Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon in Rangers rethink as security concerns force BT Sport change with former Celtic duo off punditry

Sutton says he was told he was unwelcome last year , he should have told BT it wasn't a good idea , but we all know why him , and the other wee bigot didn't say. As usual they try to turn it around , and plead victimisation , but they are the perpetrators , hoping , to be abused . Sutton says no other club behaves the same way ....but he doesn't publicly slander any other club in the same way ...if at all.
As for McCoist when's he going to waken up and realise that he only gets invited for their benefit , because they know he'll just agree with everything they say.....

Couldn’t bring myself to watch McCoist play out the diplomacy routine. Unfortunately it confirms worse fears that he doesn’t care about the fans ,reputation of club, management , or players.
He is naive at best, or just motivated by his appearance fees.
Sutton and Lennon no doubt will be laughing at him, not with him. Sutton is poisonous towards Rangers, BT sport think it makes great copy.
Former players need to keep their feet on the shop floor. Rangers supporters are under attack. You are either with us or against us on these issues now.

It says Record Sport in the article he posted ffs :D

Don’t know what he’s moaning about, imagine the embarrassment of explaining why the ambulance took 40 hours to turn up to take Lennon and Sutton to hospital after the imaginary 10p coin bounced off their coats, causing untold physical damage to their coupons.
What a wee fhanny " it's time every journalist started telling the truth about the culture at Ibrox " couldn't agree more , ya wee twisted wee bigot ....maybe you should start as well.....Note how he doesn't speak of the CSA scandal any more .....almost as if somebody had a word in his ear...
couldn't agree more , ya twisted wee bigot.......
I’m not a fan of banning individuals, I think it’s unnecessary and not a good look for us. That sort of action is noticed beyond the cess pit of daily record readers and SNP hate mob.

Can’t stand Lennon, Sutton I feel is more a panto villain and not in the Lennon bracket for me, but regardless….I don’t think either should be banned. Let them attend and look to Rangers men like Boyd, McCoist and Rae to put them in their place to balance their criticism.

I might be wrong but I don’t recall seeing other big clubs like man United and liverpool banning former players from punditry at their grounds. Souness gives Pogba an OTT time of it regularly but it would be embarrassing for man united to ban him.
Boyd was fine for a while last season , but recently had gone back to his old ways...McCoist has never put anybody in their place , and is happy to agree with anything negative said about us, and is the only reason why he gets so much air time... Rae is just an embarrassment full stop.

Just tell the MSM that we don't care what they have to say, that they are increasingly irrelevant and that fewer and fewer people listen to them or read them. The 'new' media are taking over. H&H has more subscribers than most Scottish teams have supporters. The MSM are dinosaurs on the way out. We know it, they know it and, importantly, Stewart Robertson knows it.

Read what I wrote.

there is no issue with not letting them in at all and fair play to the club for whatever reason.

Simply not allowing them in and then saying not a single word about it has allowed talkSPORT first, then everyone with a typewriter, to apply THEIR logic as to why it happened.

The prevailing wisdom is now that Rangers were concerned that our support could not be trusted. Nothing about the 2 of them being scumbags, nothing about Sutton being banned already, nothing about BT being told ages ago not to send him, just a half baked story about them being a security risk.

We have been amateur in how this is dealt with. A simple 1 paragraph statement yesterday at least allows us to have our side of this told. It takes the fuel away from the ‘Rangers scared of own support’ idiocy we are seeing and it clamps Dornan etc.

As staunch as it is to say ‘who cares what they say’, when you have well over a million English listeners being told that Rangers refused to allow 2 pundits into the ground because they were deemed at risk from the support, you have us nationally looking petty, tinpot, parochial and unable to police our own stadium. 1 paragraph from the club at least gets out the REAL reasons for it happening. Silence is no friend to us in this.
Sorry but I don’t think the club want involved in a public war of words with two haters one who is a protected species and a vile individual with numerous friends in the media and you just know he’d play the religious victim card and another who has a platform and has had for years to bad mouth the club , this would have dragged on and on and they two would have played it out for days / weeks

For once I think the club have been cute in playing the “ security card “ while deep down everyone knows why

I would like to think we will be having the discussion with BT Sport in a private environment

With FARE in attendance at Ibrox for the game they’ve tried to set us up in a week where the Protestant community are under attack due to the Orange Walk, Rangers were to be another branch to be beaten in their anything Blue is bad game this week

For me the club done the correct thing and were cute about it into the bargain

The hateful articles in the media would have been a lot worse had we let them remain and as another poster said they were then marched pitch side in front of the fans pre kick off , it was a set up we didn’t fall for

The tall and short of it is this, (IMO)

We are 1 game away of FB shouts leading us to a stadium closure. These 2 wanks, regardless of religion would encourage/elicit shouts that would %^*& us, let's be honest, the euro night neds would make sure of it. Clever move from the club.

Until h*n is viewed as sectarian, or indeed, as 'racist' as f***an, then it is not a level playing field.

As far as I am concerned, h*n = f**ian/t***ier/t***. They have 3 illegal terms, we have none, we are simply fair game.

Where the %^*& do we go from here. We need a strong push to illegalise this horrible term h*n, I know I am offended by it.

Without it, what do they call us? Serious question. What would they use without h*n?
One of the best posts I’ve read on this whole saga. If ‘Hun’ gets widely and more formally recognised as a sectarian term as a result of this fight back (the H&H Twitter expose) then I’ll view it as a success.

I don’t want to see anyone lose their jobs, and it’s a dangerous path that has been taken by people in glass houses. But if people realise that there is a problem which is not one sided, then there might be a realistic and grown up approach instead of finger pointing.

And on the BT issue, I see the move by the Club as risk mitigation. In this climate, with all that’s gone on, with FARE in attendance and Press attack dogs salivating, all it takes is a few pissed up young lads to start up a song that could see the reputation of the Club and the huge majority of fans, wrongly and unfairly dragged through the mud.

It was a clear set up with FARE inside the stadium. They will have something set up for 2moro as its flag day. They need to try and demonise us at every opportunity and especially on big days like 2moro.

No amount of appeasement with the media will ever stop it. People actually thought it would end when we won the title. Anyone with a brain could see it was only going to increase the attacks.

After years of snide and spiteful comments (and very little objectivity) concerning Rangers from the two morons it was a about time they were declared unwelcome and I hope it remains that way. Take the point though that with Fare in attendance against Lyon and just looking for something to hit us with, the presence of Sut and TLB would undoubtedly have provoked some fans in attendance to provide material for Fare. Good decision by Rangers.

If Stewart Robertson has indeed told Bt the club cannot ensure their safety and it’s a security risk then that is quite simply appalling and besmirches the Rangers fans

We are running around with a scatter gun approach at the moment and making ourselves quite the laughing stock in all honesty

Not sure what the strategy is here at all, our PR dept is a complete and utter mess at the moment, something needs to change in how we are portraying the club right now...
We are a laughing stock to whom? The Record, the BBC ?
We are their go to target anyway so, They can say what they like because most, obviously not all,Rangers fans don’t care what they say.

If we are all stopping buying/reading/clicking on the daily record, we all need to block Sutton on social media, and stop making threads about him on here.

Like it or not, it’s the Rangers support that have kept him in the media limelight as we constantly bite to his nonsense. He knows what he’s doing, and the by playing the pantomime villain it’s allow him to scrape his life back together after bankruptcy.

We all need to just ignore him, render him irrelevant.

BT Sport consider covering Rangers home Europa League game from PARKHEAD as Celtic pundits row takes new twist - Daily Record

BT Sport could broadcast Rangers’ home Europa League clash against Sparta Prague in November from an EMPTY Parkhead.

Record Sport Online can exclusively reveal that is just one of the moves being considered by the broadcasting giants in response to the Ibrox club’s safety fears for their chosen Celtic pundits.

Hoops heroes Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon were denied entry to the home of their former rivals due to security reasons in midweek.

BT Sport wanted the duo to cover Celtic’searly match away to Real Betis from a studio at the Govan ground before being replaced by Ally McCoist and David Weir for Gers home game against Lyon.

This is a regular occurrence from the broadcaster who reverse the roles when Gers are away in the early kick off as they make Parkhead their base.

That will be the case the next time the Glasgow giants play on the same night in the Europa League on November 4.

McCoist and former Light Blues team-mate and ex-Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes will cover Steven Gerrard’s team in action away to Brondby at 5.45pm.

And Sutton and Lennon will then step in for Celtic’s 8pm kick off at home to Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

The next time the Hoops are in action in the early game is on Matchday Five and it will see a potential repeat of the issues that occurred in midweek.

Celtic are away to Bayer Leverkusen with the Light Blues hosting Sparta Prague in the penultimate group fixtures.

BT Sport - who paid £1.2 BILLION for the rights to the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League until 2024 - are considering how to deal with the situation as they look to avoid another row.

They were forced to rip up their plans at the eleventh hour and cover the game from a London studio with Stiliyan Petrov stepping in.

And one option is simply to cover both games from Parkhead despite Celtic being away from home and Rangers in action at Ibrox.

A well-placed BT Sport source told Record Sport Online : “If this scenario comes up again then the safety of our staff is paramount.

“However, the cost to us doubles if we have to set up two studios so it’s more economical to have just one base.

(Image: SNS Group)
“Therefore, one option being considered is simply to set the studio up at Parkhead. It seems ludicrous considering we won’t have the fans arriving for the game as they will be at Ibrox.

“Something would be lost and Ibrox Stadium will miss out on the exposure of a full house on a European night which makes great viewing as it showcases a magnificent arena to the world.

“But we could be left with no option. At a time when (Rangers managing director) Stewart Robertson has said they are looking for more money to be invested in the Scottish game it doesn’t make much sense to be upsetting a major UEFA stakeholder.”

If and I stress IF that were to happe then whoever turns up as the Rangers pundits should be told that they also wont be welcome back at Ibrox. Why would BT just do it from a studio?

Rangers have told BT Sport pundits Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon they won’t be allowed access to Ibrox on Thursday evening to cover the Old Firm’s Europa League clashes.

Record Sport understands Gers chiefs have informed BT of the decision this afternoon to refuse entry due to security concerns.

The former Celtic manager and striker have now been taken off punditry duty having been expected to make Ibrox the base for media duties for the Hoops' clash against Real Betis in Spain and then Rangers ' encounter against Lyon in Glasgow.

But the broadcasters were told it would not be possible to accommodate the duo and it is understood BT Sport have been forced to make alternate plans and host both games from their studios in London with a new punditry team.

Both matches are live on BT Sport 3, with Real Betis vs Celtic first up with a 17.45 kick-off.

That's followed immediately by Rangers hosting Lyon, which kicks off at 8pm, and the programmes will run together.

However, the whole thing will not be broadcast from Ibrox as planned following the decision made on Sutton and Lennon.
Well knowing rangers haters not a good word to say about. Our club so good bye. And thank you rangers for taken a stand giving them c@@ts a platform to hate and. Then pass it off as just commenting scum f@@k pair off them and rest of haters don’t like we took a stand and now trying to turn it as we. Out order people glasshouse. Anol

Sending those two to Ibrox sounds like a clear attempt to get fans into trouble.

There would be a very high chance fans would chant and shout some very naughty things towards those two in full view of cameras, maybe that is what people at Sky wanted.
Was on bt mate

For those that missed it or can’t remember.

The fact this was allowed in the first place tells you all you need to know about Clyde.

Outrageous

That rat accusing anyone of being a “cheerleader”

What’s more outrageous is that rat Keevins and bug eyes McCulloch sitting there letting the ambush happen
McCoist should be ashamed

So let's have this right. We ban two insufferable cnuts who detest the club we all love with every fibre of their being yet we're the bad guys?

What did Max Rushden have to say when it became evident Celtic Football Club were attempting to cynically manoeuvre themselves away from liability for historic sexual abuse?

Surely we should boycott coverage of that club?

No?

I see Ian Maxwell is giving us his opinion on how it doesn’t look good for the game.

As if anyone is interested in his thoughts.

The press can’t get stories from us, so if something happens we have to endures days of nonsense as they rehash the same old drivel.

End of the League Cup final against them in 2019 Sutton was screaming "TEN IN A ROW!" and "THE GOOD GUYS HAVE WON" during the BT Sport commentary.

Sutton has piped up

I’m not allowed to work on the Celtic game tonight from a studio at Ibrox along with Neil Lennon as Stewart Robertson the Rangers CEO says we are a security risk. Good to see Rangers ground breaking diversity and inclusion campaign ‘Everyone Anyone’ is working well…

Well I think a known Rangers hater and an ex Celtc player who spat on a Rangers scarf are a security risk. Rangers fans would react, as they should:

I would ask Sutton how he would feel if a Rangers fan spat on a photo of his child? Would he find it offensive? Extremely.

What's that Chris? "It's not the same"?

But it is, as Rangers are family for 10's of thousands of fans, so it is exactly the same.

Lennon has constantly offended and repulsed Rangers fans and it should never set foot in Ibrox again, there is not one single reason why he should be in our stadium, being a Rangers hating repulsive scumbag.

As for Sutton, he has never had a good word to say about our fans, club or team. So again there is no reason for him to be in our stadium.

I don't know who the Max chap is but if you're looking in, I've managed to get all my Rangers news quite fine for years and years without you informing me of anything... hahahaaaha. :shh:
They have an over inflated idea of the financial benefit and good will they bring to Rangers.
