Do we have a new strategy for PR?

There has been a distinct improvement but still not enough for me. We should be fighting them getting this title rather than going on about asterisks. We seem more afraid about being accused of sour grapes than them getting a distinct advantage next season through the CL money.

We should have challenged the vote legally from the start instead of trying to win a vote we knew we had no chance of doing. What was the point of a dossier if we werent prepared to act on it? Now we look like we’re nothing but talk.

We really need to drop the concern with how we appear. It does us no favours in this day and age.
Right enough Dominic

PR was only part of the problem.
We can have the best PR in the game but if the press won’t print it, we won’t get our message out.
Very true but there’s been a noticeable difference with the animosity. I’m not sure if that’s down to Traynor or King stepping down. Both that and the new guy, who knows.

You all kid your selves on,there is no shift from anyone who gets paid for doing it ,they have a platform
but really do very little with it benefiting us .

Folk that think it's our PR that gets Walter on Sky or Ally on Talksport or Boyd writing columns are feckin delusional.
Same as folk that think Holicom run the media for the scum.
People totally overestimate the role of PR companies.

I think the opposite is true, people totally underestimate the role of good PR people and companies. Good PR companies set the narrative for their client to follow.

What has it got to do with our PR department what McCoist, Boyd, McAuley or whoever has to say in public?

They are not employed by the club and I doubt they would get briefed on what to say.

I don’t see what it’s got to do with our new PR strategy.

Glad it’s not just me asking the obvious question.

Amazes me that the power of suggestion is not taken seriously by some on here. The Goebbels assertion -repeat the lie often enough and it becomes the truth - helped the Nazis and the power of subliminal suggestion has been demonstrated for entertainment purposes by guys like Derren Brown. Trump was greatly helped to win an election by a company from Oxford who examined demographics and saw what buttons to press irrespective of fact. These techniques can be used, not only in influencing public opinion but in less sinister ways such as advertising products . The point being, we shouldn’t underestimate the effect it can have on us whether aware of it or not. Clearly many value the power of PR and even hire companies who specialise in it. Their jobs are made easier if over the years they can use the many acolytes placed in the media and other positions of power.
