Eddy cut from £40m down to £25m and one of their star midfielders heading south......or is it more media spin?
A few interesting linked stories at the bottom of there although I don’t think football insider has any insider info.

Even if they somehow managr to get decent money for Edouard, Christie, Ajer and Ntcham... It isn't going to cover what they have to do. This year's massive losses, next year's massive losses (who's going to take up a season ticket and buy loads of merch, after this season and loss of earnings during the pandemic) and finally a complete squad rebuild, they'll be needing 8-10 players, maybe more come the summer.

Being honest, Edouard is a good player. However, he is totally disinterested and hasn’t kicked his back side all season. 1 non penalty league goal in about 17 or 18 league games and 1 year left on his contract should seriously harm any fee they are going to get.
They'll still get a decent fee, annoyingly they are rather good at getting undeserved fees for players. In saying that it will be a fraction of what they hoped for and a lot of it will be eaten up by PSGs sell on clause. I could see 18-20 million this month but come the end of the season it will be less than Dembele.

No club is going to throw 20 million at Celtic for an out of form 23 year old in the summer, when they could wait it out and sign him on a pre contract in December (Scottish contracts run to the end of may not June). Ajer and Christie will be a lot lower aswell.

If they’re that desperate surely all the power lies with the buying clubs/player? That’s what we’ve been told all these years. Lucky to get double digit millions IMO.

This all day long.I remember their bragging and posturing from top to the very bottom it will never be forgotten.
Spunked it all on a load of old shit. Now first offer for ed will be a gimme. All we’ve heard is how Alfie’s form has damaged his value but everyone at mordor is worth at least £20 million.McGregor ,Christie, nae neck, ayer ,pingpong. if they can get money they will be gone.

If we couldn't get 20 for Morelos in the summer there is no way in hell they are getting 25 for Edouard.

Similar levels of player, however with covid and his contract situation it would make no sense to spend that dough on him

They will have their whole squad still intact come the end of January - wouldn't be surprised if Eduard goes for zero and signs a pre contract next season, which would be effin hilarious
It would be in edouards best interests to sit it out for another year and go for free, be able to command far higher wages with no transfer fee involved.

celtic are in a perilous financial position, not that any of their fans are interested in looking at it.

Without major reinvestment it could see us going for Terry Munro. We don't need to get shot of them to the bottom tier to do it.

Wantaway players who hopefully sign pre contracts elsewhere.

£5m Goalkeeper with retractable arms

Gash loan players who will be off soon enough, although I hope they end up buying them.

A captain who was over the hill 5 years ago.

Incapable of securing much needed champions league funds.

Faithfull froo and froo fans who won't renew season books if they don't win the league.

C'mon Rangers, Terry Munro

With the exception of the Huffy French penalty taker and Ajer do they have any reliable assets that will give them a decent return?

Even if they do, they will need to find players to reinvest that money on and thats highly unlikely going by the scouting program they have set up.

They have done very well with player sales over the last 10 years. Dembele, Tierney, Armstrong, Van Dyke, Forster, Wanyama, Ki have all commanded inflated prices. When you are winning domestic trophies at a canter, are selling from a position of strength, are guaranteed CL exposure every season albeit you make a lady's front bottom of it and have a compliant press building up the value of your assets, then of course you get top dollar.

when you are languishing 21 pts behind in the league, your reputation is getting battered every day in the press, have an unsettled squad who want away, things change. It’s a buyers market. The worm has turned.

Celtic right now are like a market stall next door to Harrods. You might buy a bargain if something catches your eye but you’ll go next door for your expensive purchases.

They cant reinvest the money, that's the best part.

From what we are seeing there isn’t a big market this window. Clubs are having to reign in with Covid not going away. If they do sell, they won’t be able to ask for the fees they have before, never mind the lack of form in who trying to sell

Fire damaged sale more like. The players must be thinking past their pay checks now! Looking at the fans rioting outside the ground, attacking their bus and cars, sickening abuse of Biton and his family and now a pished, snussed up crackpot of a manager having a WWE style rant in front of the world at a press conference. Their agents phones must be red hot to get them out. Bargain price sale as these duds are not the value that the Seville calculator says they are. The pressure Rangers have put them under has caused this collapse and nobody can tell me any different? Our great run of form has destroyed the whole club inside and out. Thank you Rangers.

They are going to be selling at the Barras' price range and buying at Paddy's market budget.

There’s no way the above amounts to £25m. We keep hearing about Alfredo’s so called attitude but I would have a player with his attitude every day of the week over a guy that clearly doesn’t care or apply himself in a proper manner.

They broke even last season with a 25 million sale, gate receipts from 8 european games and a lot more prize money from UEFA than they are getting this season. They have also spent not far off 20 million last summer, I honestly think their accounts will be a disaster if they don't start selling.

Clubs aren't going to pay big money for Edouard especially when he's clearly chucked it this season and coming into the last 18 months of his contract. They got under £20m for Dembele who scored goals in the champions league for them which Edouard hasn't done so they will be lucky to get anywhere near £25m for him. I would go as far as saying Dembele is a better player than Edouard as well.
