Celtic fans unhappy with £52 ticket price for Ibrox

Exactly. The whole notion that anyone who is entering Parkhead, Pittodrie or Almondvale is thinking "Phew, glad I bought the ticket, that's another £X into a rival". It would never cross anyone's mind.

But for the sake of putting a point across this nonsense is actually spouted.
Doesn't matter if it crosses your mind or not, it is a fact, is it not?

My friends are all self made and have known them since we all worked on various jobs for Companies. not one of them go on about themselves as 'working class' because they have always been working class.
I'll ask you, Would you rather have a chance? of a ticket for Parkhead or let 7000 extra Rangers fans in The Broomloan

That's a nil argument to try and draw me into as I haven't been to Parkhead for a long time and have no interest in obtaining a ticket for my personal use.

The fact that our allocation is always sold out and sought after backs up your theory.

Personally I haven't been since 2009/2010 season, but would never slate/talk nonsense over anyone who does want to go there to support our team at any opportunity.
I have already said I understand why they go but to deny anyone is funding them is the real nonsense

It's a couple of months ago now, but I was talking to someone, might even have been a yahoo in work and he said, Johnny Hayes?, took 1300 pounds off a guy for two tickets for the game at Ibrox last December. Thirteen hundred sovs for two comps.

He even said when the yahoo handed over an envelope with the cash inside before the match, Hayes was starting to count it in front of him.

Quite unbelievable if true. Although a fleeced and ultimately fecked off yahoo is a happy thing.
That’s fucking mental if true

No I didn't, I stated they are helping to finance them. Am I wrong?
I said they care more about getting a ticket

Your Post #391

"I hope we never give Celtic any more tickets than the corner.
The only people that think different are the selfish individual like yourself that care about funding this rancid Club."

Do you genuinely think fans buying a ticket for Parkhead care about financing this rancid Club or care about going to watch Rangers (hopefully) win?

Was it ever answered where the 'spare' tickets go for the OF games?

In theory the 3k-4k tickets that are on public sale for every other game should be available, but they never put these on general sale.

Did the mhanky mob do it for the 7k-8k tickets they'd have to punt?

The other point with this is that you need to charge both sets of fans the same, so Rangers charging them £52 a ticket means that the 3k-4k extras we have are priced the same. Similarly at the piggery whatever they charge us needs to be charged to their own fans for the extra available tickets.

That’s fucking mental if true

I couldn't tell you bud. I'm only quoting what was quite sweet music to my ears.

The thought of a non entity at the rancids shafting a regular punter is just wonderful.

I just can't get my head around a dumpling, who is probably set up for life, wanting anything for two free tickets. No way could I envisage doing that to one of my own.

Thing is, if true, then that word of mouth spreads.

And hey, who doesn't like a dollop of negativity about the filth.

I think it’s pathetic that we our support is arguing about having and not having more bears at the piggery.

The right decision was made with regards to our supporters being housed at Ibrox and that is coming from somebody who goes to every domestic away game if I get a ticket.

Let them have the piggery, I am over it. Some people need to get over it too, I get it though it’s a bastard missing out on a ticket but it is the correct decision.

I think if you think otherwise it’s really daft or selfish.

So we automatically forget we are there to support the away team .....

See this where you fail Robert you claim to only care about getting the fans to Ibrox but fail to realise the passion and commitment of the away following ( unless it was beneficial to you of course)

Hope the Tim's get it , it will do us good too

Them winning every game in the Europa League between now and the last 16 (the earliest stage we could meet them) would ultimately do us good.

Can I assume you'd be happy to see that happen?

They probably have a right to, £52 is a disgrace (as is the 42, 44, 49 of the last few years)
But it's still the hottest ticket in town and for every one person that can't afford it there is probably a dozen that will. But would they not have to agree to it,no doubt they'll do the same.

@ChiefWahoo, why you even trying to get someone to see sense who works in a Profession that wants to see poorer families punished for taking their kids on holiday at a time they can afford it?
I dealt with this sort of mindset for years.
When I was a kid, teachers were respected because they took the time to try and educate all the children in their care.
When I joined the School Board, I had the utmost respect for Teachers, I was soon disillusioned
In my personal experience, they only care about themselves, their promotion prospects, and their Pensions.
They have poorly paid Classroom Assistant that they never cared about
and these people who had to fight for years to get their pay rise they were due, only at the end of the dispute did teachers even speak about it.
Try to get one of them to take out of school activities, good luck with that.
Socialist's my arse
. One of them told me at a PTA meeting that they were the most important Profession in the UK and without them, no one would be educated, I replied that without Plumbers for water and Sanitation and Electricians for power and heating, School's couldn't function.
She sat there in silence.

I could give you loads of instances of their self-importance.
As I said, this was my personal appearance and I am not suggesting they are all the same.

What an utterly ridiculous post. Let's take the bits in bold:

1. I don't believe this and neither does Education Scotland or the Scottish Government.
2. "They" - do you mean the ones that you worked with, or all teachers? Because that post suggests all of them.
3. Yeah, that's right, I treat my classroom assistants like dirt
My partner works as a classroom assistant and is criminally underpaid. It's one of the most important jobs in the school.
4. Eek. Just misconceptions, lies and not a lot of evidence.
5. Paid up member of the Tory Party you're talking to, here.
6. Good for you. Spot on. A barman was once rude to me. Haven't hated all barman since.
7. Oh right, they're not all the same. Your post was almost entirely irrelevant, then.

I have read some wayward posts in FF over the years, but this once takes the biscuit, and Chief Wahoo is probably suitably embarrassed not to reply to such drivel.

All this for arguing that a working class sport should remain at working class prices :D

You could charge £200 and it would sell out, doesn't make it right.

Don't stop at 200. Why not charge 300, 400, 500 quid - we already have reports of a Celtic player paying 1200 quid for two tickets. It could sell out at lots of prices.

Clearly these prices are ridiculous but supporting a principle that could allow that to happen is, I believe, deeply immoral.

I don’t know about a Celtic player paying £1200 for two tickets but I can confirm that the defender they signed from Dundee, can’t remember his name, was selling tickets for a game against us at a massive mark up. He was warned not to be doing it again or suffer the consequences by a well known Celtic fan and gangster.

Not from fans I meet. You would be shocked by the number of our fans that would and have refused a ticket for Parkhead
So you saying say Rangers got celtic in Scottish cup Q/F and hyptheticaly speaking Rangers took 10000 tickets u saying any bear offered a ticket would knock it back?

%^*& them. They can go on hunger strike with the full family for a fortnight to buy a ticket if they want one

The 5% rule wouldn't over-ride safety though. We got less than the specified allocation for the sheep because of safety.

Where could we put 2,500 of them and keep all fans safe? Bottom or top of Broomloan isn't viable, and doing just half of Broomloan creates problems in the concourse.

It'll be the same at their place.

It's a ruse to feck up the amount of support we have in the Ibrox fixtures.

It’s good to know that the selfish entitled for the most part have to give way to thousands of extra Broomie Bears. And long may it continue.

I'll reply to you this one last time
! Glasgow fines parents who take the kids out of school during School term.
2, Everyone of them

3 I have never met you, so I don't understand why you are talking about yourself
If your partner, he/she is so underpaid, I hope you made representation to the SB to get them a rise
4 Which branch are you a member
5 she wasn't rude to me but uncaring about the kids.
Never said they were all the same but my personal experience

Football has not been working Class for a long time.

1. "Unlike in England the local authority has no power to fine for an unauthorised school absence north of the border." Doesn't happen in Glasgow, a council I don't work for in any case, and I don't support fining families anyway, so its relevance here is somewhat lost on me.

2. Okay, so all teachers are like that. Fair enough. I'd never have the confidence to tar all people with a certain occupation with the same brush, but you go right ahead.

3. See 2. You also twice copied in ChiefWahoo by mentioning that I was a teacher, reasons for which are still beyond me other than a suspicion that I fall under these categories as well. Otherwise there is literally no point in what you're saying. It's the equivlent of me diverting a thread about Ryan Kent's mooted return to talk about what a poor job the plumber did of the bathroom.

4. None of your business if this is to be your last post.

5. Maybe I've misinterpreted your post, but I think you have already said that? Apologies if not.

6. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be.

Anyway, if this is to be your last reply, it's probably for the best, since you've diverted the thread to post your gripes about your experiences with teachers in a thread about that was originally about ticket prices, and ChiefWahoo has flat-out refused to join in. If you want to criticise teachers and education in general, start a thread in the Lounge.

I have no idea your age but I have been going to Ibrox for over 50 years, have had a SB/ST since 1971 so I do not need anyone to tell me about the Passion of the Rangers Support.
I hope we never give Celtic any more tickets than the corner.
The only people that think different are the selfish individual like yourself that care about funding this rancid Club.
Can you explain what you believe would be 'beneficial' to me?
Ps I have friends in Hospitality who offer me tickets to all of the difficult away fixtures which are hard to get tickets for. I always refuse them on the grounds that I would be stopping a fan that goes to most away games.

No you don't refuse them ....

Don't be ridiculous, these are Professional footballers that are there to do a job.
One of our best ever victories away from home was achieved with only a handful of fans.
We went 13 years without a League victory at Parkhead and we had 30000 fans there
We do need a strong vocal backing at the piggery

The spare tickets are divided between supporters clubs and Rangers guests AFAIK, where any secondary tickets go is anyones guess as they dont appear for re-sale and the SLO had trouble answering this question last season.
