Don Of The Dead - Aberdeen FC’s new stadium plans could be wrecked by remains of plague victims – as expert warns disease could resurface

This must be the best excuse they could dream up to can the whole project.
They have been successfully pretending to be building a new stadium now since before Scotland attempted to host Euro 2008. They will either be at Pittodrie forever or end up moving in to the Balmoral with Cove.

what happened to the plans to build the stadium about 5 miles west of Aberdeen? Did they just give up on that? :D
They actually started work but paused it during COVID. Cormack is less keen and City Council keen to keep them in the City, so proposing a bribe, sorry joint funding

The George A Romero memorial arena will end up being another Cambuslang, nothing more than a fantasy to fleece sheep fans of their hard earned wool, I mean money

Well I suppose starting another pandemic is definitely one way for the rest of the world to learn who the fuck your club is without creating one sided rivalries.

It has been all talk, no action regarding this stadium for years.

Im half expecting Dundee FC new stadium plans to go down a similar route.

The same plague burial issues, exists down at the old St James playing fields in paisley that was being discussed as a Glasgow airport rail link route.
That is typhoid victims of which there were a great many graves that were not correctly recorded.

The press up there are at it.

It's a pit where dead sheep who suffered from Ovine Johne's Disease or Scabby Mouth were buried:shh:

Can’t believe no one has posted that Stuart Milne crying picture yet

Shouldn't really laugh at other peoples misfortune , but in this case fill yer boots . The dolly scumbag support deserve everything thrown at them.

What happened to the site at Westhill that Stewart Milne owned, couldn't build more houses on so let on as if he was "donating" it to Aberdeen to build on?
Is that dead in the water?
Also, I didn't want them to move from Pittodrie. I love going to that shit wee stadium and having aggro at the fence.

The story is based entirely on one retired ex-councillors opinion. No idea if she has raised a valid issue or not, but you would think a national newspaper could have got a comment from the council and asked a relevant expert for their opinion.

The headline claims Aberdeen’s new stadium plans could be wrecked by remains of PLAGUE victims – as expert warns disease could resurface.
The "expert" they then roll out is some old granny, whose level of expertise is having been taught about it in school around seventy years ago.

In all seriousness, given that they cannot even sell out against us, their biggest, baddest bogeyman cum ahem, rivals, why would they have needed a new place to up their game four times a season anyway?

What’s the problem, they literally built Pittodrie on the site where all the horseshit produced in the city was dumped back in the day!
They are currently trying to get the Aberdeen council to build them a new stadium as part of a regeneration scheme in the city and beachfront. Probably hoping the UK govt we’re going to pony up the money direct to Aberdeen council, but a wee Lib Dem coalition deal let the SNP take control of the council. Hopefully blows that idea out of the water.
