Club 1872 Re Dave King

Totally agree, will be forever grateful for what he did, for his determination to see it through and deliver our club back to people who care about how it is run and managed. Thank you.

Doesn't bear thinking about what we would have become with those cretins that were in charge before Mr King showed them the door.
Huge thanks to Mr King.

Well done Dave King. You came when duty called. This is great alliance to have with Club 72 as it is important for the future well being of Rangers.

King came in and did the pretty unglamorous side of things and I think like McCann at the yahoos you might not see the real benefit of that till several years down the line.

He's laid the foundations for a new chairman to come in and hopefully new investment at a later point in the year.

I'm actually excited to see who will be made new Chairman now.

Does anyone know or remember what came of the commemorative book that was talked about when he announced he was going?

Cant remember the thread or whkbstarted it, but it was a cracking idea and I'd be disappointed if it fizzled out.

On my humble opinion, the man is a legend and what he has done for the club should never ever be forgotten. Some may have an issue with his ways and comments he has made over the last few years but i will be forever grateful.

He is still major shareholder, hope he is involved at Rangers for many more years.
Every day was like a nightmare back then.
A Rangers hero.

Club 1872 Statement on Dave King's departure
Dear Member,

Following the announcement last Friday of Dave King’s departure as Chairman of Rangers Football Club, Club 1872 would like to take this opportunity to address everything he has done for our football club and for Club 1872.

Rangers supporters and everyone connected to the club owe a huge debt of gratitude to him for stepping up, along with other current investors, at a time when our football club was in great danger from a group of people intent on running it into the ground. Had it not been for his decisive action the outlook for Rangers would have been very bleak.

Over the five years of his chairmanship the club has dramatically improved both on and off the pitch. He has overseen a complete overhaul of the football department, with a structure now in place to take us forward for years to come. He has also ensured that Ibrox Stadium is being gradually returned to its former glory after years of wilful neglect. We now have a manager capable of returning us to the top of the Scottish game and a squad of players who have done the club proud in European competition and continue to push for our 55th domestic title. The club has regained its respect and its soul and is now recognisable once again as the Rangers we are all proud to call ours.

Aside from his efforts on behalf of Rangers, the outgoing chairman has been our point of contact with the Rangers board and a source of continual encouragement for Club 1872, with his public commitment to ensuring a significant supporter shareholding in the club always at the forefront of our discussions. In his absence we will continue to engage constructively with the Rangers board and look forward to doing so with the same vital principle in mind. We wish the Interim Chairman, Douglas Park and Interim Vice Chairman, John Bennett well in their new roles.

Whilst others outside of the Rangers family might see fit to debate Dave King’s tenure as chairman it is absolutely clear to those who matter most that he saved our football club and will forever be remembered for doing so. We wish him well in his ‘retirement’ and will continue to work closely with him as the largest individual shareholder in Rangers International Football Club Plc. Thank you, Dave King.
Dave King is our Messiah.

Should be honoured by the club in some form... Hall of fame potentially or something similar, something that makes him a permanent feature of the club.

Why hasn't there been an official statement from Rangers yet other than the one liner when Park was announced interim chairman? King and the 3B's saved this club from perpetual mediocrity under Ashley and Co and his willingness to take the fight to Sports Direct should never be forgotten. I am hoping that the absence of a formal announcement is more down to the pandemic and once over, Dave King will rightly get the plaudits that his actions deserve.

What kind of a mess would we have been In without Dave King , What he’s done should never be understated.

Hopefully now we get some more fresh investment and push on but Dave and the rest of the guys are now possibly the most important people in our team’s history as without them we many not exist .

We must never forget the part Dave King played in our survival, simply if it wasn't for this man (and the other Bears who came to the forefront when needed) we wouldn't be here today.Don't ever forget that guys WE WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY!! Long live the King!!

Should get a painting of him commissioned to hang inside Ibrox so his tenure is never forgotten.

There is nobody shrewder in business than Mr King, he waited and kept his powder dry then struck and saved our club at exactly the right time...

For that, we shall never forget... God Bless Mr King

Another good job by Club1872 for being the voice of the vast majority of our support and by being a counter against the mhedia trash regarding what Dave King did for us.
Unashamedly I'll ask any Rangers supporter who hasn't done so already, join and contribute even a miniscule amount to support Club1872...you know it makes sense!

Dave King is the main reason we’re still on this board discussing our club. A true Rangers man
