Davie Robertson - New Peterhead F.C. Manager.

Good luck Robbo.
Loved him as a player and he was victim of one of the worst decisions i've ever seen on a football park, flagged offside after scoring v the manks where he had to run past two of their players.

Lovely guy

Had him at our dinner up here and he was really good with the troops - his stories and his wife’s about Kashmir were funny as funk.

Hopefully got Kym on our committee going forward :)

Good luck Davy

Was he not another Rangers player who paw Broon didn't see eye to eye with on a personal level? Or was it simply a case that the school headmaster was so in awe of big tie Tosh and his world class crossing ability?

Hoping for @SDF to come along and remind me.
Seem to remember Brown 'explaining' that he did indeed believe Robertson's final ball wasn't as good as that of Tosh McKinley. Each to their own I guess. Strange.

I will be keeping an interested eye on his progress with Peterhead.
Best of luck Davie

Was he not a "specialist" though? First and only time I'd heard a player described as that, and never forgot it. Three caps?! incredible.
One of those statements that, a quarter of a century later, still has me amazed that Paw Broon came away with. A specialist crosser, I believe.

You get the term "free-kick specialist", most uttered by commentators, but this seemed like some formal job description which sounded peculiar then, and, as you say, still does.

Broon also came away with the classic 'we won on corners' after losing to Greece. Late 94, I think.

Too young for Caldow but my dad and uncles said he was brilliant. For me, very close between Numan and Robertson, Arthur the better footballer, Davie the better defender and tackler. Too close to call for me.

All the best, Davie; from another member of the Robertson clan.
Let them f*cking know you`re around pal. :))

I was at a Sportsman's Dinner years ago, whereby Broon was drafted in as the replacement for the main Speaker, who had a last minute issue, that meant he couldn't appear.
2 minutes in, his words were " A lot of people think I'm a Rangers man, however I couldn't care less about them". 3/4 of his reportoire was then spent on having sly digs at Rangers.
A very odd individual to say the least.

I must be the only person I know who never saw the Real Kashmir documentary, I've tried searching to watch it online but can't find any links, does anyone know any sites I can watch it on please.

All the best to Davie. He is right up there as one of our best ever left backs. 3 Scotland caps, what a joke.

Peterhead Football Club can confirm that today we have parted company with First Team Manager David Robertson and his Management Team.

Unfortunately results have been disappointing and the club felt that a parting of the ways would be in the best interests of Peterhead FC.

We would like to go on record to thank David for his contribution to the club and he leaves with our best wishes.

For this weekend’s match against Alloa Athletic, club Captain Ryan Strachan along with Jordon Brown will assume the role of Joint Caretaker Manager.

Not been following the results closely but considering the results before he arrived I'd suggested this maybe more the fault of the club committee than the management team.
He inherited a very poor squad of players, and had to shop in the bargain basement for potential replacements.
Good luck Davie.
