Dubai trip - Someone is lying

Also interesting that The Sun have published the whole picture for the first time that shows the non-bubbled people beside Lennon and Brown.
If Donkeycaster is saying that the Scottish government gave consent after November, he must know who it is.
Maybe the useless minister involved did not bother to tell the Fuhrer......

Highly unlikely for the reason you imply mate but I think the most obvious point in this is Scot gov role is not to authorise therefore it’s a clear lie .
Another FF poster I think made a key point if you have ever engaged government / civil service you will appreciate that they wouldn’t bluntly do anything that could rebound negatively - instead they will refer them to the documents

The international community will look at this and say stay away from nationalist politicians and stay away from the Scottish football authorities they are not to be trusted.

They clearly could have gone without specific government approval by the rules that were in place at the time for both elite athletes, and even holidaymakers.

The debate over this the press has manufactured is to detract from the real issue: Covid protocols were not followed on the trip. They had an infection. In every other case so far, this has prompted an investigation, but not for Celtic, for some reason. It doesn’t matter if the government, or league approved it, what matters is that Covid protocols were clearly not followed. THIS IS WHAT NEEDS INVESTIGATED.

They want someone either in government or spfl to take the flack for approving the trip, make it their fault, case closed. This isn’t the issue here, and never was.

If it was authorised when less stringent restrictions and concerns were in place then that’s fine - they had permission relating to conditions at the time.

That circumstances changed and Celtic decided to carry on regardless wreaks of either arrogance or utter naivety on the part of whoever at Celtic FC was in charge of arranging the trip.
When the team got over to Dubai, there were clear incidents where Covid protocols were broken or ignored... in front of a watching public and you need to presume that someone is likely to take a photo of a football team in those circumstances. It seems incredible that the team and coaching staff weren’t being ushered around by someone whose job it was to ensure that the were at least seen to be adhering to all Covid requirements.

Aside from permission that was or wasn’t granted.. for Celtic to get the public mood so badly understood on this is really out of character for them. There appears to be a crisis mode in operation from then from top to bottom.

The supposed greatest season in their history has really turned to shit hasn’t it?

Must admit I’m loving every single minute of it.
Like it's been said , anyone of us could not of got close to this as a pre season prediction .
I've never been on my phone etc so much in my life , everything has been utterly delightful and long may it continue :))

The bottom line is this: who gave them “permission” or not is secondary to the fact that any club with any level of responsibility would not have hoofed off to Dubai in the middle of a pandemic anyways.

End of story.

While it is good to see them pitted against nippy and co it is a bit of a red herring. As you say, it's about what they done there, looks like this is used to deflect away from that.

Which they would shred, the snp have history regarding documentation

Why are they square going the Scottish Government? can only not end well for Scottish football.

They should have just left it at Lawwell's fake apology and whine. They are 100% to blame as are everyone involved from the SPFL and the Government. If they want to argue about semantics then do it outside the media. Theyre like weans getting in trouble, just get the chin up and carry on. Classless, arrogant and clueless.

Some people seem allergic to consideration that Celtic would quite happily see Scottish football tanked this season rather than lose out on their shitey run to Rangers.

If they aren’t lifting Terry Munro in May then they’ll happily see the whole sport in disarray.

Unless of course their real reason is they actually want Scottish football closed down by the government!!

Don't really understand why this is an issue.

At the end of the day, every governing body or whatever could've said it's ok to go. But the decision was still made by Celtic to actually travel. So they might not have broke any rules by going, but even the majority of Celtic fans would admit it wasn't the right thing to do.

Someone is lying?
I’d say the whole lot of them are lying. Which is why good if they are all pointing the finger at each other
