Sat in the broomloan but the view wasn't great so were moved to the west enclosure. Think John McGregor had a cracking chance to equalise?

I was there, at work I worked through my lunch break to get away early to get to Ibrox.

It was not great, the screens were on the back of big trucks and not the clearest. Having said that, it was good as an experience to watch the game live with other bears.

I don't remember much about the actual game, except I seem to recall McCoist getting in behind and not scoring? Not too sure if my memory is correct on that though.

I was at it and to be honest it was crap, that's all I remember. I think back in those days if you wanted to attend the actual match you had to join the communist party to get a visa for, what was at the time, Russia.

Sun setting and shining on the screens - couldn't see much of the game. The next time they put the screens in front of the main stand (Katowice away)

I was there. In the west enclosure I think. Could barely see a thing due to the sun on the screen.

We had tickets for The Copland Rear.
You could barely see the screen for the sun shining on it.
Moved to The very front of the Copland front to try and see.
One guy wondered on to the pitch and sat down on the pitch in front of the screen.

Was in the Enclosure with my dad and a few pals. Unfortunately the sun shown on the screen making viewing difficult at times.

Done the beam back v the tramps when they humped us. Think it was the game Scott Wilson got sent off.
In the East Enclosure.
Just saying.

Was that the guy who got lifted in the picture?

I was there too but as others have said the sun on the screen made it hard to see but the only way to see the game at that time.

Yes,we were there and remember hundreds moving because of the sun.

The chap who walked on to the pitch ,sat down cross-legged in front of the screen, opened up his packed- lunch and began eating a sandwich much to the laughter of those around us

He was escorted from the pitch by stewards and ,a story I heard later on, received a stadium ban from Head of Security Alistair Hood

Edit: I've just noticed the newspaper pic and see it was the polis who removed him

Can't remember being there but went to a lot of the beamback games. I'd sit up the back of the enclosure and watch it on the TVs there rather than the screens

Was at the beamback against the filth when we had a bad day..
Was also at a beamback from Highbury against Arsenal in the early 90s when i was in London, wasn't a European tie must have been a Scottish v English league winners or something. Was some amount of bears there that night.

I was there in the main stand. The big screen was in front of the Sandy Jardine stand facing the main stand. It was a bright sunny day and the sun shone on the screens.
There was fans in the Copland but don’t think there was in the broomloan ?????

Was in the main stand for this but as already said was an issue seeing full picture at times

The tie against Katowice a year later watched from the Govan Stand a lot better

I’ve always believed that this was the game I sneaked a radio into class to listen too whilst at primary school but now after seeing that it kicked off at 4pm, I must be mistaken.

you didnt have to join the communist party to get a visa
we got ours by booking a 7 day holiday to moscow through the rusian state run tourist board (intourist)
we then asked for a trip to kyiv as part of our holiday

You've solved a mystery for me, bought the Highbury stub years ago, and couldn't think for the life of me why there was one for Ibrox as well, thinking a ground switch, but obviously the Highbury one must've been a beamback

I was at the one at Highbury. Strange experience and people getting thrown out and coming back in again :D

A decent amount of Bears that night as you say.

Thanks, that’ll probably be what I’m trying to remember.

Can’t remember if it was Kyiv away or Bucharest away but we were allowed to watch it in the Assembly hall stage at Cardonald Primary. We were obviously an all welcoming Primary. You got ignored if you were a Tim though. Of which we had zero.

Bucharest away was 1pm UK time kick-off which was live on STV

We were standing on the pitch in front of the enclosure for the Kiev game and the sun was a big problem it was a very tough watch, thankfully the return match was amazing.

Says the press weren’t welcome at the beam back. I take it we were in dispute with them for some reason.
