Celtic View article showing club structure to be used as sex abuse compensation case evidence
The official club magazine shows a flow-chart management structure for Parkhead with Celtic Boys’ Club included in the set-up in the 1990s while Celtic FC maintain it is was a "separate organisation”.

Startling new evidence in the Celtic Boys’ Club child sex scandal will be used by lawyers seeking compensation from the club for decades of abuse.
The first claim has been lodged by “AB” at the Court of Session seeking compensation for the abuse suffered at the hands of Boys’ Club founder beast Jim Torbett and for loss of earnings in a potential professional career, with more cases set to follow.
Now an article from the Celtic View has emerged showing a flow-chart management structure for Celtic FC with the Boys’ Club firmly part of the set-up in the 1990s.
It is significant because Celtic have said the club is a “separate organisation” from the Celtic Boys’ Club.

On Tuesday, Thompsons Solicitors branded Celtic’s position “disgraceful” in the light of past – and new – evidence.
Some of the sexual abuse of boys took place at the club’s then Barrowfield training ground.

The Daily Record has already revealed how, in the 1980s, Celtic FC investigated Boys’ Club bosses and cleared them of any wrongdoing. The new evidence is seen as a further blow to Celtic’s “separate organisation” claim.
The article, from February 8, 1995, is headlined “School for Bhoys” and talks of a new centre of excellence to be based at Helenvale Park in Glasgow’s East End.

Jim McCafferty – who admitted his crimes when confronted by the Record and who is now serving more than six years in jail for abusing boys – is pictured in the article.
He was assistant youth development officer.
The flow chart in the article clearly shows the place of Celtic Boys’ Club within the structure, along with associated spin-off boys’ clubs in Northern Ireland, Edinburgh and the north.
The then youth development officer, Willie McStay, is quoted as saying: “Each of the boys’ clubs under the umbrella will be given equal rights as part of the Celtic network.”

The fact that Celtic are deciding the future and structure of the Boys’ Club casts more doubt on the club’s current position.
The flow chart shows: “Primary School Liaison and Coaching” and a box states: “New Boys Club Structure”.
It details “Celtic First Team” at the pinnacle, followed by “Reserve Team”, followed by “Youth Team” and then a box marked: “Proposed Area of Change” with links fanning out to the various strands of the Boys’ Club.

Gordon Woods, 65, who was coached by Torbett but never played a game for the Boys’ Club because he was not good enough, believes he was kept going to training so he could be sexually abused by Torbett.
He said: “Denials by Celtic FC of any boys’ club involvement has been farcical.

“The Celtic FC club structure detailed in the article clearly proves Celtic FC and the Celtic Boys’ Club were one and the same organisation.
“As a victim, I call on Celtic FC to halt the continuing abuse by their denials, to apologise to all that suffered, to accept their moral and legal responsibility.”

Four abusers associated with Celtic and their Boys’ Club have been convicted of offences. Three are in jail.
Patrick McGuire, a partner at Thompsons, said: “This is yet more evidence showing the intimate connections between Celtic and their feeder organisation Celtic Boys’ Club.
“The fact that relationship is laid out with a diagram in the Celtic View only makes the club’s denial of any responsibility for the abuse of children on their watch even more disgraceful.”

In February, Celtic said: “The Club is very sorry that these events took place.
“With regard to the allegations regarding historic abuse at Celtic Boys’ Club although Celtic Football Club is a separate organisation, we take these extremely seriously because of the historic contacts between the two organisations.
“Police investigations were given support, so as to seek to ensure that those individuals who abused young people were brought to justice.”

The club declined to comment last night.

Over a week ago now we brought this article to the forum. It’s now been picked up by the Daily Record. To make it quite clear, we did not contact anyone at the Daily Record.

This is great news and possibly a turning point in all of this.

Well done regarding the work done on this and of course every other aspect of all you have done to help the victims and call out Celtic for their neglect on an industrial scale.

If the DR are succumbing to the pressure being laid on the media and are now beginning to print the evidence against their chosen club then you would need to take from that a very strong feeling the game is just about up.

They and their paymasters must be sick that the cover up is finally coming to an end.

I wonder when or if the SPFL/SFA will realise the same. The legal system due to their place men is of course another worry as we have previously seen.

I hope we see justice for all of these victims sooner rather than later. They have waited long enough.

For a minute just imagine this was Rangers denying they had a youth set up for decades, there would be journalists, pundits and politicians falling over themselves to condemn the club followed by threats of action from the Scottish Government.

This article is probably the best bit of evidence yet, not that there should need to be any because the separate entity claim is so obviously bullshit, but the club magazine showing visually how they where part of the structure should put this nonsense lie to bed for good. They’ll still drag victims through the courts, and the likes of Spiers will still stay silent, possibly ’witheringly’ call it ‘whatabouttery’.

Absolutely evil and vile individuals in charge of their club, almost as bad as the abusers. I’m not fully versed on the legal system in this country, but surely whoever tried to disassociate the club with their youth system should be charged with perverting the course of justice.

As a previous poster put the media should be hanging their heads in shame this is front page reporting or should be , also why are the governing bodies the SFA the SPFL mostly the Scottish Government not putting out statements regarding these horrific crimes against kids makes my blood boil.

Humza would have had Rangers shut down by now.

The Celtic View magazine evidence has been known for years by the media, but they seldom talk about it

Here is the BBC mentioning the Celtic View evidence in 2018

"
Celtic FC has been criticised for its failure to comment on the conviction of paedophile Jim Torbett.

The Celtic Boys Club founder was jailed for six years on Monday after being found guilty of sexually abusing three boys over an eight-year period.

But more than 24 hours after the trial concluded Celtic FC has not responded.

The football club told the BBC last year the Boys Club was a "separate and distinct" organisation.

However decades of Celtic View magazines, and never before seen footage obtained by BBC Scotland, shows how the two clubs were intertwined.

And campaigners argue Celtic FC has a duty of care to the young footballers who wore the famous green and white hoops"

They quite simply think they are above the law, untouchables.

An old article I stumbled across begs the question, why would McStay need cash to pay lawyers?

McStay had planned to reveal all and wanted to use some of the cash raised to
pay lawyers.
He said: “It will be a very honest book about my career and my life.
“Part of this campaign with Kickstarter is to cover legal costs.”

Wonder what McStay wanted to reveal?

let's see the fat Japanese laughing now

The Record and Sun will only do an anti-filth story if they have got it absolutely water-tight and iron-clad because they know Ring FC will get Harper McLeod to litigate them to death over an i not being dotted or a t not being crossed and those in charge of those papers are just not savvy enough to deal with that.

The fact that they are running with this suggests to me they know what's coming now, and they have no doubt the filth are in trouble.

Still a disgrace it's taken this long, but I understand why it has, in a mad way.

Imagine sitting down at your keyboard and thinking about what to write, with allegations of child abuse sitting there in front of you, and asking for it to stay hidden with a wee winky face.

I mean, I can't. It's an inhuman position to take, and I can no more empathise with this weirdo than I can with a rock.
