptable to punch an animal? He should be jailed and made to box out the police horses stables each day.

The precedent has been set for a Newcastle fan was arrested for punching a police horse and subsequently jailed for 12 months and banned from football for six years , so it will be interesting to see what his sentence will be for punching three police horses.

A football yob was convicted today of punching three police horses during a riot before a cup match.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court Kevin McGuire, 36, was found guilty of “causing unnecessary suffering” to police horses Nerston, Oban and Glasgow in January last year, before kick-off in a Scottish Cup clash between Celtic and Airdrie.

Celtic fan McGuire, who was previously banned from every football ground in the UK, was described as a "prime mover" in the violence orchestrated against police.

McGuire, who was represented by lawyer Michael McKeown, claimed he was just an innocent bystander.

Sheriff John McCormick told McGuire: “You weren't an innocent bystander that had been caught up.
"You were a prime mover in the disruption at Celtic Park.

"The police were reacting proportionally to what was coming to them by the group of Celtic supporters.

"This was an extremely serious matter being part of a group that assaulted police by throwing missiles, spitting at them and punching police horses and their riders.

"You have a record which includes a breach of the peace with a football aggravation and were the subject of a football banning order.”

Sergeant Mark Stewart, who was at the match with his horse Oban, described the incident outside Celtic Park to prosecutor Alistair Knox as the worst riot he had ever seen.

Sgt Stewart said: “When I got there, Airdrie fans were being blocked from getting into the ground by Celtic fans.

“There were families trying to get in and bricks and missiles getting flung as well as spitting and throwing lit cigarettes.

“It was very aggressive and this was the worst I riot had ever seen.”

The officer told the court that McGuire was "directing others" during the violent incident and said he saw McGuire attack the three police horses outside the ground.

He added: “I asked him to move and he punched my horse Oban on the muzzle which caused him to react.
“It was a full blown punch and he also punched police horse Glasgow on the face.”
Sgt Stewart said another police horse Nerston was also punched later on.

McGuire, a cafe owner from Cardonald, was also convicted of assaulting two police officers and acting in a threatening and abusive manner.

Sheriff McCormick deferred sentence on McGuire for background reports and remanded him in custody.

He thought they were sniffer horses

that this mob are described as an anti racist group by the scottish media, kind of tells you what we are up against, a bigger bunch of anti rangers sectarian bigots you will not meet.
Definitely need some kind of campaign to oust this mob for what they are. Whilst we argue about what our ex players say or what the board doesn't, this is where we should be aiming our scorn and trying to embarrass the people who back them.

the main faces behind them seem to have a lot of friends in high places, hence why they are a law unto themselves and no one seems to investigate what this mob are really about.

The fact she gets a gig on question time shows this. I dont know a lot about them, but surely someone does without it just being gossip. Get it out there with facts, be it writing to certain newspapers and online about their real agenda and expose who's giving them a free pass.

Further to earlier posts I was at this match, what a farce the night was:- Yes around 100 of Airdrie's Section B made their way through the Barras and Gallowgate with none of Scotland's finest (so much for their intelligence) around until they went into panic mode and sent the cavalry charging to meet the mob. Of course the Green Brigade were nowhere to be seen - they decided to meet the Airdrie supporters buses (full of old and young, women and no fans looking for a fight) near to the stadium and duly lobbed their coins, stones, bottles etc...the YouTube video is incorrectly titled as no Section B were there. Once again though PC Plod failed in their duty as they were unprepared for those Celtic fans.

The embarrassment continued inside the ground as on 35 minutes an IRA ditty was sung (no comment from the media), a Celtic fan ran onto the pitch at the end of the game to try and get at Airdrie keeper Hutton (no comment from the media) and after the match the video in this thread with the barriers is the Green Brigade.

Not forgetting the Pride of the Clyde minibus that let off its Celtic occupants between Bridgeton Cross and the Barras so they could run into Kent Street to confront the Section B (sorry lads you had your chance before the game but never appeared).

Celtic fans defflect, deny and lie - the truth of that night is the Green Brigade never showed up in their Barras stronghold before the game - they were too busy lobbing objects at innocent Airdrie fans just outside the ground. This coupled with embarrassing policing made it a truly shameful night.

Is that the same mentally challenged who was stirring the trouble with the osijek fans in the tall cranes?

To be honest they all look alike to me.

This lady's front bottom is a fucking stain on society.

Stains like him should be wiped away
