Do you have this program? If so, what was the Rangers line up? Reason for asking is my dad played in one of these games.

Gers v Thirds?
The great Davie Wilson.
@HIHI Rangers beat Third Lanark 3-0 in the Glasgow Cup Final in 1954. The crowd was listed as 35,000. In that pic it looks as though there were most likely far more than that at the game. Willie Woodburn was suspended since due in September of that year.

Since Willie Woodburn's jersey has a badge I'd guess this an international match, probably against Wales or Northern Ireland?Gers v Thirds?
Glasgow Cup Final in the fifties?
My avatar - classic picture.
I think it’s Eric Caldow and Johnny Little (1st and 3rd from left respectively). No idea who the other two players are.
I suspect the Gordon and Galt in the Army team were highly successful Rangers players.I dont have the program . Here is some info though it has 1954 instead of 1955 listed ...

Brilliant detailed info as ever @dh1963.I suspect the Gordon and Galt in the Army team were highly successful Rangers players.
Jimmy Gordon served in the army during WW1, and was a true Rangers great. He was one of an elite few Ibrox men to win the league title both before and after WW1, was captain for club and country, and was once described by Bill Struth as "the greatest Ranger who ever lived".
Jimmy Galt came from the same part of Ayrshire, and was a key player in the Rangers team who won 3 league titles before WW1. He then moved to Everton where he captained them to the league title before joining the forces.
Both men were lifelong friends, and went into business together after their playing careers.
Good spot!Since Willie Woodburn's jersey has a badge I'd guess this an international match, probably against Wales or Northern Ireland?
The Genius and the gargoyle.

I was thinking more Scotland v Wales at Hampden in the Home Internationals. Possibly even NI or a foreign outfit.Gers v Thirds?
Glasgow Cup Final in the fifties?
Rangers won 5-1 with Tommy McLean bagging a hat trick. The great Davie Wilson.
What a day that was.
July 10th 1989.What a day that was.
That would have finished that mob off.July 10th 1989.
Always thought they should have waited a couple more days.

No they shouldn't have. That was Mr Souness's 30th birthday present to me. !!!!July 10th 1989.

Calimero was on fire at that time. His display in the 3-0 win v Celtic the week before was superb.Rangers won 5-1 with Tommy McLean bagging a hat trick.
McLean and DJ were one of the most potent duo’s in the clubs history.Calimero was on fire at that time. His display in the 3-0 win v Celtic the week before was superb.
DH, i think the army outside-left in that 1917 game was Fred Croot of Leeds City who also played for Rangers as a wartime guest player.I suspect the Gordon and Galt in the Army team were highly successful Rangers players.

According to Rangers in the black & white era you are correct, Scotland v Wales at Hampden. Woodburn played against Wales at Hampden 3 times, 1947 Scotland 1 Wales 2, 1949 Scotland 2 Wales 0 and 1951 Scotland 0 Wales 1.I was thinking more Scotland v Wales at Hampden in the Home Internationals. Hampden is jam packed from what you can see of it.
There's another famous Scotland game from 'the period' against America (I think) and Scotland played in the Lord Roseberry colours.According to Rangers in the black & white era you are correct, Scotland v Wales at Hampden. Woodburn played against Wales at Hampden 3 times, 1947 Scotland 1 Wales 2, 1949 Scotland 2 Wales 0 and 1951 Scotland 0 Wales 1.
That's a new name for me!DH, i think the army outside-left in that 1917 game was Fred Croot of Leeds City who also played for Rangers as a wartime guest player.
Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end. What a time to have been a Bluenose.
Totally agree with that ,quality all over the place in that squad
