Colombia v Venezuela later tonight, Alfredo watch

Colombia were terrific at the 2014 WC. Been on the decline since then it seems.

James Rodriguez had a tremendous tournament for them that year though and a lot of their success was down to him.

Similar to the way Wales are, in their heavy reliance on Bale to make things tick for them.

I know it’s his country and everything but it’s been a waste of time for the wee fella so far, covid ruining it then not in squad tonight
actually training might be better for Alfie than time at the beach sometimes alfie looks lean other times not so much ......

Tuned in to see if Alfie got a game. A lot of huffing and puffing by the Colombians, but surely Alfie would’ve stuck at least one of those chances away?

He should definitely be ahead of RSB and Borja in the pecking order, perhaps he’s still not fully fit after COVID.

Either way, disappointing.

Of course it does but your post suggested that the players value would decrease as they hadn’t had a great tournament, when it’s neither been great of bad as not many have played.
You also seem to be posted doom and gloom post about players desperate to leave, glass half empty type of guy?
It has been crap in that respect with only one out of six playing so far. I don’t know how anyone can say otherwise. Its not doom and gloom it’s simply a fact that three players we thought would feature have not - and if you play well in these tournaments you increase your stock. So if the club were looking for big fees for the likes of Borna and Alfie on the back of good performances then it has been poor so far. Patterson was always unlikely to feature but that might change tonight.

If nothing else, being with the national team has probably helped Alfie retain his fitness for the start of the season. He is often a 'slow starter' in that respect...
