Can't believe the "build up" to this.

I want to boot Sky Sports News in the balls.

Merseyside Derby and Utd v spurs both on Amazon, bright sky would have locked those games up.

Stick Chelsea away at United 430 on the Sunday before they go Istanbul on the Wednesday for Super Cup Final. Easily avoidable.

They could also have released them with the dates and times confirmed up until the CL and EL group stages start. Awful league for match going fans now.

Not sure on your points. Why should Chelsea get an easy fixture just because they are in the Super Cup? They should win anyway.

Additionally, sides going further in the EL/CL will always have tricky matches around European fixtures. Liverpool played Chelsea away and man city at home, before and after a trip away to Napoli. They faced Arsenal away before a hostile trip to Red Star Belgrade. They faced Bayern at home before a trip to Old Trafford.

There will always be good and bad times to face sides, form, injury, etc. all playing a part but there’s not much you can do, as long as fixtures against the other sides near the top are spread fairly.

Not a case of an easy game mate, could easily be played Saturday lunchtime - help the fans a bit who are possibly thinking of going to Istanbul. Also easy to put them at home with that coming up - although granted it’s a pretty meaningless cup.

By letting everyone know as soon as possible when their Clubs will play it helps for planning for trains, hotels, days off etc... Absolutely no reason why all matches up till the start of the CL and EL Group stages cannot have a set date and time now.

Yeah, fair point about the timing of the game, Saturday could have been better.

When do they announce the timings of the games, must be soon?

Written above mate.

The ones released on July 5th will be a farce, be all this that the match can move if so and so have to play the Tuesday of the CL etc as obviously the draw ain’t till end of August.. turned in to a farce the last few seasons.

Looking ahead until the end September their is unlikely to be much issues but I do agree that they could work with both broadcasters and pick August selections prior to release which they have done so for the opening weekend

How many different subscriptions is that we need now to watch Scottish and English matches in a season?
4?

This happens all the time. I think we're the only league that has the tradition of unfurling the league flag on the first day of the season.

German champions always play at home on the Friday night of the new season

Wait and see I guess but absolutely no chance all those involved in the CL Group stages will be put down to play every Premier League match before or after a CL matchday on a Saturday.

Just had a look at last season August to November period

Just one was given 'it might change due to participation in CL' Wolves v Spurs moved back from the Sunday to Saturday night at the start of November

So I doubt you get anything like what you are suggesting in that period this season

It does happen later in the season

Wait and see but if you think what they do at the end of the season is ok then fair play, personally think it is disgusting and if all fans stuck together on this subject then we would not be in the state we are. Sadly they don’t and it’s fucked forever as a result.

There is times where it is unavoidable but most games with the TV changes are set in stone it just the way it works in EPL with the broadcast selection process

Lol, I know pal just think it’s poor for match going fans.

They rarely stick to the tv release date anyway. In short - they do what they want and know fine well everyone will not complain to the point where they would need to change it.

Germany your Europa league clubs fill the Sunday fixtures the weekend after a match day for example, very different in England.

Actually they do stick the published dates as the FSF- Football Supporters Federation along with clubs asked for it to ensure some fairness the odd time it might be a day late

Had look the other fixture TV releases for last season for EPL and it more to with participation in the League Cup and FA Cup where selections were in doubt

Germany yeah they seem to do that now but is now different since they changed their rules on that. Teaming playing in Europe on a Thursday still had to play the Saturday in the past

Nah, they never last season and the FSF complained.

We could go on all day pal, getting the impression you aren’t really a Saturday 3pm man?!

It was the season before that the FSF complained about I am sure they also complained about the lack of 3pm kick-off in the 3rd round of the FA Cup last season oh I like Saturday 3pm kick-off BTW

Below is last season TV selection dates released before the season started and when they actually the selection were announced

Aug/Sept - 6 July - 6th July
Oct/Nov - 7 August - 8th August
Dec/Jan - 12 October - 12th October
Feb - 12 December - 17th December
Mar - 25 January - 25th January
Apr - 22 February - 22nd February
May - 5 April - 5th April MD 37only

England haven't really been bother to give the previous season champions a home game to start unlike up here in Scotland

Man City were away to Arsenal on the opening day last season, so that’s 2 years in a row as Champions they’ve not had a home game to start with.

It doesn't matter to Sky. No one is subscribing to Sky Sports who doesn't already subscribe for those games. It's unnecessary expense.

just had look at the fixture list, looking to get down for the Leicester game start of October, the midweek derby in December, Southampton at start of february, and i can source a ticket again , will be doing goodison derby in march, may throw in a league cup or fa cup game if anything arises
