Watching final score as goals come in and an Aberdeen player has had a straight red for 'encroachment'.

Anyone care to give me an idea how an outfield player gets a red for encroachment??

I might be having a brain fart moment but I'll ask anyway.

A goalkeeper leaving his box with ball can be seen as encroachment but this was an outfield player and it was a straight red lol.

I'd heard it was done out of fear of what would happen if they'd scored. Always felt uneasy any time I've seen it since.
