Re : Race Night and Auction on Friday 13th October 2017 for Soldiers Off the Street Scotland

We are Soldiers Off The Street Scotland, the Scottish branch of Soldiers Off The Street. We are a relatively new charity with a small but dedicated group of people determined to help the forgotten ex service personnel whose lives have been affected by homelessness. We all think they deserve better after going through the traumatic experience of war in foreign countries - what they have been through for the country they love, to be forgotten and homelessness is a national disgrace! We intend to put that right for as many homeless ex-service personnel as we can.

We aim to relieve the charitable need of homeless ex-service personnel, in particular but not exclusively, by providing clothing, food and rehabilitation, including advice on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, alcoholism, drug abuse, housing and employment. However, we cannot do this without the help of people like yourselves. We receive no government funding, we rely entirely on our "army" of volunteers & the generosity of the general public. No-one at Soldiers Off The Street Scotland receives a wage, all the work we do is done on an entirely voluntary basis.

We will be holding a charity Race Night and Auction on 13th October 2017 at the Linwood Welfare Club in Napier Street, Linwood, Paisley to try to raise some much needed funds for our veterans.

We are appealing to business and individuals to contribute to the success of this event which we hope not only raise funds but awareness of the pressing and serious welfare needs of our ex Forces community.

You could help in one or more of the following ways:

We have 8 races which we require corporate sponsorship for. To sponsor a race outright would be £100, the race will be named after the company and 4 free tickets would be available for the event. Alternatively you could co-sponsor a race with another sponsor for £50.

There are also 64 horses, trainers and jockies available at a prices of £10 each.

Tickets are on sale for the event at £7 each including a live entertainment and a meal provided by our very own Soldiers off the Street Royal Navy Chef. Tables of 10 are available for £50 each.

We require auction prizes for the event as well as smaller raffle prizes. Currently we have a signed Glasgow Warriors Shirt courtesy of Gregor Townsend, a football signed by Pele, a painting donated by Miltary Art for Charities and a model specially commissioned and built by one of Scotland’s top modellers, courtesy of Military Museum Scotland.

Please contact me on … 07847536650………………………….. if you can help us in any way.

Thank you on behalf of those who cannot thank you themselves.
