Euro 2024 Euro 2024 Germany

Anyone flown out of Edinburgh airport already this week? What is security like? Trying to plan when to head to the airport tomorrow.

Flown from Edinburgh a few times over the last month. Can be hit or miss in the summer months. It’s been a bit longer as most of the Jet2 and non frequent flyer punters keep getting their bags rejected at security due to exceeding the amount of liquids they’re allowed. It’s about a half hour wait then as the queue is always 20+ bags deep to check. Would recommend getting fast track security if you plan to arrive 2 hours or less before your flight. Seem to be fine if arriving 2.5 hours or more before a flight (we flew long haul so had to arrive 3 hours to check bags etc)

Not heading over myself but know a few folks who are. What the prediction of the amount of Scotland fans heading to Germany for the experience? BBC presenter just said they expect approx 200,000 Scotland fans to be there but find that exceedingly hard to believe.

When you count in expats, I think it's a pretty plausible figure.

I think I know somewhere between 25-30 guys who are all heading over.

Sorry for what might seem a stupid question or there's no clear answer.

What's a reasonable time to go to the fanzines?

All going to plan me and my dad reach our hotel in Frankfurt around 5pm. We want to go watch the Scotland vs Germany game on the screens, but I'm fully aware it could be jumping with it being Germany and the opening game.

Is it likely if we leave it too late we won't get in due to capacity? Had anyone seen anything about if they think that's likely?

I know a load doing what I’m doing going with there kids as it’s really first tournament since 98 as the last one hardly any fans and was in UK and know few staggers are going think 200,000 is more than likely

Reckon it'll be rammed in every city tomorrow night. Probably 5pm-6pm is your best bet.

Pretty much everywhere will have it on though. I actually prefer watching these games in spatis (convenience stores) than pubs. Much better atmsophere.

I know 15 people going, some not even massive football fans. That number does seem very high, though.

Thanks for the response. I do expect it'll be incredibly busy, so your comment makes sense. Will just need to try and be as early as possible then.

Had to Google what a spati is. Very interesting as I'd never heard of it. Seems like it's just a Berlin thing is that right?

They're known as a "kiosk" in Frankfurt but it's kinda the same thing.

We're in Dusseldorf and I'd much rather watch the game in a pub than a fanzone, but suspect I'm in the minority in our group.

We are going to go along to the fanzine in Frankfurt because the one at the 2006 WC looked tremendous. They had a massive double sided screen on a barge that was anchored in the middle of the river. Generally I’d agree with you though, booking a table at a sports bar or somewhere with a big screen would be my preference.

Anyone made a last minute decision to take in a game? I'm away to start shifts from next week so have a few days off now, compared to Monday - Friday working. Going to have a look at getting to a game, going to be pretty expensive mind you!

I reckon about half that although I’m in Dublin airport at the moment and plenty Scotland fans around. Munich flight in 90 minutes will have plenty

Reading this thread and loving the different travel arrangements that everyone has. Last time I was in Munich was to see Rangers in the semi final getting a 1--1 draw before beating them 2-0 at Ibrox and then of course Barcelona for the final.

Just goes to show lots of Rangers fans still follow Scotland and why not? I am sure I read somewhere we still are the team that provides the bulk of the support as well. Well done.

Getting jealous as well of you lucky buggers travelling.

I'm in the North Stand (Entrance B) - am I in with the Serbs as well? :))
I can’t see an entrance B in the North Stand. Do you not have a section number?
According to the stadium map, the lower tier is N1 to N6 and the upper tier sections are numbered 25-40

Thanks for your help mate, I'm in Block 25 if that helps?

Entrance B seems to be at the north west corner going by the stadium map on the ticketing website.

Got tickets for Slovakia v Ukraine last week. There were another couple went up today for £50 each + fees.
