I remember it was pissing down that night but we didnt give two fucks.
Stunning skill from Davie Cooper. For those who were not fortunate enough to see Ian Durrant play for us, this goal shows how good a player he was. Always good to see Aitken being skinned (metaphorically speaking) too.
PSV? although I can’t remember them being in the lead (as shown by the scoreboardat IbroxDavie Robertson in a match at Ibrox. Can anyone name the opponents? Looks like a European game to me:
Looks like Stuart Daniels second from the front. It's another happy away day for The Bears:

Rangers 3-2 Hibernian - Scottish Cup Final 2nd replay, 28th May 1979. Gers finally get their hands on the cup after one of the worst series of matches to decide the old trophy. To be fair this game was better than the first two, though that wouldn't have been difficult!:
the clip of fiorentina at Ibrox and have a guard of honour for them epitomises everything about the Rangers mind set a class apartYes, we played in the blue and white stripes. There are only a couple of brief clips of that first Cup-Winners Cup final on YouTube I think:
The opponents in that match are Killie.Davie Robertson in a match at Ibrox. Can anyone name the opponents? Looks like a European game to me:
DJ having played as a striker on the Saturday and scored the title winning goal after 22 secs, played at CH that night and put in a MOTM performance. Of course the following Saturday he notched two in the SCF against Hearts.
Quite a week for DJ.
My memory is he played in midfield that night and bossed the game.
DJ was the greatest all round versatile footballer I have ever seen. Genuinely international class as a centre forward, a centre half and a midfielder.
They used to say he was a good keeper as well and played there in training games and that he would be the stand-in keeper if McCloy or Kennedy were taken off injured (no sub keepers on the bench for league or cup matches then of course). You have to wonder at how many goals DJ would have scored in his career if he hadn't played so many games in defence or midfield.
Or if he took penalties. Did he ever take one?
Stuart Daniels? It's another happy away day for The Bears:
Stuart Daniels?
The goal I'd most like to have scored.Rangers 3-2 Celtic - Scottish Cup Final, 4th May 2002. Peter Lovenkrands has just scored with virtually the last touch of the ball and the cup is Ibrox bound:
Rangers 1-0 Celtic - 31st August 1986. Ian Durrant scores the winner at Ibrox:
St. Mirren’s semi final at Ibrox was just as enjoyable,as the final. Here's a nice wee sequence of photos showing the aftermath of the 1962 Scottish Cup win against St Mirren.
Another shot from the Rangers v Fiorentina Cup-Winners Cup Final first leg, 17th May 1961. The beautiful castellated Ibrox press-box is a stand-out feature of this image:
