I think there has to be a clear policy set out by Gerrard as to how best to integrate the cream of the crop from the Youth Development set-up into the 1st team squad, otherwise, the whole thing is a waste of time and resources.
Ideally, there should be at least one or two youngsters coming through each year, capable of holding their own in the SPL, but there must be a lear pathway established by the manager and coaching staff to allow this to happen. Thus far, our record in developing young home-grown talent is abysmal.
