Copa Libertadores 2022 + All Things SA Football

With 6 from 10 teams automatically qualifying, they need to do something to make it interesting.

This, though, cuts the number of games significantly. Ideal for players, not for tv.

EDIT: Just read a 7th team goes to an intercontinental play-off.

No doubt they'll find a way to fit in more games.

The Sudamericana final was to be played in Brazil on October 1st but due to elections that weekend, the Estadio Mario Kempes in Córdoba will play host.

Bet that was bit tense, Boca going out on Pens. Expect River v Velez be lively tonight as well.

So Boca & River Plate out which leaves the way clear for Palmeiras & Flamengo. Flamengo´s domestic form is quite indifferent but they seem to raise their game for the Libertadores Cup.

Please have a look at Palmeiras´s fifth goal by Rony, a brilliant overhead kick goal which you only tend to see in every 4-5 years.

Five from Brazil and three from Argentina in the quarters but a place for an Argentinian side is guaranteed in the semis as Talleres play Velez Sarsafield. It might be two from each country if Estudiantes La Plata beat At. Paraenense as expected.

You know much about the boy Luciano Arriagada at Colo Colo @drgriffen ?

Not really. He looks to have some good aspects to his game: mobility, running with the ball, decent vision etc....but this was based on highlights.

Didn't see the game but he played against Uruguay in last year's Copa so they must have seen something in him, to bring him into the squad.

@chilebear may be able to provide more info.
