He got a round of applause in RPs stadium after he won the world cup
Define linePlayers should be doing a line rather taking a knee before their next game.
This..He’s had a cocaine habit for about three decades.
I think that was the joke.Define line
He loved cocaine.
Maradona is up there with Pele for me with regards to sheer individual brilliance. He lit up world cups and was determined to win it for his country.
Sure Messi and Ronaldo are brilliant, but you could take Maradona in his prime, put him in a pub team to take on anyone, and the pub team would do alright.
Nothing to do with uber staunch, I’m a massive maradona fan I just don’t like the way he treated a very sick manJesus f*ck, is no thread safe from folk that need to show how staunch they are.
RIP El Diego, the best to have ever played the game.
Fantastic post.Maradona.
Just the name conjures up the magic of football.
Diego the devil, Diego the lunatic, Diego the angel, Diego the one-man team, Diego the supreme conjurer, Diego probably the ultimate football legend.
Mankind has lost one of its most enigmatic sons in the entire history of the human race.
Yes, ... Diego was that good and maybe, sometimes ... that bad.
Not a fan of him personally, but was undoubtedly one of the greatest players ever to play our game.
What has he said?Best ever in my eyes, shitty comment from Lineker.
He’s a plank just trying to be funny / being a smart arse.Best ever in my eyes, shitty comment from Lineker.
Very sad news - and so young.I was lucky enough to see Maradona play - and score - against Scotland, in a friendly at sun-kissed Hampden Park in June 1979. Scorcher of a day, seared in my memory. He was a wonder kid, like me just short of his 19th birthday, but just a shade more talented with a ball at his feet.
Who can forget the incredible goal he scored against England en route to winning the 1986 World Cup.
Gone too soon (although we all know why). RIP, one of the greatest players of all time.
What has he said?
Gary Lineker puts his foot in it: England star who faced Diego Maradona at 1986 World Cup says 'hopefully he'll find comfort in the hands of God'
The wife and the visiting mother-in-law are upset by the news. As mentioned, it's not solely about football or even Maradona. It's what he represents.Youre 100% bang on, mate
News readers are in tears announcing the news. Just watched a bit there the guy could barely get the words out.He is God to them,They even have a church named after him
Everyone loves him even the rival supporters of Boca Juniors because he was great for their country
That doesn’t happen in our back water of a country
You've lost me.christ, this place is always on about everyone being snowflakeš so if people are going to greet about that then they’ll need have a re-think next time they think about using that term.
You've lost me.
He didn't put his foot in it , he chose his words carefully and knew exactly what he was saying.Gary Lineker puts his foot in it: England star who faced Diego Maradona at 1986 World Cup says 'hopefully he'll find comfort in the hands of God'
