Daily record look to David "sevco" Low for expert opinion on our finances

celtic have been skint since 2017, it's only because we have failed to succeed so far is why it's been concealed...that's your stake of cards! shhhhhhhhhhhh

So what about the club who relies on big transfer fees every season to balance the books?

Take that and champions League football away and you'll have a problem.

If someone can post the whole article from the record.

"
David Low, who was Fergus McCann’s financial advisor when he saved Celtic from bankruptcy in 1994 and who currently co-owns the Glasgow Rocks basketball team, believes the figures make grim reading, particularly for Rangers.

“It’s an imperfect storm for them,” he claimed. “Scottish clubs’ over-reliance on match-day revenue is a general problem but Celtic and Rangers also have the two biggest wage bills in this country. However, while Celtic have signed a lucrative new deal with Adidas, Rangers will be having their kits manufactured by new boys Castore, which means that – unlike Celtic - they won’t receive a large advance from them.

“Add to that the fact that Rangers have no cash reserves while Celtic have £35 in the bank and that Rangers have no credit facilities with any bank and it’s an unhealthy place for them to be in at this particular point in time. They have no cash or access to cash and the only way out of that I can see is for their directors to issue even more loans and eventually convert them in to equity, which has the effect of further devaluing the worth of the club’s shares.

“Celtic fans regularly criticise major shareholder Dermot Desmond but they should be careful what they wish for. There’s never been a better time for any club to have a genuine billionaire on hand.”
"
He’s the Waylon Smithers to septics monty burns so he’s probably high on poppers :))

mentally challengeds on the front foot, aided again by their paid for rag.

I wouldn’t trust them looking after my dugs shit.

It's incredible how much they still talk about our finances when, in reality, it's their own that are plummeting at an alarming rate. Once these "journalists" lose their jobs at that rag wait til you see their true colours (or should i say tricolours) show on social media when they don't have a job to try and and pretend to be impartial in.

Timmy porn.
Not interested in his opinion.

They need champs league cash or big sale to function, this is a deflection tactic. How is European competition going to function with no fans.

Was Hayes a first choice? Who the fúck is Calvin Miller? I know potato head played sometimes but never ever heard of the other one.

Neither seem indications of massive cost cutting to be honest.

Hayes was often chosen ahead of Taylor and Bollingoli so, strange as it may seem, he was a first team player.

More garbage and fake news from the Daily Rebel

No wonder the club are banning Keech and blanking other DR “reporters”

We should keep using fan media outlets like H&H 4lads etc and tell the print mhedia lies and bullshit stuff like this from non entity mentally challengeds like David Slow is why our fans are not buying or clicking on their stories as they are just anti Rangers propaganda

All Scottish teams will be suffering financially during this pandemic but the slant is clearly aimed at showing us up but when the spotlight goes onto their accounts at Parkpaed it’s not too clever

Desmond is as dodgy as phuck with his Latvian banking issues and the court cases in France but I’ve not seen ONE single report on this in this cesspit

The mhedia up here are scum and I hope the club continue to keep them out

The Daily Record would be better looking at its own finances and working out that its printing pish like this thats led to them falling off a cliff.

Just another nail in their coffin, they're smarting over the recent move by the club to go down the fan media route, this article will be part of them trying to bite back over not getting the news about Hagi.

The traditional media is done now, they'll be rotting in hell soon enough.

David low is a crooked scheming bastard who fleeced the tims just as much as wee fergus did. And most of them hate him still, which tells it’s own story.

low is a crook and a bigot. Nothing really more to be said of this cretinous, odious rhat of the highest order.
Hides his bigoted beliefs very well behind his financier and uber intelligent persona.
Wonder if anyone has ever forensically audited his books?

Phil3names would have been as well writing that nonsense.
And by the way, they are best pals these clowns.
so many of these mentally challengeds sing off the same hymn sheet.

they all still say the same, repetitive dullard bullshit.

they might as well walk around Glasgow or Donegal with a big sign on their backs saying “I wish sevcooooooooooo wur deed”

obsessive mhanks who deserve to be read but only in order to absolutely mock them and use their own work as a club to beat them with.

"...they have no cash or access to cash...". How the f*ck does he know that!!! What a load of pish!! Honestly sometimes I weep!
However in same interview says we would need.to rely on our directors for more money, so we either have access to cash or we don't, papish b4st4rd that he is

Had it not been reported the Adidas deal/payments were up in the air due to COVID.

We’re selling season tickets, my Gers memberships and have had an advance from Castore. If we were really struggling we would have held off or cancelled the Hagi deal. File under made up bullsh1t or Timmy porn.

Was simunovic not the Serbian John Terry and they could have sold him for £12 million if they wanted.

“Celtic fans regularly criticise major shareholder Dermot Desmond but they should be careful what they wish for. There’s never been a better time for any club to have a genuine billionaire on hand.”
we have Genuine supporters and no legal cases that is about to cost us millions.

here's to justice being done

Always find it strange that they ask Celtic supporters about our finances. It's obvious they,'ll get a negative answer which they,'re core readership will lap up.

Put a complaint in about that "how would an ex-director definitively know anything about what funds Rangers have access to and why would an alleged non-bias newspaper query anything Rangers related to someone connected with the club that exists in their shadoe"? The more we complain the more it costs them.

They just love to 'chokey wank' about our finances.

It gives their sisters a bit of a break from having to do it to them.

He is not privy to either our kit deal or theirs, so why he feels he is in a position to comment without any basic knowledge of the deals is just bizarre.

I was under the impression we received a £3m upfront fee with Castore, so if true then that just means David Low is talking complete shite. We are Castore’s highest profile sports club, they are young and hungry and will be putting a lot of time, effort and money into the agreement to ensure it is a success.

Whereas the Tims will get an off the shelf design, they will be way down the list of priorities of a company that has just borrowed £3bn to keep the lights on. Adidas are blaming the pandemic, but I am quite sure I read Nike’s sales did not fall off the edge of the cliff like Adidas sales did, which hints at other issues at play.

Either way, given all of the above, I would rather have a company like Castore, with new, serious cash investors behind them, at the moment.

If you actually go into detail on Rangers financial standing and assets, and compare it to the other half, then it is not as black and white as they will have you believe, even after GCC have went out their way over the last 15 years to assist them financially. They are dependant on either CL money every season or selling an asset (it appears to be Ajer they want out the door this year, given the bizarre and untrue stories of Milan and Real being interested in him. Guessing Edouard and McGregor are too important to them this coming year).

Someone like Dermot Desmond has no intention of using all the cash reserves in the business to plug the gaps caused by coronavirus, just look at British Airways handling of their cash reserves. Also, unlike the Tims, we at least actually own our stadium, which you would think is most clubs biggest asset.

The Daily Record is just dying a slow painful death, lashing out and swinging at anything that might give them hits. On one hand it is sad and desperate, yet it is also beautiful to see at the same time. Circulation down from 454k to 104k in 14 years. Out of business by the end of the decade I think. Ooft!!
When I worked for Menzies around 25 years ago the record was the big dog today it's a maggot Rangers have million's of supporters world wide who would contribute to the club, just give us the call. I know that ST holder's are bearing the most of the cost,it's why I have joined Mygers and 1872 and will contribute more if called upon. Rangers will never die.

Why do the great unwashed never look at their own Finances?

From what I can gather they have just freed Kouassi, Simunovic and Hayes, those 3 players alone cost them roughly 8.5 mill in transfer fees and many millions more in wages, that’s a huge outlay with nothing brought in, if that were Rangers the Sevcoholics would be all over it in a flash.

Lovely, makes me feel warm inside reading that.

Wonder in which particular Yahoo hovel noted Sevcoholics Ewing Grahame and David Low concocted that pile of shite.

Celtics bank balance won't be long in running out.

Has this guy missed the fact that most of our ticket income is still going to come in?

In fairness, he does make the point Celtic only have £35 in the bank. Lol

And yes, they are conveniently ignoring the fact season ticket sales are strong and the new deal with Castore which will effectively mean the club has an actual commercial deal that will benefit the club for the first time in recent memory. Facts that make me far less worried after we were stuck at the top of the list of vulnerable clubs in Europe. And yet Celtic were 2nd on that list... Not much has changed for their accountants.

Can't wait to see their wage bill drag them down. No question, THAT is the reason they are desperate for new seasons fixtures. Suddenly can't get back to football fast enough!

What good fortune no-one called the Scottish cup yet! Even if the remaining fixtures need to be forfeited by the opposition cause every other team are having to release so many players that they can't field 11.

The words that David Low could have been uttered by Peter Lawwell, but true to form periodically Liewwell summons his lackeys to do his dirty work for him. In the article, Low is described as the man who (along with McCann) saved Celtic from bankruptcy. All of this information is eagerly conveyed in the first few lines, their intention???? To create an atmosphere of fear and anger for Rangers fans with the hint of bankruptcy lingering on the sidelines.
The Daily Rebel has previous form here and they have attempted to unsettle Rangers fans with their tales of woe and disaster.

Why did this story suddenly emerge? Very simple really, Rangers announced a very healthy commercial deal which can only strengthen Rangers and thus threaten Celtic's dominance. We have also got rid of players surplus to requirement. And all of this is BEFORE we even factor in the season ticket money which remains our main source of income. This 'article' is fake news, don't believe a word they write, crayon in hand. The Daily Rebel? I wouldn't wipe my arse with it.
