Under Gerrard we’ve always played counter attack in Europe. However, it’s getting to the point that we’re seeing elements of this counter pressure, defensive organisation style in the league too.
We don’t try to dominate possession of the ball or play on the front foot enough and it’s costing us valuable points.
Tonight we effectively invited a very poor side into the game for 45 minutes. Why?
The team looks to be overthinking it tactically. It’s costing us the midfield battle in so many games.
