So, so predictable. The day after we cuffed them in the 29th, you’d have expected something in his column right? I mean when we were getting pummelled last season his column was never shy highlighted the gulf between the two teams and the same old rhetoric.

No, after we turn in a terrific performance playing them off the park, Provan opted for a piece attacking Neil Doncaster. Not a mention of the game, and interestingly not a mention of the Morelos ‘incidents’. That came the week after following the full blown Mhank deflection machine going into full service.

His article for the 30th December is missing from the Suns webpage. He is no friend of Rangers, another Sellick mouthpiece.

He’s backed Ashley all this time but cannot realistically say anything positive about him at Rangers.
Next best alternative?
Try to criticise King instead.
Throw some mud, hope some sticks but settle for English, Spiers, ill Phil and the like picking it up and running with it.
 
Maybe ask a question as to why his beloved need to hang on to their cash mountain but that would mean facing some uncomfortable truths
If there new club or boys club nothing to do with us defence doesn't work there is a real threat they could be the ones facing liquidation
But let's all close our eyes and maybe it will go away
 
Fu*k me,the questions that should be getting asked by the media is why the tims are not spending money on players. As we know it's all about the rangers,when #55 comes along the mental heath care funding will collapse under pressure from the tims and their media whores. Can't wait.
 
Bitter bitter man. See him on the train a lot but never speak to him. Might just speak next time we meet and ask him about our finances as he like all the poets seem experts.
 
Nice to know that he is hurting. Provan ad his ilk seem to be unable to do some basic maths. Rangers' turnover for the year ended 30 June 2018 was £32.6m. Now that will have included a good slug of the season ticket money for season 18/19. But the flipside is that we will of course sell 45,000 or so season tickets prior to 30 June 2019. Call it 45,000 at say £500 a pop. That gets you to £22.5m. Add in £15m from the UEFA Cup run. That gets you to £37.5m. Add in TV money, kit sales etc and I would be very surprised if our turnover for the year ended 30 June 2019 isn't at least £45m, so well up on last year. Oh, and we have supportive shareholders who kicked in £10m or so by way of a share issue. Our income to wage ratio will likely look pretty decent. I'd much rather have ours than theirs on that front. If I was Davie I would be much more inclined to worry about how you service a £60m wage bill on the other side of the city without Champions League football. The Celtic cash pile is being rapidly eroded. And just imagine if they don't win the league and have another season of no CL and £60m plus wages. Oh well, never mind.

He seems to be genuinely rattled .... endless articles about King, pleading for Gerrard to leave, where’s the money coming from etc.

55, when it comes, is genuinely going to push Provan and many others of his ilk, into a nervous breakdown. Mind when you put the pencils up your nose Provo .... pointy end first. Wibble wibble .....

Then at Hearts Johnston was sent off for allegedly butting Davie Provan, though he maintains the Celtic man, attempting to impede a throw-in, went down with no contact having been made. As he walked down the tunnel, Johnston got in a "wee altercation" with the Celtic manager, Billy McNeil. In both instances, SFA bans were not long in coming.

Much like the phantom bottle thrown at Morton fans a few years ago....which also made Provan's column.
 
Dave king was slated and derided with calls of "Show us the £30 million" when he took over.
Now that him and the three bears are spending money, via soft loans that will be transferred into shares, we are being reckless!!
 
Oh davie your pain from being overlooked all those years ago is absolutely delicious.Pity you aren’t as vociferous in your attacks on the perverts who infiltrated your club or the criminals who covered up their crimes or the complicit press/ex players not wiling shout from the rooftops about it.Such a pity you don’t use your column inches for some good.But no Wee snide digs at a club who rejected you is your level.Enjoy your hate davie it’s all your good for.

Provan is correct, something does stink...
but, it's not eminating from Ibrox though. Provan should look around his old club for disgusting smells.
 
does he not recall St Pats have spent more than one player than SG has in rebuilding the entire Gers squad !!! 4 players (so far) signed in Jan for £0.00, common sense, well planned, thinking ahead purchases.

and cash rich St Pats ??? not for long - few court cases on the horizon.........
 
We've brought in two players on loan and signed two players (free) on pre-contracts.

Spending looks criminal though, hahaha :D

Lapping up every minute of the meltdown, can't quite believe it's still rumbling on.

Is there any way we could change the title of the thread. Lots of young bears might start to confuse our late Davie Provan, the original and towering gentleman, with this imposter who played for the dark side. Mr Provan and his family are true Rangers supporters and it would be nice if we can make the clear distinction between the two. Sorry for the rant but I wouldn’t want Mr Provan’s name to be sullied in any way. It would be insulting to the man who was a true gentleman in every way and his legendary status within Rangers.
