That quiz is difficult! Not.

This has reminded me of a game I was at as a youngster. Rangers beat Everton 2-1 in a midweek friendly and a young DJ scored. Not sure the year but I remember we were in the terracing facing the main stand so it was before the Centenary Stand got built.

Any info on that game @Saltcoatsblu ?

By the way that Chelsea programme article about us starts terribly.

Rangers are defined by beating Celtic.
Rangers got a start by bring formed 15 years earlier.
Celtic are the working class club who got formed to help the poor.

Where do I start with that!

I see it as Rangers formed by educated skilled Boys and Celtic by vagabonds and tinkers to feed the likes...

I was at this game, free travel on the underground as the staff closed the doors on the wee booths they stood in.
The singing going to the match was good, if I recall correctly it was freezing.

Met Peter Bonetti at Clapham police station around that time, it was nothing nefarious, he was handing our prizes in a Help The Police competition for schools that my bro had won

I was there.Good night out was had by all.
Living in London at that time had it's rewards. ;)
I lived in the Earls Court area a couple of years earlier. We used to walk to Stanford Bridge For the home games, and travel to other London clubs also.
More or less the same Chelsea team for the Chopper Harris testimonial.
Those were the days mate.;)

I worked in the exhibition industry and had a great time down there.
Took me about 20 minutes to walk there and around 5hrs to get back. :D

Went on shared supporters bus, reidvale RSC,and the Bristol bar, never got out of Duke st,had to stop for toilet. Escorted out of London by police, lots of stories, another time.no surrender. W.a.t.p

The clash of the 1971 v 1972 European Cup Winners Cup winners.

Indeed, MU. That's some pairing for a testimonial!

Brilliant post Saltcoatsblu.

I did a wee clean-up on the front page of the programme - time on my hands!

Also, I don't remember John Greig having his beard such a long time before Barcelona.

This is him getting it shaved off ...
