Dundee Utd reserves get beat of some shitty Irish mob in a diddy cup in front of one man and his dog and FF has two pages of punters gloating about it?

I'm an avid disliker of Dundee Utd but some of the comments on this thread about the result is rather embarrassing.

Crusaders score last min goal to win the match

Crusaders spoiled Csaba Laszlo's first match in charge of Dundee United by knocking the holders out of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

An added-time strike from substitute Gavin Whyte ensured the Northern Irish Premiership side progressed to the semi-finals.

United's captain for the day Fraser Fyvie had given them the lead early in the second half with a terrific strike.

But poor marking allowed Dave Cushley to level the match with a free header.

Just as the match looked to be heading for extra-time, the visitors took advantage of a mix-up in the United defence and Whyte duly punished them.

Laszlo is back in Scottish football, having previously managed Hearts
Not one of the United players who started against St Mirren last week to secure the win that put them joint top of the Championship with the Paisley club were included in Laszlo's first starting line-up.

It was an opportunity for a number of youngsters and a few experienced players, who have been on the fringe of the team recently, also getting the chance to to impress the new boss.

James Keatings had the first real chance for United with a 25-yard left-foot shot which flew just over the bar.

William Edjenguele got his head on a Paul McMullan corner but with insufficient power to beat Crusaders goalkeeper Brian Jensen.

At the other end, Jordan Forsyth struck a 25-yard free-kick straight at Deniz Mehmet and Cushley failed to get enough elevation on his chipped effort when he was clean through, his effort easily clutched by the United keeper.

Television presenter Lorraine Kelly was in the home crowd at Tannadice
The introduction of Billy King gave United a new attacking option and he was instrumental in making the breakthrough. His surge down the left wing ended with him turning the ball into the path of the supporting Fyvie and the midfielder from 22 yards struck an excellent shot into the top left corner of the net.

Crusaders equalised when Cushley, unchallenged, easily headed a Glackin corner from the left past Mehmet.

King came close to putting United back in front when his shot slipped through the hands of Jensen but much to the relief of the Crusaders' keeper the ball rebounded back off the right-hand post.

Keatings, Ejenguele and King all went close as United pushed for a winner but it was not to fall for the Scottish side.

And, in the second minute of stoppage time, a long clearance caused indecision at the heart of the United defence and Whyte pounced to blast home the winner and send the Northern Irish side into the last four of the competition.

Aye, it's terrible

Meanwhile, in the real world, the Rangers support will enjoy yet another sign of Dundee United's permanent fall from the top.

As i said i dislike them (hatred is too bad a word for me i don't hate anything). But the fact we have punters on here thinking it is hilarious they got beat of a diddy team in a diddy cup with their most diddy players is laughable.

Really, who gives a flying %^*& about them to first of all start a thread about them and then laugh at the fact they got beat in a cup their new gaffer probably had never heard of?

Not only did someone start a thread, you came in to comment on it.

You don't think Dundee United losing at home, in a third-rate competition, to a mediocre side, in front of an empty Tannadice is worth laughing about then that's your problem, no-one elses.

I opened the thread as had no idea they were playing... Read the op and noticed they had a bunch of reserves/youths playing, had a quick look through the first page and had a laugh at the commnets...

I couldn't give a %^*& about dundee utd. Just think it is embarrassing/funny the way folk are going on here about them losing to a diddy team.

Hate utd as much as the next man but the continued descent of the quality of scottish football in general to league of ireland/wales level is depressing. The leaders at SFA/SPFL should be hunted.

I was there with my brother who is an Arab for his sins, very poor fare, United side appeared to a mix of youth and players that haven't been starting in the league my bro was at pains to mention that they don't play the first team in this competition this season, I was just glad it didn't go to extra time as it was freezing, Crues had a decent support considering and left happy - prefer Glens though
