Celtic's plan to install massive TV screen outside Parkhead stadium rejected by Glasgow City Council

Now that would be funny

“They added that it would form a “dominant and incongruous feature, to the detriment of visual amenity”.
The club will be able to appeal against the decision.”

Doesn’t the shitheap behind where it would go already do that? Why didn’t that get refused planning permission?

I believe it was because 9 out of the 12 councilors on the Planning Committee were all either Ceptic season ticket holders and/or held Ceptic shares. Some were both season ticket holders and share holders, so there was no way it wasn't going to pass.

The area outside the piggery looks like a cheap garden centre, they are incapable of understanding class.

If ever a view summed up a club and it's support, it's the view when you drive past it on London Rd. An utterly tacky, garish fucking eyesore. Looks like the entrance to a dodgy Irish theme park. The big gold star that looks like it's been stolen from a giants nativety scene just tops it off. Its a fucking shambles.

They leave the lights and the screens inside the stadium on regularly.

The whole approach - 'the Celtic Way' - is tacky as hell. Like the estate of a nouveau riche Lottery winner from Coatbridge. There is no sense of taste or class. This latest idea would fit right in. The only thing missing would be a 10-metre LED 'Live, Laugh, Love' sign.

We all know what “the Celtic Way” really means - Torbett, Cairney and Co

One of their Directors, is involved with all these digital billboards, possibly owns the company.
This will eventually be passed, for adverts etc, doubt they would get it for live TV.

The only screens they have are smokescreens trying to cover up their part in crimes in the past.

I honestly cannot for the life of me understand why a football club needs a rotating TV outside the ground, what is the benefit?

Advertising mate. It's little if anything to do with football but raising advertising revenue. It's a modern version of a billboard, nothing else.

Why have a single advert when numerous things could be advertised.

To the detriment of visual amenity, had a good laugh at that :))

You could erect a true to life statue of Torbett fiddling with his victims right outside the main entrance and even that would have to work hard to make the stinking breezeblock house of lost innocence and shame look more of a shithole than it already does

Why would they seriously want something like that ??
More likely it is a set off against something major which will arise in the future and which will be, when subsequently agreed by GCC, be used as an 'EXAMPLE' of how fair and reasonable they are !
Thereafter to show to the mhedia, in passing something ridiculous, that they are ' even handed ' !!
