Was that against Dundee U or maybe St Mirren
We were in front all that season only to drop silly points in the last few weeks but crowds did swing from 80 thousand plus to under 20.The big difference was very few season tickets in the sixties and seventies.
Think the guy between Johansen and Greig is Tom Donnelly father of Simon Donnelly.
Billy Stevenson in the middle? Can't see any other players?
Everything about this picture is glorious.
For some reason, the socks look better than ever in this pic.
Look at the amount of guys wearing a shirt and tie….I think that we should have at least one game a season when wearing a shirt and tie should be the order of attire…
Interesting fact. Thanks for sharing thatThink the guy between Johansen and Greig is Tom Donnelly father of Simon Donnelly.
I think that's the old war- horse Jimmy Millar himself in center of photo in Dundee Utd strip, looks like Andy Penman beside him. Johansen penalty in a 1-0 League Cup win over Utd on August 19th 1967.Was that against Dundee U or maybe St Mirren

Your spoiling us here tonight Sir, some wonderful pics this is one of my favourites, glorious player in the classic Rangers strip before we let the kit manufacturers run amoke.
The way it should be.
If it is Ferguson presumably heading in, it can only be 67/68. Wee bud to the left (not the greatest snap) and possibly Persson in the middle?
It doesn't look like it was the largest attendance at Ibrox that season.
Joe Baker playing for Arsenal?
I did not realise just how tall Andy Cunningham was although I did see him “kick off” before the Ajax game in 1973.
Enough legendary players (and manager) there to not look at the others.
would this perhaps be the scottish cup quarter final in 1971 when Colin Jackson scored the only goal
I agree that’s the game (I’m in there somewhere!).would this perhaps be the scottish cup quarter final in 1971 when Colin Jackson scored the only goal

Be interesting to look up King Kai’s record from the spot. Only one I can remember him missing was the piggery league cup section game 67-68 where he hit the underside of the bar with Simpson beaten.
Yes it was against Dundee United in August 1967. Rangers won 3-1Was that against Dundee U or maybe St Mirren
I would have been at that game looks like a good crowd because Dundee Utd were not a good team then, the Celtic end looks mobbedYes it was against Dundee United in August 1967. Rangers won 3-1
In the League Sectional games against Celtic it was 1-1 at Ibrox and Andy Penman missed a penalty. In the away game we were winning 1-0 then Kai hit the underside of the bar on the 74th minute with a penalty and Celtic scored 3 goals in the last 15 minutesBe interesting to look up King Kai’s record from the spot. Kai did follow up and he headed the ball forward as Andy Penman was ready to score and the referee had to give a free kick to Celtic. That was from the Glasgow HeraldDid Kai not follow up and scored but was disallowed?
A free kick was awarded against him because no opposing player had touched the ball before he made contact with the rebound.Did Kai not follow up and scored but was disallowed?
