Doncaster now warning of dire consequences of no reconstruction

The deficit of £10m is all that needs thrown in front of the top flight teams to make them vote the way they want this to go.
If they can make that deficit disappear, the club's will vote through whatever makes that happen
That's gonna be sold as:
Reconstruction and giving Sky more games for TV..
(Rangers and Celtic closed door home games?

The same spin , will filter down the league's...
No money unless you vote this through.
No - the £10m doesn't actually exist does it? Thought that only applied to N&V. ;)

In reality I would expect them to have some trouble making it disappear. Approx £4m is due to BT who probably won't be that interested in picking up the games not covered by Sky next season.

Sky, who are due approx £6m, have all the games they want. Total of 54 games gives them all Rangers and Celtic away games, all Edinburgh derbies, all Dundee Utd Aberdeen games, the end of season relegation deciders and title clinching games plus about another 8 random games. Can't imagine them wanting too many Hamilton St Mirren type games for £6m.

The pantomime rolls on relentlessly. Yet if you read some journalists, keech aside obviously, but like Michael grant in the Times reporting on the Hagi signing you'd think we were the home and not this combination of self preservationists and scum stooges.

Doncaster is totally correct, premiership clubs can not afford to turn down Budges plan

they are currently guaranteed 3 old firm pay days with the revenue it generates and could afford to give one of these up to allow Hearts to survive

not an expert on football club finance but common sense dictates that there will still be significant costs in staging any game with no fans without even taking into account the risks/ costs of long coach Journeys

All to appease 2 clubs the poor must must suffer and be grateful for crumbs from the masters table

The Rangers resolution allowed clubs access to the money they needed.

The SPFL chose to disregard that option
And this is, of course, the correct answer. In fact, it is the only answer.

the fact the SPFL decided it was better to serve a #CarveUp in the way they did rather than to save clubs without having to disadvantage them in a sporting sense just shows exactly what they were trying to achieve all along. To hand a tainted title out to scum.

rangers’ resolution served to help all the clubs, not relegate them or crown them, but to financially help them through the difficult period.

thanks to the false stories from the anonymous bloggers and the like, everybody decided it was better to believe that rangers demise for the umpteenth time was imminent and the resolution was only to help us and not everyone else, when it’s now been proven otherwise.

the whole thing has been ran as a sham from day dot.

If League reconstruction was the only way to avoid dire consequences and the self-destruction of Scottish football, why was it only going to be considered if the clubs voted through the corrupt proposal to end the season?

Surely it would have been required regardless of the outcome of the rigged vote if it was crucial to saving our game.

When my

kids were young they would ask for McDonald’s I would say what day is it ? They would reply Friday or whatever day it was.
I would then say it’s against the law to buy McDonald’s on Friday ! Do you want me to go to jail ? No dad end of story

Little did I know then I had all the credentials necessary to be CEO of the SPFL

He’s making it up as he goes along

A club that can't fulfil its fixtures in a 12-10-10-10 will not suddenly find itself able to fulfil fixtures in a 14-14-14.

Exactly. League Reconstruction is a total distraction from the real issues requiring attention.

The SPFL Executive and Board (with one honourable exception) have created this clusterfuck and I reckon more clubs will begin to see it and add to the 13 not happy with the game's governance.

I'd hope Rangers will abstain from any vote on this farce.

Abstain, I actually support voting against and backdoor deals done to end the season yet retain the SC, stinks from top to bottom and sadly now had enough of it all I hope many clubs now go to the wall and it needs a complete restructure which hopefully would allow us the leave - unprecedented times so you never know

are we one of these two clubs?

She also suggests a redistribution of prize money currently available for teams 1 to 12 so that teams 13 and 14 get a larger share. So all Premiership clubs (or 90% of them) need to vote for them to have less money and approx half of them to have one less home fixture against the Old Firm.

It's the only way to save them - give them less money :))

They’ll take the money from first place (or top 2) and CeItic will vote for it, nothing surer.

If the concern is about survival of clubs in the lower leagues and a restructure would save the day why don't they restructure the lower leagues and leave the Premier league as it is. No wait...that wouldn't save Hearts and the SPFL could potentially end up in court and that is really what this fcuking charade is all about.

Stewart Robertson said at the very outset that all we needed to do was separate out the Finance part from the Admin part in terms of votes, which would allow them time to discuss without any duress, the structure in a well thought out and pragmatic way.

These clubs response to that was that its Rangers idea so we don't like it, just geez the money

Pathetic.... they all deserve what they get

Wouldn’t even care if several teams went out the game now, they’ve voted for it themselves basically sucking up the mentally challengeds.

If reconstruction is needed to save our game, why was it not part of the SPFL original resolution. It was only after the corruption of Dundee that reconstruction came to the table.

Here we go again. Groundhog day as disaster looms unless the SPFL and their controller get their way. Why bother, the whole set-up is a shambles whatever happens.

This is typical SPFL 'leadership'. They come up with a proposal that relegates Hearts and may doom them to administration (to hell with it though if it means Lawwells team get a title). They force it through with threats and corruption They then realise the consequences and position themselves as saviours with reconstruction. They force it through with threats and corruption?

In both instances those who don't fall in line become the villains. Who might that be? Us of course.

Here we go again another change of selective narrative to suit an agenda.

The bottom line here is the game has been run into the ground due to the incompetence and questionable actions of Doncaster, his band of followers and certain boardroom members of certain clubs along with MacLennan and the mentally challenged lawyer.

I'm beyond sick of it all bet some clubs wished now they voted for an independent investigation eh ?

Scotland's clubs will be warned next week that failure to thrash out league reconstruction in time for next season will effectively press the self destruct button on the professional game in this country.

Record Sport understands SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster is bracing himself for a series of monumental meetings next week - beginning on Monday when he will hold crisis talks with all 12 top flight clubs.

And Doncaster will attempt to hammer home the message that a radical overhaul of the current league structure - and in particular the lower three leagues - is no longer an option but an absolute necessity.

The move comes after an SPFL board held an emergency meeting to study a reconstruction ‘discussion paper’ put forward on Tuesday by Hearts owner Ann Budge.

Thursday’s meeting of the Hampden top brass also centred around growing concerns over next season’s Championship after a number of second tier clubs admitted earlier this week that they cannot afford to start up the next campaign behind closed doors.

And now Doncaster will have to spell out the dire consequences of any failure to agree on a new format in time for football’s big re-start.
Would this be the same Doncaster that says he is merely a servant of the league clubs and has no authority trying to exert his authority.
I agree we do need reconstruction and it should start with Doncaster,McLennan and McKenzie ,get them out and bring in truly I ndependent forward thinking individuals who have the benefit of the game at heart and not one club.

So to Simplify, this is all to save legal action against spfl and will benefit only one club, only the top flight will play a full season next season and Doncaster will use bully boy tactics to make sure the 1 & 2 clubs vote his way. Stinks

Total and utter corrupt set up.

They will do and say anything to avoid Hearts taking legal action, which imo they wont do anyway.

If this "Save Hearts" campaign succeeds then Scottish football is finished. If clubs are still happy to go along with the blackmailing SPFL then they deserve what they get. Whatever happened to our campaign to remove Doncaster and Peter's other two lapdogs? Has our dossier been shelved or are we still going to actively pursue this?

And in two years time, pressure will be mounted and the "temporary" plans become permanent. It's be spun as doing the wee teams a favour

All we need now is a 16 league to help the poor championship teams who can’t afford to play behind closed doors, help clubs like Dundee.

Seems we could have called the leagues null an void and skipped a whole lot of shit
The fallout for the whole game here is bewildering, was the extent of being honest really the most difficult thing to do rather than appeasing the most corrupt club in football?

Scottish football, sadly, needs some teams to go bust. Many teams represent communities but we cannot survive with 42 clubs. That may be the consequence of all of this. Sad but I believe necessary. Many fans of these smaller clubs will be lost to the game.

He hasnt even came up with a new tagline, its the same shite they used to blackmail teams into giving Celtc the title.

The SPFL have killed Scottish football just to make sure Celtc didnt lose out. Adding 2 teams into the league is going to reduce teams income as it reduces games against us and Celtc so how is that saving teams from financial problems? Just come out and say we need to placate the teams that we blackmailed to gift Celtc the title so nobody thinks about taking legal action of any sort.

Im done with Scotrish football.

I'm thinking one league of 42. Obviously, we'll still have to play each other 4 times, so it might take 2 years to complete

Scottish Football and all of the corruption could be the best documentary, the best book, the best news story. But not one single person is prepared to do it.

Shitebags. It’s there to be blown wide open whoever has the balls to do it.

In the mean time it’ll hate itself to death and half the clubs go out of business. All because of what...mentally challenged dick.
the title of documentary would be (shameless)
