Entry requirements for overseas players post Brexit (England)

Doesn't harm us in youth terms as we don't do what City and Chelsea do- however they will simply switch full time to S America, Africa and Asia.

It does harm us in that only the wealthiest clubs can sign anyone over 15 points in this daft scale....

As small examples Borna and Alfie wouldn't have met criteria when we bought them.

Fortunately we can have faith that we will be able to bring in players for good value and bring through some of our own youngsters and sell on in the future. All teams will be looking at the implications though.
I'd love to believe that but if our market is restricted and we know that we don't tend to bring through youngsters then it'll be a struggle. There's just very very few Scottish players make it to the level we'd need and with todays distractions for youngsters we'll never get back to bringing through the players Scottish teams did 30 or more years ago. Also, even if did manage to bring through a player or two a restricted market for English teams would likely result in them poaching more youngsters, as we've seen with Billy Gilmour and Dire Mebude.

Ultimately any sort of restrictions will be bad for us but it'll all come down to how the system operates in practice.

Hopefully it balances itself out after a bit of an inevitable rocky period where clubs don't really know what to do. Obviously no restrictions would be the best, but we need to look at any restrictions and see how it can be manipulated. These things often have loopholes.

We may lose some or all of our English based players. They would need to pay for them rite enuf.

I hadn't thought of that actually! As you say the price would need to be right but then who do we buy to replace them?

Id be stunned if this has any tangible impact on football clubs like Rangers. Surely just means EU players have to go through the (pretty lax) work permit rules that non-EU players already need to abide by
