SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster expects a further 20 Scottish Premiership games to be purchased by a broadcaster other than Sky Sports.

The 54-year-old also told BBC Radio Scotland he is "optimistic" on finding a new title sponsor for the top four divisions.

An additional package of fixtures would be on top of Sky Sports' updated deal, which will give them the option of showing a maximum of 60 games from the top flight, up from 48 in recent years.

Doncaster named Amazon Prime, Premier Sports, TNT Sports and DAZN as potential suitors to take the additional TV games.

We're going up from 48 to a maximum of 60 with Sky, giving the clubs the ability to have up to five pay-per-view games a season," Doncaster said on BBC Sportsound.

so the mega deal will have clubs paying £250k a game to the new broadcaster to show the games after all his expenses, the consultants he hired as well as the low level paper gatherers to check the legal contracts, the spfl commision fee, the mandatory lower league donation fee............

He’s just throwing out names of companies, there’s no indication any of them would bid for a package which likely won’t include any of the bigger games that Sky have.

Sky haven't even shown some Rangers and Celtic away games until the current deal so that might the case here where this package with another broadcaster may would allow that to happen

With a 5 home quota from next season then that still to taken into account no natter the broadcaster
 
Sky have recently declined to show us at Tynecastle and Pittodrie, that lot at Tynecastle, Edinburgh derbies etc.

Sky do not care about the SPFL.

Doncaster will take anyone as long as it’s guaranteed cash. Tony Macaroni League, the White Lightning Manger of the Month, games live on Babestation….. promise him cash, he’s yours.

One of the worst things to ever happen to Scottish football - letting him and his cronies in.
 
If there are that many tv companies interested in Scottish football, why did you do a deal locking the SPFL into a deal with sky for buttons?
More hot air and pretty pictures, but no substance, and definitely no self awareness. The last sponsor is finishing the deal early, so any new sponsors will be wary of the shambles Cinch had to contend with. None of it was Rangers fault, they were told it went against our current sponsorship with Parks, and they still went ahead, obviously unknown to the sponsor themselves.
I wouldn’t trust the cůnt to get a football card filled, never mind a proper sponsor.
 
How can you be hopeful of something factual. Is the deal as it stands (signed or not) going to be better than the current deal.

It either is or it isn't. For him to hope, he would need to have no knowledge of what the figures are. Not that that would be surprising.

That is what happens when you 4 home quota in place (5 from next season) - Sky like any broadcaster have be carefully in it's picks and that quota is done on the insistence of Rangers and Celtic to protect their home games from always been picked remove the quota and unlock to access the better games and just might just get a better deal

Of course you need better people to run the game in Scotland as well

Absolute disgrace he's still in the position he's in, stealing £400k a year for it too.

If his notice period had been triggered when it became public knowledge it was 2 years notice needed I'm sure we would be near getting rid of him, but instead we stumble on with him massively underselling the product.

The fact that he is discussing an unsigned sponsorship deal shows how amateur he is. The other party now have him over a barrel - he won't be able to come back without a deal in place.

Put it this way - there's no need for them to increase their offer.

An absolute clown of a man.
