Craig Gordon leg break recovery

Fair play to the lady's front bottom for even considering being in the gym after that break.

Id still be in my bed popping Morphine like it was going out of stock.

Still a prick though, but fair play to him.

4 weeks on and he's doing that.

Either he is sub human or it wasn't that bad.

I fully expected 6 months before seeing a recovery video.

Pins and plates mean a broken bones are able to bare weight far quicker than you'd expect.
Will still take a long time to heal properly then he can get the plates out and let that heal before he can step up his recovery.
Won't be playing til well into next season IMO.

We should put an offer in for the Hearts medical team before the window 'slams' shut
Perhaps it's who / where we send our injured players to that needs addressed. It's not like we have a team of surgeons and specialists on the staff. Anything remotely serious will be outsourced. In-house will only be dealing with relatively minor knocks and ensuring players are following the recovery plan set by our external 'experts'. We're either very unlucky, or we perhaps need to look at alternatives - though I'm sure plenty clubs will use the same people / facilities we do.

How long did McCoist take to come back from a bad injury? I seem to remember 2 weeks or so, it wasn't his leg break but everyone thought he'd be out for months. Came back V Steau Bucharest IIRC.

Those leg press machines give me the fear after all the shock videos I've seen of people turning their knees inside out with them.

I had a family member in a coma for two weeks after suffering pneumonia. The muscle atrophy in his legs after it was unbelievable. He nearly died. Took him a long time to get back up on his feet again.

Fair play to Gordon. I’m not a fan, but I understand the difficulty in getting to where he is now.

Our injuries have been horrendous since the the doctor Gerrard brought with him left the club.

A clean break is a better injury to get than ligament damage.
The difference in recovery of Henrik Larsson and Michael Mols is evidence of this.

Larsson had just as bad of a leg break as Craig Gordon but came back and played as if it never happened. Michael Mols was one of the best forwards I'd ever seen but came back a shell of that player and never really recovered.

My brother broke a bone in his back, he's recovered now but his legs turned to sticks after only a few weeks in a hospital bed.

You see it with wheelchair users too. Incredible how much muscle wastes away when not used and how fast it happens.

Heard Rory Loy on the radio mentioning he'd had almost an identical break and that Gordon would be back on a recovery program and rebuilding muscle quicker than most people would expect. Iwas something along those lines anyway.

Was he offered a deal by us
Don't care if he was or not but I will pass on wishing him a speedy recovery etc due to the club he played for.A club that despises us and covers up child sex abuse.i thought this was a Rangers forum sorry if I've offended the new age Rangers fan .

He was renowned for quick recoveries from what I remember.

You have to also understand that every injury is different along with the persons recovery.

There were folk calling MM for all sorts because he couldn't recover as well as the Diving Swede. Usually the men in question were overweight and old so their knowledge of injuries was far superior than sports science or Physios.

Always wondered what happened when a sparrow broke its leg.

Here is my answer.

Looks like Lowry painted the fcuking things!

How skinny are his legs
I broke my leg once, when it comes out the cast there is huge amount of muscle waste
It’s not been used for a few weeks, the leg muscles just disappear but they do come back very quickly as you obviously use them all the time

I had pins put in my leg after a break so there was no need for a cast, I was told in the hospital I'd need to be up on my feet and start to weight bear slightly on the bad leg (with the aid of crutches obviously) before they could discharge me. I was a pretty bizarre feeling

The training with the physio to build the leg back started not long after but it was very slow process. Gordon will be out for a few months yet
