All the current Celtic board had to do was apologise, speak with lawyers of the victims and arrange some compensation fund. It would have been cheaper and looked far better for them.

PR wise it would have been excellent for the people on the board as nobody would have blamed them for past indiscretions, may even have looked good on current day Celtic as they would be fronting up to their past.

But no just like all those before them they try and sweep under the carpet, despite the ever growing evidence they continue to make the victims and their families wait, continue to make them relive what happened under their command and not allow them to try and move on.

The stance the current board has took has damaged them with PR and it should cost them a lot more financially than if the spoke to lawyers of victims. If this was the current Rangers regime acting like this I would be finished with football.
 
Tbh that doesn’t just call into question CFC.

CFC received complaints; CFC investigated said complaints; CFC reported their findings in a public forum!!

Firstly that also contradicts them sweeping it under the carpet - they addressed the allegations in public. It does, however, raise the question as to why the allegations weren’t passed to police (by anyone involved) - but it also raises a question as to why that article in itself didn’t trigger a police investigation.

Even if the current board don't think they need to apologise for the actions (or should I say inactions) of a previous board, they need to sincerely apologise for this 'separate entity' line they are taking. It is causing deep hurt, anger and resentment to victims and their families.
 
It was always about “protecting the good name of the club” with that lot. No matter their crime, no matter their guilt, no matter the cost to the lives of young boys under their care.

From their greatest ever manager to previous and current boards, ex players and managers, all knew the sordid goings on at that club and all kept schtum.

They should be closed down.

It’s absolutely shocking. Looks like nothing has changed to this day with their claims of seperate entities.
It now looks like they are in serious, serious trouble but why has it taken 30 years to come to light? People in the press/media, football authorities, police force and child protection agencies should hang their heads in shame.
 
I'm thinking now Celtic's lawyers never gave them the 'Separate Entity" big lie, It' so easy to debunk. More like Liewells and the Celtic board were told to confess and admit the clubs guilt. But in trying to preserve that other big lie "the good name of their club" they have shot themselves in the temple with their misfounded Separate Entity line.

Why have they not investigated the Directors of CFC since 1986?

There have been previous newspaper interviews with the CBC Directors who said in print that the CFC Directors sorted the Cairney abuse in New Jersey and met the victims parents to resolve the issue

Why have the police not arrested said CFC Directors for not informing them of the sex abuse crimes?

Cairney was convicted for the very said crime

The SFA should be pressed to punish CFC

The SFA couldn’t wait to punish Rangers for the EBT and financial issues we had. The bastards actually fined us when the club were in administration due to finance issues as well as the other punishments they dished out

6 convicted paedos all associated with CBC and CFC - CFC Directors in 1980’s not reporting abuse to police and actually saying they investigated claims and no guilty parties when in fact they were still abusing kids

SFA need to punish CFC for failure to protect kids

Given Lieswells stance I would ask the SFA to conduct a new Fit and Proper test for CFC as their behaviour and unwillingness to accept their ex staff abused kids
 
This has finished them in terms of deniability.

They should have got out in front of this a long time ago, apologised in public and set up a fund for their victims.

Instead they continued to lie, spin, deflect and hope it would go away.

They've compounded the original crimes by shamefully trying to wriggle out of it.

This cannot be ignored any more by politicians and it's time to demand a proper public enquiry.

Daly started the ball rolling with all of this and uncovered alot of stuff buried within Celtic View’s that blows the seperate entity wide open. He has been intstrumental in leading a campaign against them. He also recently tracked Dermot Desmond down regarding tax evasion, so I’m unsure what your point is.

His “number” he did on us, particularly the Craig Whyte documentary, was spot on and uncovered alot of shady ongoings that most likely allowed us to regain control of our club again.
 
Ok, so if it's been an internal investigation carried out by the in then it will have been done by HR, and there will be sufficient records held surely.

That would tell us how seriously it was investigated

Unless these have been lost...

Daly’s investigation into Craig whyte opened many people eyes including me who were in denial that the man was a crook.
 
The fact is that these horrible acts have been proven to have happened and whilst some of the perpetrators are now in jail there are no doubt that some still remain at large. It’s also true that all these crimes were predicated and facilitated by the association with the name of CFC.

Hopefully more go to jail and justice is eventually done, but surely it’s now that the conduct of Celtic and their board has to be scrutinised.

Why was torbett reemployed? Why as this article shows was the allegations were swept under the carpet. What did CFC do about it? What did the sfa do about such allegations?

It’s the conduct of the club now that has to be up for investigation, they failed their duty of care and in fact what they have done is to foster an environment that facilitated a sex ring to thrive.

For this alone, for the failure of the CFC board to act and crucially for then NOW try to distance themselves from it, CFC must be thoroughly investigated.

They’ve harboured paedopholes, they created an environment for their evil to grow all under the Celtic banner and it seems when the bastards knew about it tried to hush it all up and pretend it’s didnt exist!

Football authorities have to act, this cannot go unpunished and the victims must be given all the support they can get.

Have Seperate entity gained a sporting advantage by carrying out an internal investigation? Rather than reporting through the police? You have to wonder if back at the time sponsors, shareholders or even paying customers would have wanted to invest morraly with such knowledge of the inner goings on at the Torbet towers.
 
The threatening tone of that is absolutely vile and sickening. Sounds to all intents and purposes like paedos covering for paedos by threatening their victims. The separate entity nonsense is dead in the water, they are only making it worse persisting with such excuses. A clear line can be drawn from this threatening behaviour towards victims in the 80s to the dismissive behaviour of the current board that wishes to hide behind excuses rather than facing up to what was clearly institionalised evil inflicted on generations of young footballers, aided and abetted from the very top.
 
The Celtic response shows they have tied themselves up in circles about the truth. Those in charge at the time chose to protect the name of Celtic and to fill their pockets by attaching themselves to Torbetts Companies rather than do the right thing by their Youth Players. Utterly disgusting and a lot of Celtic Fans agree and are disgusted by their current stance.

I’m sure the lawyers for the victims will be all over this.

Sick of telling butt hurt unwashed that it’s not directly about the child abuse that went on at their rancid club but the cover up that followed.

Every club could have a bad apple get in the door. However, the longer this goes on, the more they get found out. Their club is the exemption to the bad apple theory. It was an actual ring of abuse in the higher echelons of power.

They should be brought to their knees and put out their existence. Unfortunately I feel they have their sleekit claws into every aspect of our society and it will be ignored.
