CELTIC have branded Jon Flanagan’s Old Firm appeal win “a huge embarrassment” for the Scottish game.

The Rangers defender was charged by the SFA compliance office Claire Whyte for decking Scott Brown at Ibrox last weekend

Ref Kevin Clancy booked Flanagan for elbowing the Celtic skipper during the first half of Gers’ Old Firm win.

But three former refs reviewed footage and all agreed the Ibrox defender should have been sent off by the whistler.

Flanagan faced a two-match ban but an independent panel cleared him at Hampden today – leaving the Hoops amazed.

A Celtic spokesperson said: “The whole matter is a huge embarrassment for Scottish football.”

See when they were commenting on the JF appeal did the press decide to ask if they had any comments about beast harbouring, nah didn’t think so!!

It's only us that like putting out statements.
Seems that joke has been done.

For once I agree with them, it is an embarrassment, though I think they might see the source of embarrassment differently.
Perhaps they'll back us up in our calls for transparency and fairness...

...Perhaps not.

It is pretty embarrassing as it is a Red Card BUT so was the Simunovic elbow on DeFoe. So was the Killie Keeper on a Rangers player a while back. They also never served a ban.

Lennon did nothing but talk about Rangers in the build up to the game.

Lennon claimed Brown has been singled out by Rangers players. Nope Brown has looked to provoke Rangers players.

Morelos has been singled out like no other player i can remember by both Referees, Linesmen and opposition players.

Flanagan has been excellent since coming back into the team. Shame he has absolutely no left foot!

Ah! So that's why Flanagan got cleared.

A neat and organised deflection story from other headlines and fuelling vocal and righteous anger from those who would stay silent about real crimes and injustice.

You have to admit. They're good, really good.;)
That’s it exactly, be prepared for them to talk about anything else except you know what to try and keep other headlines away.

You couldn’t mark their necks with a blowtorch.

You’d also think they have more pressing concerns to be addressing .....

The sewer rats released that statement pretty quick, still nothing on yet another convicted pedo though

Filth !

And suddenly Celtic have someone available for comment. Where's he been all week?

I was thinking maybe they were busy preparing a statement regarding the unearthing of the biggest child abuse scandal in sport at their disgusting club...then again.........!!?

Vermin

Maybe they got there statements mixed up
'The matter was dealt with at the time, it should be dead and buried'

'It's a huge embarrassment for Scottish Football.'

Match the above statements to the 'news of the week'

Agh, done it again, reply instead of edit :mad:
