A dad of three siblings who died in a tragic house fire is "overwhelmed" by the heartfelt gesture of Rangers Charity Foundation. Alex Gibson, 41, was sent a signed jersey alongside a sincere letter from the Ibrox team as the funeral for the three children is expected to take place tomorrow. His three "angels", Fiona, aged 12, Alexander, eight, and Philip, 5, died after being rescued from a house fire on Renfrew Road. The mother of the children, Julie Daley, 39, was seriously injured in the fire but has now been released from the hospital.

Thanking the Rangers charity, Alex wrote: "I cannot believe what just arrived from the Rangers Charity Foundation.
"I am not only overwhelmed but I am completely blown away with this."

The letter read: "Words cannot express how deeply saddened we were to hear about the passing of Fiona, Alexander and Philip and we would like to express our sincere condolences. “We can only imagine how difficult this time must be for your family and friends but we want you to know that the Rangers Family is thinking of you and will always be here to offer support. We hope that this gift will come as a reminder that the Rangers family is holding you all close in our hearts.

“We’d also like to send Julie our best wishes for a full and swift recovery. On behalf of all the players and staff at Rangers Football Club, we would like to take this opportunity to send you our deepest condolences. “Thank you for your support.”

Members of the community will line the route tomorrow as the procession will start at Netherhill Road then pass St Catherine's Primary School, where the two boys attended, and finish at the roundabout at the top of Gallowhill Road. All those who wish to attend are asked to clap softly as the cars pass in a sign of respect to the children and their families. A fundraiser to help the family during this difficult time now nears £30,000.

Deepest sympathy to Alex and Julie. Cannot even begin to imagine the suffering they are experiencing.
Some comfort from our club is great to see.

I can’t read it all my eyes are full of tears.Heartbroken for them.Absolutely heartbreaking. What a terrible thing to happen to them all.Fu*king tragic.

I have three children; two boys and a girl all grown up now, happy and healthy.
Life has dealt many things to me as a father, some I`ve handled well; others not so.
I honestly don`t know how I would have overcome a tragedy such as this; it`s absolutely heart breaking just reading about it.
A kind gesture from our club; really kind words of reassurance in the letter also.
I hope the children`s parents find some solace in it.
God bless them X X X

Same here, mate. I've also got three weans and losing them like this would be unimaginable. No idea how you even start to piece your life back together but taking away a bit of the financial worry is a tiny start so for any who missed it the crowdfunder is here:

Heartbreaking stuff.

Hope they find the strength to carry on, something like that would finish me.

Christ I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that poor guy is suffering and will continue to suffer. I really wish him the best.

A classy gesture from Rangers, but I expect nothing less from because they’re always a class act.

It’s terrible mate, Keep thinking about the three weans. I was working across from the house last week and was about greeting. Sad

How do you get over that.
Big Bhawk knows the fire officer who was in charge that night.
He broke down when he arrived home from his shift and is it any wonder.
An absolute tragedy.

Life can be so cruel and tragic, my heartfelt condolences go the family and friends of the 3 kids. As a parent I simply can’t begin to think of the pain the parents must be feeling.

Losing one child is absolutely horrendous losing all three at the same I just cannot put in the words, im just broken hearted reading about it and my heart just goes out to the parents, how can they go on after what's has happened to them.
