Match Thread Dundee v Rangers - 20:00 Thursday - Sky Sports

I dont want to start a new thread. But the build up to our goal. Their penalty claim was checked by var and deemed not a penalty, so why was their player not booked for simulation. He done same a few times through first half. Dont know what he was like in second half , as i gave up watching.

This board must take a big chunk of responsibility for firstly giving Clement such a big extension to his contract with nothing really proved, but then something is so very wrong inside Ibrox just now, how can we go from getting beaten by st midden, then absolutely outsmart outplay and shame those B's, to then struggle very badly to get a draw with hivs, to then this showing, something is wrong, has Clement lost the dressing room, is it he's had enough and wants out, and is prepared to adopt this kind of tactics to get out, what? if he's to go one way or another, then do it now, and if the Board do, then the Board has not to go shopping in the bargain basement for a Manager, they have got to get a quality Manager in, there's plenty good quality Managers out there, and so, lets ask the question, if Clement was to go, which Manager would you want the Board to sign

Feeling a bit hopeless now.
Nothing is going to change without a major shakeup at all levels, and I don't think the current board have the balls (or money) to take that on.
Can see our fans trying to force it, and it could get messy. Voting with their feet would be even worse.

VAR doesnt weigh in on yellow cards, only reds. There's enough VAR in the game without giving them the power to view yellows as well.

I don't think sacking Clement at this stage of the season is going to make the slightest bit of difference. Indeed it could actually be very counterproductive in my opinion. Given the current injury situation I don't think that someone new coming in at this stage lof the season is going to revitalise the club. We have shown on more than a few occasions this season that we do have it in us to be a genuinely good team. What we lack, however, is consistency away from Ibrox in league matches and in my opinion the only way that can or will be resolved is by bringing in better players. Clement has had to try to build something from players mostly signed by Gio and Beale. Getting rid of Clement and taking a punt on yet another manager who will then have to start from scratch with the same crew of players is not going to work. I can appreciate the frustration with some supporters but I do not think that the 'sack him' mentality is the correct way for the club to proceed.
I’m in agreement with most of that, but it’s getting harder to try and defend the manager. We seem to be ok playing football teams but can’t get a result against inferior players who are willing to fight their corner doggedly. I’m at the stage now where I don’t know wether to stick or twist. He is trying to rip up a squad and buy young talent. We were never going to win the league this year in my opinion, but this away form is disastrous ! Dundee were also ravaged with injury so tonight can’t be pinned on that. I genuinely don’t know what we should do.

There's something rotten within that dressing room

All far to comfortable
Seems winning is a nice bonus rather than a necessity
Doesn't matter if players leave or go that stays the same

For me it's simply we lost our winning culture in 2012 and have never got it back. A whole team of winners walked out the door. Winning is now just a nice bonus. We have turned into a run of the mill football club

that was so bad how we couldnt score a winner glad i was working during the match , watched it on rangers tv just there he cant continue as our manager

Another inept, embarrassing display from the team.
Simple things like passing to each other from a few yards seemed to be beyond them at times last night. When you play a team where players celebrate a goal kick and punch the air in delight by winning a draw then you realise how far we have fell.

i lost count the number of times we either miss kisked it out for a shy or lost control of ball that then ran out of play for a shy,
we were abysmal tonight.
i won't change my mind on clement he has to go and as soon as possible

We continue to dominate games without looking like scoring, I used to think it was Dessers that was the main issue and his lack of movement but when you have yet another game and don’t recall the centre forward having a shot despite 70%+ possession that’s on the manager and his set up.

Everyone in front of the defence are pretty much first choice for their position so why is it the defensive injuries are to blame? Against hibs after scoring three OK that’s on the defensive mistakes but last night, St Mirren, Motherwell etc etc etc
The manager doesn’t have a fucking clue and it looks like this board a so inept that they are going to keep watching him fail.

Three home games coming up so he might win them and it will all be OK again it would appear until the Ernest away game of course.

Because it wasn’t a dive

All the scrutiny regarding our CH issues is masking the fact that we are suffering badly now from poor fullbacks ,they can't defend and offer little in attack, something else that needs addressed.

It’s damning that we are further behind them since we beat them on January 2nd….if we had lost to them (again) but beat St. Mirren, Motherwell, Hibernian and Dundee then we would be CLOSER to them…..

Not sure if this has been covered but Kelly is never a Rangers keeper. Nice guy but not good enough in my opinion. Obviously last night wasn’t on him entirely but I thought he could have done better at their goal.

So many of the players on the pitch last night totally dominated a Celtic team that are running away with the league.

The same players were abysmal against Dundee.

A lack of desire and more importantly, professional pride, convinces me that we shouldn't be looking at bringing in a new manager at this stage.

That would cost money for a start - which we don't have. And who would we get - any manager that takes this challenge on must be desperate.

A club full of cowardly wage thief's and no transfer kitty!

I really hope someone in the fan media digs Clement up at the next presser about why he felt the need to name drop Igamane in a negative manner after the game.

The guy has been the one player to bring us any enjoyment in recent weeks.

Like everyone else l am scunnered with our inept away performances but l really don't want our club to simply change managers every season. Clement is clearly a man of principle and gravitas, he speaks well and has the "look" of a Rangers manager. David Edgar, Chris Jack and Kris Boyd have made their opinions very clear, l admire these men and would normally agree with them but l believe a defence of Kawanjiro,Souttar, Balogun and Yilmaz would have won that match.

How can we beat Celtic, Nice,Malmö and a good draw with Spurs and be a bad team, we don't have the money to sack Clement and staff, bring in another team and buy new players. I think we have to "bite the bullet", persevere with Clement, win the Cup and take stock at the end of the season.

Do you think the players have downed tools for him? That's a few times he has made comments about players and there doesnt appear to be a positive reaction after it.

My mate who was at the game said Alex Rae was high fiving staff on the bench at full time.

Anyone else see this? High fives after a 1-1 draw with Dundee?! Surely not?

He courteously shook Clement`s hand shortly after FT; when no one else in the backroom intended to.
I was at the game; this is just what I saw on Sportscene when in through the door.
FWIW, in spite of everything going on around our club; I thought the lad Adewumi had a fine game for Dundee.

Bringing in new managers with a squad assembled by the last players they bought is hurting us time and time again.

This season has been poor and Celtic were there for the taking.

Sort out the shit and finish the season well we are capable of being better and we know it. It hurts. End of.
