Felix Magath Is Back In Football

Fucking crackpot. Their physio is away to the shops this morning to fill up the van.

Hertha should be a huge club. Great stadium, major euorpean city, huge fan base on their doorstep, good league. Its just never really happened for them.

Think he’s given a bit of a hard time. He won the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg so can’t surely be that bad even if he is a bit out there

Out for a run in the forest for preseason and the mad bastard emptied all the water bottles so the players couldn’t have a drink. Fan fan said he would rather go back to Peru and work as a miner than ever play under him again.:))

They had an investor, Lars Windhorst, come in and burn close to 400 million euros like it was nothing. They're now languishing in the relegation spots, worse off than they were before. Cunha, Cordoba et all have left, and a 32-year-old, patched up Stevan Jovetic as their main hope of surviving.

Earlier this week. Windhorst paid 1 million quid to halt a behind-the-scenes documentary on the club being filmed. God knows what it would have dragged up. This is a guy who cancelled their shirt deal because he genuinely thought a big dog like Amazon or Tesla would want to be associated with them. There's a lot of talk about him having shady links.

Then you have Freddi Bobic, the sporting director. Because he's already burnt through every jobber manager around already, he's went back to a 68-year-old lunatic who last managed in China five years ago.

Hamburg and Schalke have been dreadfully mismanaged, but the Hertha banter years is something else.

Ah good old medicine ball Magath. Some Wolfsburg players absolutely despised him for his somewhat "inventive" training methods.

Far and away the biggest city/population in Germany and only 3 football clubs there. They should be massive.

Is he still a shareholder? He has to one of the most random folk to have popped up during the shit show that was the “banter years”.

Lot more than 3 Clubs in Berlin to be fair, it has the best Regionalliga going for a fanscene that area but I know your point. I hope Hertha get their own Stadium soon, Olympic Stadium is far too big for them.

He was talking about Hertha becoming a major world club but it's been nothing short of a disaster.

Was their not talk of him becoming disinterested after owning them for about a year despite all his soundbites?

Is that actually true? That's fvcking bat shit mental if so.

I think even Pedro would be shaking his head at that.

I think he got a bit spooked after ploughing all that money in (just before Covid, no less) only to realise it doesn't guarantee success. The likes of Piatek and Tousart were unmitigated disasters.

The board have been fighting it out in public almost like a reality TV show. Klinsmann came in and quickly bolted, then mad Jens Lehmann was fired after a racism storm. All that's missing is a gazebo on the Olympiastadion pitch.

First Hertha star collapses under Magath!

On the second day of Magath's training, the first player was blown away. Hertha left-back Fredrik Björkan (23) had to be taken from the training ground in a golf cart on Wednesday.

At the beginning of the Wednesday afternoon session (3.30 p.m.), Hertha's new coach Felix Magath (68) carried out a spring exercise.

Four groups had to sprint to cones at different distances and drop balls. Several passes were completed. After the last one, Björkan needed a break. While his teammates were already heading towards the main square to start ball training, the Norwegian had to catch his breath.

He was gasping for air on his knees. Magath saw that his left-back was obviously having problems and went over to him. Björkan had to sit down and was then treated by physiotherapist Jürgen Lange. Among other things, he put a cold rag on his neck and Björkan's feet up.

This just gets more ridiculous. Magath has tested positive for COVID, meaning his number two — Scot and former Rangers trialist Mark Fotheringham — will take charge against in-form Hoffenheim.
