Celtic to be sued in the US over abuse(The Sun)

One thing my journalist friend has said, is that journalists will be very careful not to put too much in the press as it could jeopardise any future convictions...

Let the solicitors do their thing in the background. Once the convictions are settled, the next stage will begin.

They have published their interim report on sexual abuse in Scottish Football. The full version is to follow once legal matters are concluded.
The irony is, typical SFA kowtowing, the report praises and compliments Celtic for introducing a part time Safeguarding Officer post. It goes on to say how impressed they are with Celtic's commitment and leadership in progressing improvements to the safety of young people.
What a laughably sad and desperately poor situation it would be if the full report recommends Scottish clubs to implement Celtic's model for safeguarding well being of children as best practice.

Nothing surprises me about their twitter trolls. And I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised about the media completely ignoring it. It’s absolutely shocking how media control things. Imagine victims family’s being abused in any other walk of life, the media would be outraged. The fact they aren’t over this shows how utterly fake their outrage over anything else is. They’re disgusting and sinister.

I'm guessing that there are 'real' journalists who are all over this story but who cannot say anything while the judicial process is ongoing.

Once you get south of Gretna, Celtic's 'friends' can't help them and, if this blows up in the English media then their 'friends' up here will jump ship.

You can only sell if you have someone to buy.

Football clubs are not good investments for mainstream investors and anyone who would buy for 'love' will probably know about the potential liability.

Further, any competent due diligence would discover the potential liability.

Providing for liabilities can be enough to put a business into administration. Pacific Gas and Electric just filed Chapter 11 due to potential liabilities arising from the California Wildfires.

For this to be totally effective they would need an ex player to be on telling what went on.

It can review what we already know about the court cases and what has been written or commented on in the past by ex players. It could also review the cover up within and lack of commentary in the spoken media and at political level in Scotland. It could make comment about close association with the catholic church who have their own similar issues and touch on the visits by Savile. Would it even dare comment on below

It would need something new and potentially explosive. For me a high profile ex player must, sadly, have some shocking stories about what went on. Was there not talk a year or two ago of an ex first team player about to come out and talk about what went on?

MacLennan will step in and try and use his contacts for the media cover up , he's not there for nothing you know he did it successfully for years covering up shit on HSBC bank the guy is good at it, and he cannae stand us he called us ba$tards that's the ilk that we are up against.

They won't comment on an ongoing case, plus they don't cover sport (especially.from Scotland) unless it financial. But an ex-Editor shutting down a story is more their kind of thing. If it grows legs, they may come back to it after sentencing

I wonder how many parents there are who feel guilty that they failed to protect their children and blame themselves to an extent. There may also be some who accepted a deal to not go to the Police (like the New Jersey case) and who may feel that they also inadvertently prolonged the abuse. I firmly believe that there will be a flood of victims coming forward as soon as the first tranche are successful.

Any updates on this mate? I've been waiting with interest on the outcome of this, like many others no doubt and it appears that it's being delayed/blocked at this time.

I don't doubt for a second your validity of the info, I want to make that perfectly clear and I do understand that it could have been prevented from being aired in public just now for a multitude reasons, however, an update of sorts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
Is McCafferty the St Pats FC kit man not up in court this week?

No doubt Lieswell PR machine trying their best to highlight lack of safety certificates at one SPFL club, lying Pro mentally challenged referees being given airtime about fictional Masonic referee conspiracies, Parkpaed crushing report due out this week, etc

Me thinks the Separate Entity arguement is just about to be blown apart and Lieswell is trying to deflect attention away from the McCafferty trial

I still think the link between McCafferty and Lawrence Haggart needs more thorough investigation given MCafferty called the Haggart family home the very day Haggart was murdered

Defo stinks and the police IMO have failed to get the full facts of this case out as what a coincidence it is a known Paedo at St Pats made a call and then the young CBC player is murdered

I've been told a Texan lawyer has been in touch with victims of the American tour and things are progressing on that front.It sounds like the potential for Fergus McCann to dragged into it.

McCafferty(the kitmans)trial starts tomorrow.

As for the confidentiality letter,people are adamant a newspaper is in possession of one but why nothing's been done with it yet I honestly don't know mate.
